A first signal is sent from the active sensor of the sensor pod to a user device that is initiating a sale for a service. A converted first signal is received at the active sensor, wherein the converted version of the first signal includes identification information for the user. It can be determined that the active sensor of the sensor pod of the point of service environment has not functioned. A user wake up call is received from the user device at the passive sensor of the sensor pod. Functionality of the active sensor is restored with a POS wake up signal sent from the passive sensor to the active sensor.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system (102) for determining a location of an explosive device. The system (102) detects an explosive device using one or more devices (204) based on one or more nano-explosive detection sensors (206) associated with the one or more devices (204). The system (102) further identifies a type, a quantity and a signal strength associated with the explosive device. The system (102) computes a distance between the explosive device and the one or more devices (204). The system (102) determines explosive device co-ordinates based on the computed distance and device co-ordinates associated with each device (204). The system (102) receives a data packet comprising data associated with the explosive device from the one or more devices (204). The system (102) determines a location of the explosive device based on an analysis of the data packet received from the one or more devices (204).

Abstract: A method of updating a data set using event-based conditions includes adding a first data point to the data set and triggering a first event indicating that the data set has changed. Adding the first data point to the data set triggers the first event. The method also includes, in response to the first event, updating conditions for completing the data set. The conditions are associated with action pathways for receiving or verifying missing data points in the data set. The method further includes triggering a second event indicating that the conditions for completing the data set have changed and, in response to the second event, distributing the conditions to a plurality of distributed services. Each of the plurality of distributed services is configured to execute one or more of the action pathways for receiving or verifying the missing data points in the data set.

Abstract: Techniques for automatically securing receptacles of a retailer via an electronic lock include receiving a user request to reserve a receptacle, selecting a suitable receptacle based on one or more conditions, some of which may be specified by the user, and transmitting an electronic locking signal to secure, and thereby reserve, the selected receptacle. An association between the reserved receptacle and the user is stored, and the user is electronically notified. Subsequently, an electronic signal indicative of the identification of the user (or of the user's agent) is locally received. Upon determination that the user is expected and associated with the reserved receptacle, the techniques include causing an electronic unlocking signal to be transmitted to the electronic lock, thereby unlocking the receptacle.

Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for wireless beacon devices for use in tracking user locations during group travel. A user may take a trip on a vehicle, such as a bus, train, cruise ship, or other large travel vehicle. The users may disembark the vehicle in order to visit a location but plan to travel further on the vehicle. Thus, when the vehicle is attempting to leave the location where the users have left the vehicle, the vehicle may be required to again account for each passenger. The vehicle may utilize a wireless beacon located near an entrance and/or onboard the vehicle to account for each passenger. The wireless beacon may connect to a communication device of each user when the communication device is in proximity to the wireless beacon and, thus, inform the vehicle's operator that each user in located on the vehicle.
