Patent number: 4099694Abstract: The improved swivel hook assembly of the invention features fixed mounting of a housing portion to a ceiling or other extended surface area, as by a screw assembly or the like, and releasable mounting of a hook portion to the housing for rotation therein. The hook portion can be connected to and rotated in the housing so as to adjustably position an article when connected to the hook portion. Means may be provided for engaging and disengaging the hook portion and housing while the hook portion is in the housing so as to prevent or permit free rotation of the hook relative to the housing. The hook may be divided into a plurality of segments spring biased towards each other into an openable closed loop to releasably secure an article on the hook. Limit means may also be provided on the hook and a push-pull handle may be provided on a closure for releasably sealing the hook in the housing. The assembly thus has improved utility and convenience.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 1976Date of Patent: July 11, 1978Assignee: Spencer G. HorwitzInventor: Howard James Horwitz

Patent number: 4097015Abstract: A rotatable ceiling hook for plants and the like. The hook is shaped in the form of a helix which is secured to a support at a point midway between its ends by a suitable means such as a screw to provide a strong and balanced ceiling hook. Interposed between the screw and the helix is a base and a washer separated by a rigid cylindrical spacer. The helix rotates around the spacer, thus providing easy rotation even when the screw is firmly attached to a support and the hook is heavily loaded.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 1976Date of Patent: June 27, 1978Inventor: Daniel Frishman

Patent number: 3995822Abstract: A swivel hook has a hook member with a frustoconical projection terminating in a cylindrical extension of diameter less than the smaller diameter end of the frustoconical portion. The mounting member for the swivel hook has a frustoconical hole into which the frustoconical projection is fitted. The elements of the swivel hook are adapted to be cast of a metal or molded of a plastic, in such a manner that the bearing surfaces of one of the elements forms a part of the die for the bearing surfaces of the other element. During the casting or molding process, the cylindrical extension is beyond the frustoconical hole, and the elements are moved relative to each other following casting or molding to move the cylindrical extension into alignment with the frustoconical hole.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1975Date of Patent: December 7, 1976Assignee: Coats & Clarks, Inc.Inventors: Ruediger Einhorn, Lee Richard Chasen

Patent number: 3977643Abstract: Support means for placement on a ceiling or wall structure for the support of ornamental or functional items. The support means includes a load supporting attachment for abutment with a flat surface which attachment is held in place by a flexible wire of small diameter which extends through a ceiling or wall opening also of reduced diameter. The wire is removably secured in place by a locking plate which is frictionally engageable with a load bearing member in place on the unseen side of the ceiling or wall structure. Means are provided interengaging the locking plate and the load bearing member to retain said plate against undesired movement after installation.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1975Date of Patent: August 31, 1976Inventor: David R. Patent number: 3930585Abstract: Apparatus and method for lifting the top coil from a stack of coils. The apparatus includes a housing which is to be attached to the forks of the fork lift truck and a hook suspended from the housing wherein the hook is adapted to facilitate removal of a coil from a stack and its subsequent transport. The method involves the steps of offsetting a top coil from a stack of coils so as to position a portion of its inner core to overhang the cores of the remaining coils in the stack, and thereafter engaging such overhanging portion of the top coil to lift it from the stack and transport it to a desired location.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1974Date of Patent: January 6, 1976Inventor: Jack M.
