Abstract: Pair of foldable lounge seats are connected along their respective inboard sides to a table panel positioned between the two lounge seats. Convex depression in the top of each lounge seat panel accommodates collapsing of hinged seat back rest. Lounge seats and table panel are foldable into a compact rectangular shape. Carrying strap is provided for transporting the collapsed device. Opening through table panel accommodates umbrella pole, which is used to secure device to ground when in use. Umbrella retaining straps are provided on the outboard surface of the collapsed device for easy transporting of the device together with an umbrella.

Abstract: A modular seating system in which at least two supporting elements serve a dual function including that of providing a seat support and an additional function. Each such supporting element includes a hollow shape having vertical supporting walls and is formed from a cured organic polymer reinforced by an inert fibrous filler such as glass fibers. The elements support a seating component that includes a beam provided with a first plate affixed at each end in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the beam. The beam is affixed at each end and suspended by one of the supporting elements. Mechanical fasteners extend through the plates and through a vertical wall of said hollow shapes. A second reinforcing plate is provided on the inside of said vertical wall, and the mechanical fasteners also extend through the second reinforcing plates, causing the first and second plates to apply compressive force on the supporting wall. One or more seating units are attached to and supported by the beam.

Abstract: A baby entertainment and learning apparatus for highchairs including a removable tray having in its top surface a series of pressure sensitive microswitches. A series of interchangeable tray top panels, each presenting a series of depressible picture blocks, may be selectively placed on the highchair tray for overlaying and activating the microswitches of the tray. Each tray top panel has a panel identity device. Circuitry components are mounted to the underside of the tray and include: an integrated circuit microchip within which is stored voice, sound and musical information; a low voltage battery power source; an audio speaker; and panel switches corresponding in number to the series of tray top panels and each positioned to interact with a single panel identity device.

Abstract: A food service tray for use in an automobile is supported on one end by an automobile seat, and is supported on its opposite end by an adjustable height leg stand. The adjustable leg stand includes a stanchion which is mounted for extension and retraction within a receiver pocket. The elevation of the food service tray and the extended position of the stanchion are fixed by a releasable latch. In automobiles having separately movable seats, the food service tray is stabilized by a slidable anchor arm which is inserted between the movable seats.

Abstract: An apparatus including a central seat rotatably mounted to selectively confront one of an annular array of desks positioned about the seat. The desks are mounted to an upper ring, wherein a lower ring concentrically positioned below the upper ring provides a foot rest for an individual positioned within the seat. The seat is mounted upon a dampener member to accommodate bouncing of an individual upon the seat structure. The desks are removably mounted relative to the upper ring to accommodate various positions and desks for securement to the upper ring.

Abstract: A unit of household furniture has two chairs and a console permanently joined together with the console between the two chairs. Each of the chairs is a reclining chair that is individually adjustable between a retracted position and an extended position, and the two chairs and console are movable as a unit relative to a supporting surface.

Abstract: A generally flat add-on desk surface is provided with hooks and stop members so that the work surface can be attached to a tablet on a tablet arm chair. Hooks and fixed stop members engage side edges of the tablet to hold the added surface in position and a retractable stop member permits simple attachment and detachment. The surface is significantly larger than the surface of the original tablet and can be added for special purposes such as examinations and the like.

Abstract: A desk for use in an automobile has a base which is provided with adjustable spring urged retaining hook members for engagement with the bottom edge of the seat back portion of a conventional vehicle seat. The retaining hook members may be adjusted in selected extended positions for use with a wide variety of different configurations of conventional vehicle seats. The adjustable hook members comprise spring biased retaining flanges which, in a first position, may be easily inserted beneath the bottom edge of the automobile seat back portion. The retaining flanges are spring biased to a second position for clamping engagement with the vehicle seat back portion. The desk has an adjustable writing surface which may be pivoted about a vertical mounting post, for enabling occupants seated at either side of a vehicle to easily use the desk. A writing surface of the desk is formed by a slidable cover of a compartmentalized storage tray.

Abstract: A structurally simple table and bench combination includes a rectangular planar table top pivotally connected to two pairs of legs, one pair of legs at one end of the table top being non-extensible, and the other pair of legs at the other end of the table top being extensible; and a bench defined by a pair of tubular sides extending outwardly from the non-extensible legs away from the extensible legs for receiving rods attached to the extensible legs, so that the extensible legs can be moved towards or away from the non-extensible legs while the extensible legs are retracted or extended to change the angle of inclination of the table top.

Abstract: A portable and collapsible travel tray assembly is provided for mounting in conjunction with a conventional automobile seat positioned to the front of the user of the tray and the seat of the user, particularly a child's car seat. The portable tray assembly comprises a rigid bottom panel member having front, back, and side portions. The bottom panel member is provided with a pair of opposing folding side panels which extend along the side portions of the bottom panel and above the plane of the bottom panel when in the unfolded position. The tray assembly also includes a front folding panel extending between the opposing side panels and along the front portion of the bottom panel and above the plane of said bottom panel. The folding side and front panels permit the tray to be converted from a stowed or collapsed position when the side and front panels are in the folded or stowed position to a position of use when in the unfolded position.

Abstract: A high chair bench assembly simultaneously accommodates several children side-by-side on a horizontal bench bottom pivotally connected to a vertical bench back which is attached to a wall. The bench bottom is held in the horizontal position by a support bar pivotally connected at the top of the side of the bench back and which has a keyhole slot brought over a stud located at the front of the side edge of the bench bottom. The bottom is lowered to a vertical stowage position by removing the keyhole slot from the stud. Each seating place is provided with back and bottom cushions as well as a safety belt. Trays are attached at independently selectable heights above the brackets into vertical perforated tracks located at the sides of each seating place. The trays are secured by an adjustable tension tie releasably connecting the front of each tray to an adjacent bench bottom location.

Abstract: A combination tool caddy and stool comprises a base, having a pedestal-type seat mounted on a central portion of the base. A vertical support post is mounted on a marginal portion of the base in a laterally spaced apart relationship with the seat. A tray is supported on the vertical post in a horizontal orientation by an adjustable coupling which permits the tray to be moved vertically and horizontally to a location that is conveniently reachable by a user seated on the seat. The tray can also be mounted on the support post in a vertical orientation to form a backrest for the seat. The seat and the tray are preferably attached to the base by interchangeable coupling members, so that the seat can be removed, and the tray supported on the center of the base to provide additional stability. Wheels may be provided on the base so that the unit can be manually propelled by a seated user from one work site to another.

Abstract: A marksman's collapsible, portable, shooting bench and table assembly. The assembly comprises a bench open on its underside to provide a storage compartment and shiftable between an upright, use position and an inverted, storage position. A chest is contoured and dimensioned for nesting in the compartment. A foldable table top folds about the chest in the nesting position of the latter. A collapsible leg assembly is dimensioned for storage in the compartment. Fastening means releasably fasten the table top in its opened out use position to the leg assembly in its extended use position. Attaching means releasably attach the bench in an upright, use position to selected ones of the legs of the leg assembly in their extended use position.

Abstract: A collapsible end table unit which, in collapsed condition, occupies a very narrow space alongside a chair or sofa and is steadied or anchored by engaging, by a base extension, the underframe of the chair or sofa. The table may be pulled lengthwise and pivotally mounted on either side of the unit as desired or slid along the unit to form a desk top,--or separated entirely from the unit. The table, therefore, can be used as an end table, coffee table, desk, bar, drafting table, etc. The unit includes storage space for magazines, newspapers, and the like, as well as a top support for ashtrays tablelamps and other accessories.

Abstract: A portable bench which is particularly suited for use by a shooter comprises top and front and rear leg assemblies pivotally connected thereto. The leg assemblies fold inwardly to provide a pocket for carrying a seat which is releasably connected to the leg assemblies when they are folded outwardly at the point of use. The bench top is inclined and is vertically and angularly adjustable. The bench top has a lateral recess which overlies the seat for accommodating the upper body of the shooter when seated on the seat. An adjustable gun rest is provided at the front of the bench top for supporting the forearm of the shooter's gun.

Abstract: A painting is maintained in a clamp assembly connected to a leg of adjustable length. The leg of adjustable length and vertical bars of the clamp assembly form a tripod. The vertical bars may be connected to a pair of frame support legs at selectable locations thereon. The frame support legs and a pair of camp chair legs are respectively connected to ends of a camp chair seat. Because of the selectable locations, the seat is at a desired distance from the clamp assembly. The frame support legs are additionally connected to a tray whereon paints and brushes may be placed.

Abstract: A heavy-duty picnic table folds into a compact form for shipment or storage. Two folding end frames which mount a table top and opposite side benches fold in unison when locking pins are removed from two cross braces which maintain the table securely in an erected state. Operational parts are tethered to prevent separation and loss. The table is characterized by strength and stability.

Abstract: A restraint table for a vehicle that is normally stored within a console located along one side of a passenger seat and is connected to the console by a hinge member which allows sequential movement of the restraint table about a pair of substantially perpendicular axes so that the restraint table assumes a position in front of an occupant seated in the passenger seat.

Abstract: A foldable bench assembly for attaching to a portable structure within a room is provided. The bench assembly includes a seat cushion, a seat platform, legs and at least two telescopable tubes. One end of the telescopable tubes is rotatably attached to the portable structure. The other end of the telescopable tubes is attached to the seat platform such that the seat platform can rotate around an axis in the same plane as the centerline of said telescopable tube. The legs are swingably attached to the seat platform. The seat cushion is attached to the top of the seat platform. A bracket is attached to the portable structure for the tubes to rest on when the bench assembly is in the down position. The bracket may have a pin protruding therefrom which engages holes in the tubes to prevent the tubes from sliding with respect to each other when the bench assembly is in the down position.

Abstract: A combination feeding tray and play table adapted to be used with a chair comprising a substantially rigid, unitary tray provided with a U-shaped opening or recess of sufficient size to accomodate the body of a child, said tray comprising a horizontal surface surrounding the front and sides of said opening, integral with an upwardly and outwardly inclined sliding surface, the inner edge of said horizontal surface being provided with an upstanding perpendicular extension or border, the front portion of said horizontal surface being provided with countersunk openings for removably receiving toys and feeding plates mounted on equally sized and shaped ends adapted to frictionally fit into said openings. The back of the tray may be open or enclosed with a perpendicular upstanding backrest.

Abstract: A shooting table device having a table portion for supporting a firearm and seat portion for supporting the operator while firing the firearm with the firearm resting on the table portion. The table has a pair of front legs to support the front of the table. The seat portion has a pair of horizontal extending support members extending from the seat, and which are pivotably mounted to the front legs of the table to pivotably support the seat portion of the front of the table. The horizontally extending support members are telescoping to adjust the seat toward or away from the table. The seat portion has a pair of legs mounted to the seat portion of the rear of the table to support the rear end of the seat separate from the table. The table also has a support leg at its rearward end to support the rearward end of the table.

Abstract: A compactable furniture unit having two chairs and a shaped body, each chair having a seating surface, an upwardly extending backrest and two upwardly extending armrests; the shaped body being adapted to fit into the area defined by the seating surface, backrest and armrests of one of the chairs and to extend upwardly beyond the top of at least one of said armrests. The second chair of the unit is adapted to be inverted and to rest with its armrests on the armrests of said first chair, so that said second chair is maintained in this position atop said first chair by said shaped body thus forming a compact unit.

Abstract: A furniture construction, such as a chair, table or foot stool, may be made by cutting a flat circular member into a plurality of panels along chordal lines thereof. The chair, for example, may be formed out of four identical panels, as defined by first and second perpendicular pairs of parallel chordal cut lines. In assembling the chair, seat and back panels are clamped between a pair of laterally spaced side panels by a plurality of tie rods and the back panel is adjustably mounted on the seat panel. In the preferred embodiment of this invention, the edges of the panels are each covered by cushioned edging means comprising a plurality of first fibrous ropes extending the full length of such edge and a second continuous fibrous rope extending sequentially through a plurality of apertures spaced along and inwardly of the edge in spiralled and wrapped relationship over the first ropes to bind them against the panel.

Abstract: Modular furniture units are quickly and easily assembled and/or disassembled using interconnecting hooking devices. The units are assembled from separate arm, seat and back sections and the interconnecting hooking devices are preferably of the same configuration on each piece, each of the hooking devices including a male member and female opening so that one device can be hooked into another device. In the simplest form, e.g. in a chair, no legs are needed because the arm members can support the entire structure. However, where sectional sofas or the like are constructed from the modular units and where there may be too much play between the modular units, it may be desirable to put support legs under the modular seat portions. Also, in another preferred form, the modular units can be assembled as or converted to the form of a divan or bed or the like.
