  • Patent number: 11955001
Abstract: One or more devices may obtain traffic data, such as video from intersection cameras, point cloud data from Light Detection and Ranging (or “LiDAR”) sensors, and so on. Metrics may be calculated from the traffic data. For each frame, the metrics may be analyzed to detect whether a near miss/collision occurs between each object in the frame (such as motorized or non-motorized vehicles, pedestrians, and so on) and each of the other objects in the frame. These metrics may be analyzed to evaluate whether or not a group of conditions are met. If the group of conditions are met, a near miss/collision may be detected. This may be recorded in the metrics for the objects involved. In some implementations, one or more indicators may be added to the traffic data and/or to one or more visualizations generated using the metrics, the traffic data, the structured data, and so on.

If the driver does not appear aware of the external alert, or the external alert is not detectable inside the vehicle, the vehicle may broadcast an internal alert to the driver. The internal alert may be one or more of a visual alert, an audible alert, or a tactile alert.

Abstract: An occupant or object sensing system in a vehicle includes electrical circuits for capacitive sensing and corresponding circuits shielding the sensing system from interference. A sensing circuit and a shielding circuit may be printed by screen printing with conductive ink on opposite sides of a non-conductive substrate. The substrate is a plastic film or other fabric that has an elastic memory structure that is resilient to stretching. The conductive inks used to print circuits onto the substrate have a similar resilience to stretching such that the substrate and the circuits thereon can be subject to deforming forces without breaking the printed circuits. The substrate may be covered with a carbon polymer layer to provide alternative conductive paths that enable fast recovery for conduction in the presence of any break in the printed conductive traces on the substrate.

  • Patent number: 11751784
Abstract: Example embodiments described in this disclosure are generally directed to detecting drowsiness in a driver of a vehicle. In an example method, a driver drowsiness detection system receives a motor cortex signal from a brain activity monitoring element attached to the driver. The brain activity monitoring element can be a cortical implant, for example. The driver drowsiness detection system evaluates the motor cortex signal to identify an anatomical part of the driver (eyes, for example) that is associated with a brain activity. The driver drowsiness detection system then uses a drowsiness detection device placed in the vehicle for evaluating a physical activity of the anatomical part. The evaluation may be carried out by using a camera directed upon the driver's eyes, for example. The driver drowsiness detection system determines a drowsiness state of the driver based on the evaluation and assigns a sleep risk score.
