Abstract: Techniques for providing instructions to an operator of a sea vessel via a computing device are described. The computing device can request, from another computing device, instructions regarding one or more of an intended course and action plan for the sea vessel, which can include at least one navigational instruction and/or deployment instruction. The computing device can send data to a display device to cause a prompt to be displayed. The prompt can include options regarding the at least one instruction. The computing device can send state information of the sea vessel to the other computing device. The state information can include the received input and location information of the sea vessel. Additionally, data can be received by the computing device from a shore based operator and data can be sent to one or more clients on shore.

Abstract: A method for an enhanced vehicle monitoring system that utilizes cameras and other sensors to determine the state of the interior and/or exterior of a vehicle is provided. The method comprises detecting that a driver has exited a vehicle. The method further comprises monitoring a state of the vehicle. The method further comprises determining based, at least in part, on the monitoring, if an object has been left in the vehicle unintentionally or if the vehicle has been left running unattended. Abstract: A system and method for simultaneously and continuously capturing video from the interior and exterior of a vehicle. The system includes, for example, a first housing including a first connection mechanism, first and second cameras and a memory disposed in the first housing. The system also includes a second housing including a second connection mechanism adapted to be removably connected to the first connection mechanism of the first housing and encasing said first housing within the second housing. A mounting mechanism is adjustably connected to said second housing and configured to maintain at least one of the first camera and the second camera in a predetermined position by adjusting the second housing. Additional embodiments are also described including a method for capturing data.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for pricing an insurance premium based on telematics data. The system includes a communications interface and a business logic processor in communication with the communications interface. The communications interface receives telematics data collected by a telematics acquisition device. A business logic processor determines an insurance quote for a user based on the received telematics data, vehicle data, and vehicle owner data. The communications interface transmits the insurance quote to the user of the vehicle.

Abstract: A display device, for a hybrid vehicle for displaying an output relating to traveling of the hybrid vehicle, includes a first region and a second region. The first region indicates the output in a first mode in which an internal combustion engine is stopped and the vehicle travels using an electric motor. The second region indicates the output in a second mode in which the internal combustion engine is operated to travel. The first region and the second region are independently disposed in a predetermined range. Numerals for scale are marked in either one of the first region and the second region.
Abstract: A method of controlling the speed of a vehicle, especially an automobile, is responsive to information concerning a route and traffic. The method identifies at least a portion of an anticipated route, based on planned route data from a navigation system and/or based on data from a repeat journey logger. The method determines an optimal braking or accelerating point based on the anticipated route and outputs a sign to a driver to adjust the vehicle speed in accordance with the optimal braking or accelerating point. The method also records speed profiles of the vehicle along routes followed in a repeat journey logger and uses these speed profiles to determine an optimal braking or accelerating point. Instead of, or as well as outputting a sign to the driver, the method can adjust the speed profile of the vehicle in accordance with the optimal braking or acceleration point.
Abstract: A high pressure tank of a high pressure tank apparatus includes: a resin-made liner; a reinforced layer covering an outer surface of the liner; and a supplying/discharging hole to which a supplying/discharging flow path is connected via a connecting section. A storage section is capable of storing a leaked fluid that has leaked from the connecting section and a temporary release fluid that has been led out from between the liner and the reinforced layer. A control section, when an internal pressure detection value of the high pressure tank due to a pressure sensor is greater than a threshold value, judges whether the leaked fluid has occurred, based on a detection result of a sensor detecting a concentration of a hydrogen gas inside the storage section, and otherwise does based on a detection result of the pressure sensor.
Abstract: A signal recognition instruction receiving unit receives an instruction to recognize signal information in a traffic signal from an automatic driving control device. A signal information recognizer executes recognition processing for the signal information on an image from a sensor and information from a wireless device when the signal recognition instruction receiving unit receives the instruction. An image output unit outputs, to a notification device, start information indicating that the signal information recognizer starts the recognition processing for the signal information.
Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for determining vehicle seat occupancy. An example vehicle includes a vehicle seat, an accelerometer coupled to the vehicle seat, and a restraint control module. The restraint control module is configured to determine a minute of arc measurement for the vehicle seat based on data received from the accelerometer, determine that the vehicle seat is occupied based on the minute of arc measurement, and provide an alert.
Abstract: A method for detecting body information on passengers of a vehicle based on humans' status recognition is provided. The method includes steps of: a passenger body information-detecting device, (a) inputting an interior image of the vehicle into a face recognition network, to detect faces of the passengers and output passenger feature information, and inputting the interior image into a body recognition network, to detect bodies and output body-part length information; and (b) retrieving specific height mapping information by referring to a height mapping table of ratios of segment body portions of human groups to heights per the human groups, acquiring a specific height of the specific passenger, retrieving specific weight mapping information from a weight mapping table of correlations between the heights and weights per the human groups, and acquiring a weight of the specific passenger by referring to the specific height.
