Abstract: A file folder includes a first panel, a second panel connected with the first panel along a fold line, a flap cut out from the first panel, and a C-shaped clamp defining a clamping mouth thereon. Each of the first and second panels defines an internal surface opposed to each other. The flap is formed from the material of the first panel and is secured to the second panel along a hinge line coincident to the fold line. The flap is pivotal about the hinge line and can be folded to partially cover the internal surface of the second panel. One end of the clamp is pivotally connected with the second panel near one end of the hinge line. The clamping mouth of the clamp faces the hinge line of the flap such that the clamp can be pivoted between a first position clamping the flap together with the second panel and a second position releasing the flap and the second panel.

Abstract: A device for holding and supporting a book or similar object comprising; a plate having a surface and a plane substantially aligned with said surface, means, attached to the plate, for holding a book in an opened position and securing the book to said plate, and means, attached to the plate, for positioning the plate at an angle relative to a surface which the device is positioned upon, such that a book or similar object may be held in an angled and opened position in a stable manner to aid in reading or referencing the book or similar object by a user.

Abstract: A loose-leaf sheet for a transparency storage book is formed from a single paper sheet, and has a transparency receiving side, a binding side, a clamping side, and a blocking side. The clamping side is folded along a first fold line to form a clamping strip. The blocking side is folded along a second fold line to form a blocking strip. The binding side is folded along a third fold line to form a binding strip unit, which is formed with a plurality of binding holes. A transparency for projector use can be inserted into the sheet through the transparency receiving side, and is clamped on the clamping side. The binding strip unit, the clamping strip and the blocking strip are arranged in a U-shape, within which the transparency is confined.

A saddle member of a flexible and heat sealable material is heat sealed on two corresponding edges of the upper and lower sheets to form a stiffened ridge, and first and second straddle portions that extend along an entire length of the stiffened ridge. A rider has a riding portion slidably disposed on the straddle portions and a tab index holding portion exposed outwardly of the stiffened ridge into which a tab index can be inserted to classify the documents held in the document holding space.

Abstract: A clipboard includes a planar panel suitable for writing and holding documents and a retaining member pivotally secured thereto that is configured to have Rolodex.RTM.-style cards releasably secured to a front surface thereof. A pair of adjacent, spaced-apart card retaining rails are secured to the retaining member front face. One or more cards are releasably secured to the card retaining rails via a pair of complementary shaped notches. Each card includes opposite first and second faces with printed indicia on at least one of the first and second faces. Each card is also movable along the retaining rails from a first position wherein the first face is exposed to a second position wherein the second face is exposed.

Abstract: A book or other document clasping and page marking device (20) is formed as a generally U-shaped clip for passing around and clamping the edges of a set of pages and/or the cover of a book (10). The device consists of a generally U-shaped member of resilient material such as transparent molded plastic material having opposing arms (21, 24) which are normally flat in cross section and flat or curved in longitudinal section. One or both of the inside parts of the opposing arms, away from their junction, has a page-gripping surface which is serrated, grooved, roughened or otherwise treated or coated to lightly but firmly grip the device against a page when the device is clipped on a book, facilitating insertion of a page. The device (20) can be inserted into a selected position of a book edge wherein the joining part of the U and the adjacent parts of the arms of the device can protrude by a desired amount to provide a counter-balancing effect.

Abstract: A book-holding apparatus includes a spine support member, a supporting device, and a page restraining device. The spine support member engages with the spine of the book. The supporting device supports the book by interengaging with the front and back cover of the book when the book is in an open position. The supporting device is deflectably coupled to the spine support member. The page restraining device restrains the pages of the book between the restraining device and the book supporting device. Preferably, the spine support member comprises first and second substantially cylindrical members telescopically interengaged so that the spine support member can be adjusted to accommodate a range of spine lengths for books. The apparatus may further include a book restraining device that restrains and trains the spine of the book in relation to the spine support member as pages of the book are turned.

Abstract: A document folder assembly includes a folder unit which has a front sheet portion, a back sheet portion, and a hinge portion for hinging together adjacent edge sections of the front and back sheet portions. The front and back sheet portions are adapted to receive documents therebetween such that one edge of the documents extends into the hinge portion. A clip member has a front clip portion, a rear clip portion, and a connecting portion interconnecting the front and rear clip portions. The front and rear clip portions cooperatively confine a clamping space for clamping the folder unit at the hinge portion. The clip member is mounted pivotally on the folder unit, and is movable between a first position in which the hinge portion is clamped between the front and rear clip portions in order to retain the documents in the folder unit, and a second position in which the hinge portion is released from the clip member in order to permit removal of the documents in the folder unit.

The binder includes an elongated channel shaped member having a pair of oppositely facing side walls and a pair of ribs, the side walls converging at a slit and defining an interior slot along the length of the elongated channel shaped member. Each rib protrudes into the slot from the interior side of one of the side walls in a direction away from the slit and at an acute angle with the side wall from which it protrudes. The cover is slidably and removably mounted in the binder and includes a sheet and an elongated strip, the sheet being folded to form a pair of cover sheets having a common folded edge. The elongated strip has a lock portion and a securing portion.

Abstract: A device for filing and archiving books of check stubs and other, similar documents, and also the counterfoils of any register. The invention relates to a device for enabling the above-specified documents to be stored in a manner that is appropriate for accountancy filing and thereby obtain considerable saving in time during accounting, searching, and handling, together with protection against damage due to intensive handling. The device comprises a rectangular plate (5) slotted by parallel vertical rectangles (6) into which previously folded-back covers (1) are inserted, and also a sliding second rectangular plate (10). The second plate (10) when fitted to the first (5) serves to hold the documents (2) pressed thereagainst. The device of the invention is mainly intended for filing and archiving books of bank check stubs.

Abstract: A reading apparatus capable to support a book with adjustable angle includes: a base having a guiding groove and two sleeves, a supporting mechanism for supporting the book, and a clamping member for clamping the book on the supporting mechanism. The supporting mechanism includes a M-shaped frame defining two side rods, an elongated middle rod and an adjusting plate. The two side bars of the M-shaped frame are pivotally connected to the sleeves respectively. The middle rod is connected at middle of the M-shaped frame at one end thereof and is parallel to the two side bars. The adjusting plate is slidably and rotatably engaged with the middle rod and is formed with an oblique edge which can be received by the guiding groove at an adjustable position. The clamping member is pivoted to the front edge of the base for providing a clamping force facing the M-shaped frame. By adjusting the position of the adjusting plate along the guiding groove, the angle between the M-shaped frame and the base can be changed.

Abstract: A variable volume file for documents, includes a folder, constituted by two flat parts and by a back, and a box, corresponding in shape and volume to the folder, having two larger bases and by three lateral surface faces. The folder and the box are made individually in two separate parts, which can be partly overlapped on one another in the width direction of the back. Each folder part includes a flat and a back wing; each box part includes one of the bases and lateral surface wings. Provided in the back wings of the folder and in the lateral surface wings of the box are structures for sliding engagement which interact with one another for the relative movement of one part in relation to the other and structures for mutual locking of the respective parts in prefixed positions.

Abstract: The book holder is mounted on a stand. The book is held on the book holder by four clamps. Upper wooden post (24) is mounted on lower wooden post (25) and is free to rotate. As shown the wooden feet (26) and (27) are fastened to lower post (25) by means of the round steel nut (28), threaded stud (30), and wingnut (29). The stand can be quickly and easily assembled and dissassembled by one screw and wingnut holding it together. The wooden wingnut wrench shown is used to turn wingnut (29) and all other wingnuts on the book holder.

Abstract: An improved file folder specially adapted to conventional printers and optical scanners and a system and method for printing and using the improved folder. The improved folder has an enclosure for holding documents and printable panels with an integrated tab and integrated document labels. The folder panels, integrated tab and labels are printed with machine-readable identifying indicia and text in one pass through a standard printer. The tab is foldable such that folder identifying indicia and text are visible from either the front or back side of the folder. After printing, the documents labels are removable and affixable to the folder documents. Images of the folder documents are captured with a standard optical scanner which also reads the document identifying indicia printed on the labels. The document images form a database indexed according to the indicia printed on the document labels.

Abstract: A writing reading/panel with hidden indication bar, including a panel body having a resilient paper clip pivotally disposed on upper side and a slide channel longitudinally disposed on a lateral side, an indication bar snugly fitted in the slide channel at normal time and a connecting member vertically slidably disposed on two sides of the slide channel to embrace the same. The connecting member is disposed with at least one resilient locating plate for abutting against lateral walls of the slide channel so as to locate the connecting member at a desired position on the panel body. In the case that the indication bar is hidden in the slide channel, a paper can be clipped on the panel body for a user to directly write thereon. Alternatively, the indication bar can be taken out of the slide channel and connected with the connecting member, whereby the indication bar can be moved along with the connecting member along the slide channel to indicate the content of the paper clipped on the panel body.

Abstract: A binder cover with a spine or binding section which has a pleated expandable center section with a first folding section and a second folding section on either side and each connected to the binder cover. The first folding section and the second folding section define a channel to receive the documents to be contained within the binder. Fasteners, such as staples, are positionable through the first folding section and the second folding section to secure the documents therein. The fasteners may include, for example, staples, thread, cable, posts and screws, clamps or glue. Adhesive is available to secure the first folding section in its second or closed position and the second folding section in its second or closed position.

Abstract: A clipboard apparatus comprising a single sheet of plastic folded over to form two planar surfaces which allow the insertion of reference material into the sandwiched area formed between the two planar surfaces of said folded plastic sheet so as to protect said reference material from surrounding adverse elements. The clipboard apparatus further includes a clip assembly, attached to the planar surface at or near the fold, for securing a piece of paper to the outside smooth surface of the clipboard for writing, or drawing, on the surface.

Abstract: A retainer clip (1) for holding mementos and keep-sakes, such as greeting cards (7), invitations, ticket stubs, and the like, particularly multi-page ones, within a multi-ringed binder scrapbook (11) so as to typically not damage the memento in any way, while allowing the complete viewing of the memento, including the front and back pages of a multi-page item. The clip has an item clip retainer portion (3), which can be substantially similar to a conventional paper clip, with a binder ring retainer portion (5) attached to the item clip retainer portion, which binder retainer portion secures the clip to at least two of the rings (9) of the multi-ring binder scrapbook. The clip preferably has two, parallel, extended, oval-shaped portions, one longer than the other, with the shorter, ring attachment portion being shorter but having a length to extend across at least two, spaced rings of a multi-ring binder.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a rotatable clipboard assembly comprising a substantially rectangular base component having a planar bottom surface and four sides depending therefrom. The area between the four sides and the planar bottom surface defines a paper holding bin. A lid component is attached to a side of the base component using a hinge means allowing the paper holding bin to be selectively enclosed. A glove component is attached to the bottom surface of the clipboard using a rotating bearing assembly allowing a user to insert his or her hand into the glove component and rotate the clipboard to a desired position. Alternatively, an arm component is attached to the bearing assembly allowing the device to be attached to and rotated about a person's arm or wrist.

Abstract: A stationery appliance for use with a loose leaf ring binder that has at least two closure rings capable of holding punched sheets in an organized manner. The appliance comprises a grouping device selectively encircling a plurality of the sheets to define an integral group thereof and maintain the integral group segregated from all of the other sheets held by the closure rings of the ring binder. The grouping device is selectively releasable to permit inspection of individual sheets of the integral group or removal of individual sheets from the ring binder. In one embodiment, the grouping device includes an elongated strip of flexible sheet material extending between first and second ends, the strip including a bight portion intermediate the first and second ends to define an upper elongated flap generally contiguous with an uppermost sheet of the integral group of sheets and a lower elongated flap generally contiguous with a lowermost sheet of the integral group of sheets.

The web is stored as a roll inside a paper web roll housing from where it is passed through a first web guiding and feeding assembly that is characterized by permitting it to travel in one direction only. The web is then passed through a slot below the first web guiding and feeding assembly and under the pad housing to another slot from where it is passed upwardly and through a second web guiding and feeding assembly similar to the first one in function. Both assemblies include an elongated member with a longitudinal edge in contact with the web to permit to travel in one direction only.

Abstract: A cover folder which includes a binding bar and a cover, the binding bar being slidably and removably mounted on the cover. The binding bar includes a pair of oppositely facing sidewalls which define the sides of an interior slot. Each sidewall includes an angled barb which projects out in a direction towards its opposing sidewall. The cover comprises a sheet folded over on itself to form a pair of panels having a common folded edge, the body of each of the pair of panels being separable from one another. A plurality of semicircular cutouts are formed on each panel. In use, the cover is inserted into the interior slot of the binding bar such that at least some of the cutouts on each panel engage the barbs so that the binding bar will not slip off the cover when the cover is opened to insert sheets or examine sheets already inserted.

Abstract: A clip binder for holding paper which does not require damaging the material to be held within the clips. The clip binder has a front cover, a binder spine, a back cover and a pair of clips mounted on each end of the binder spine. The clips have a clip spine and two retainer walls which together define the jaws within which the paper is inserted. The clips are positioned perpendicularly to the binder spine such that the jaws face each other and are at right angles to the binder spine. The height of the retainer walls are constructed low so that the papers can be easily leafed through and without and fold back problems. In an alternative embodiment, the clips are slidably mounted to the binder spine. In yet another embodiment, the clips are rotatably mounted to the binder spine.

A paper sheet holder includes a base plate (25), a paper sheet guiding plate (26) made of non-magnetic material, a plurality of permanent magnets (27) embedded in the paper sheet guiding plate while being spaced apart by a predetermined distance in a horizontal direction, and a plurality of movable permanent magnets (30) spaced apart by a predetermined distance in a horizontal direction.

Abstract: An adapter for holding a spiral bound booklet in a multiple ring notebook. The adapter comprises a flat carrier with holes to receive the notebook rings and supports an elongated rod which passes through the spirals of the spiral binding. End crowns are removable to allow removal of the elongated rod from the spirals.

Abstract: A file folder has a pocket disposed on one of its surfaces. The edges of the pocket and the file folder are in sheared alignment with each other. A method for manufacturing a file folder having a pocket is disclosed. Adhesive is deposited along several edges of a first web of material which is pressed to a second web of material to join the webs together by the adhesive. The combined materials are cut along one of the edges of adhesive to form a sheet having a pocket. The first and second webs have side edges which are in sheared alignment.

Abstract: A combination clipboard with a padded writing surface has a rigid or semi-rigid back board with a padding covering at least a portion of one surface. A netting material covers at least a portion of the padding to form a pouch for holding objects therein. The padding includes a backing sheet, a padding material positioned over the backing sheet and a covering overlying the padding material and attached at its edges to the back side of the backing sheet. This padding unit is attached to the back board. A lip is formed along the edge of the back board and the padding is positioned within the boundaries of the lip. The lip has a height which is from about 5% to about 75% of the thickness of the padding unit.

Abstract: A book holder having slender fingers affixed to the ends of a telescoping frame serves to hold a book open when the frame is positioned across the back of a book's spine while orientation of the frame along the book's spine allows the device to serve as a book marker when the book is closed. The adjustability of the telescoping frame allows a wide range of book widths and spine lengths to be accommodated.

Abstract: A document folder assembly includes a clip member with front and rear clip portions, and a connecting portion interconnecting adjacent first edge portions of the front and rear clip portions. One of the front and rear clip portions has an inner side formed with a hook projection which is spaced from the first edge portion by a first distance. A folder unit has front and back sheet portions adapted to receive documents therebetween, and a hinge portion for hinging together adjacent edge sections of the front and back sheet portions. The hinge portion is clamped in the clip member for retaining the documents in the folder unit. One of the front and back sheet portions is provided with an outwardly projecting retaining piece which has a free retaining edge spaced from the adjacent edge sections by a second distance smaller than the first distance.

Abstract: An improved clip for a writing board is provided. In accordance with the invention, the clip includes a clip body attached to a writing board. A clip blade is attached to the clip body and includes a binding edge for releasably binding paper against the writing board. The spring is included and is adapted to urge the binding edge against the writing board. In this manner, paper may be releasably gripped by the binding edge to the writing board. A force receiving release tab is disposed opposite the binding edge of the clip blade for receiving manually-applied force. In response to such force, the release tab urges the binding edge away from the writing board to release the paper. A display holder is attached to the clip blade. The display holder defines a substantially planar display area, and further includes a rolled edge for holding a laminate display sheet adjacent the display area.

Abstract: A note pad holder for removably holding a note pad of the type having a binding which grips a pad comprising a number of sheets of paper proximate or along one edge of the pad, the binding having an overlap portion which overlaps a small portion of the pad along the gripped edges of the sheets thereof to create an edge strip which is thicker than the remainder of the note pad. The note pad holder is designed to be removably attached to a surface such as a refrigerator front.

The envelopes overlap with each other and are connected in series.

Abstract: A page turning device is provided that can be mounted on the end of a cylindrical writing instrument, such as a pencil. The page turning device has a substantially spherical body which has a plurality of deformable protuberances spaced about the outer surface of the body. The protuberances have an adhesive quality sufficient to grip a page of paper and are sized and spaced so that the body of the page turning device is prevented from contacting the page of paper to be turned. The page turning device has a hollow base connected to the outer surface of the body so that the page turning device can be mounted on the end of a cylindrical writing instrument.

Abstract: A card filing device for filing a plurality of cards, which is inexpensive, easy to assemble, suited to mass production, exceptionally versatile, capable of being easily stored in storage cases or wallets, and easy to handle, having a simple and compact structure which allows the stored cards to be easily identified and allows the selected cards to be simply and quickly removed. The invention comprises a plurality of card cases B each having a card storage pocket 10 which can hold various types of cards, and a plurality of attachment leaves 4 to which respective card cases B are slidably attached. Each card case B is provided with a protruding tab portion 11 which is capable of being grasped and pulled by the fingers. In this manner, when a selected card case B is slid out with respect to the corresponding attachment leaf 4 of the holder A, then the selected card case B is made to protrude farther than the other card cases. This then allows the selected card to be easily removed.

The adjustable holding clip has means for biasing the clips to a closed gripping position for gripping and holding the pages of a book. Each adjustable holding clip has a guide member having a guide shaft attached to each of the lower clip members for slidably moving each holding clip within each of the channel openings and relative to the back support member to adjust the spacing of the holding clips for receiving different size books.

The writing board has a board portion and a resilient member for securing the board portion to the steering wheel. The board portion has a planar platform having an upper edge, a lower edge, and a pair of side edges. The planar platform forms a first section and a second section. The planar platform is adapted to fold between the first and second sections and is adapted to rest upon the steering wheel. The board portion has a lip projecting upward from the lower edge and the side edges of the lower section. The lip is adapted to retain materials on the planar platform. A second lip projects downward from the upper edge adapted for positioning the planar platform on the steering wheel.

Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a spiral bound book having a permanent magnet incorporated in one of the covers and a complementary weight or magnet incorporated in the opposite cover. The arrangement is such that the spiral bound book is rendered readily displayable or used by magnetic attraction to a magnetically attractive surface whereby the weight or magnet in the opposite cover will cause the book to be displayed in an open position. The individual pages may also incorporate a permanent magnet whereby the respective pages can be maintained or disposed in any selectable open position.

Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a miniature book construction in which one of the book covers includes a permanent magnet whereby the book can be readily affixed to a magnetically attractive surface. The book construction includes a cover jacket formed of a foldable material in which the magnet forming an end cover is adhesively secured to the cover jacket opposite a rigid blank defining the other cover, the ends of the jacket being reversely folded over the ends of the respective covers, with the bound pages of the book secured between the opposed covers by adhesively securing the opposed end most pages to the inside of the adjacent covers. Alternate embodiments may include utilizing a permanent magnet in each of the respective covers whereby the poles of the magnet may be positioned to either attract or repel so that the book may be maintained in a normally closed or open position depending upon the relationship of the poles of the respective magnets included in the book covers.

Abstract: A marking board for attachment to golf trolley comprising a plate with a hollow for holding papers therein, clipping elements for clipping and locating papers thereon and hollow tubes and pipes on the underside of the plate for holding tees, golf bail position marking pegs and pens. The plate is further provided with curved recesses on two opposing sides thereof to facilitate the withdrawal of the papers from the hollow. A ball holder is connected to one perimeter edge of the plate and comprises a flat portion and a curved portion to receive golf balls within a room between the portions, protrusions being provided on two sides of the curved portions to prevented the balls from sideward falling off the room.
