An aspect ratio of the zoom portion defined by the user input is adjusted to correspond to the zoom display device resolution. The display controller system is programmed to implement the display surface zoom to provide a full screen view of the zoom portion on the zoom display device. In the display controller system, the zoom portion of the frame buffer memory is scaled, converted into a display signal and output.

Abstract: An analytical tool for measuring spacing between elements in a web page is provided. In one implementation, the analytical tool identifies locations indicated on a web page and automatically determines one or more elements in proximity to those indicated locations. The analytical tool automatically identifies points on the determined elements associated with the indicated locations and calculates the distance between those points. The calculated distance is displayed on the web page. The automatically identified points and a graphical representation of a measuring ruler between the points may also be displayed to enhance usability.

Abstract: Grids are commonly used to provide an environment for users to orient objects within a drawing program. The properties of a grid are usually defined and set at the time the grid is created and do not change. An effective way to provide a useful grid that can adapt to objects a user has drawn is provided herein by presenting a dynamic grid on a display. The dynamic grid may adjust grid properties, such as the position of the origin, the angle of the grid, the size of gridline spacing, the coordinate mode, etc. The new grid properties are adjusted to accommodate what the user may draw next, based upon what the user previously drew.

  • Patent number: 7619639
Abstract: The invention pertains to an adaptive scaling technique. A look-up table of optimized filter coefficients is used to configure a multi-tap filter when scaling a video image. The look-up table reflects the scaling between standardized video source (input) resolutions and video display (output) resolutions. When an actual scaling factor does not correspond to an optimized operating point, a device driver determines which two scaling factors reflected in the look-up table are closest to the actual scaling factor. A set of interpolated filter coefficients for the multi-tap filter is then generated from the optimized filter coefficients associated with the two closest scaling factors. One advantage of the disclosed technique is that scaling operations are performed using filter coefficients interpolated from filter coefficients optimized for two similar scaling operations. Thus, the technique provides more precise filtering relative to prior art designs, resulting in higher-quality scaled video images.

Abstract: In a digital multifunctional apparatus, enlargement/reduction parameters for respective pixels are calculated by an image processing circuit multiplying a length enlargement/reduction ration output from a CPU by pixel numbers of an image read by an image sensor, in which the pixel numbers are counted form a starting pixel of the image reading. A pixel counter counts integer portion C of each enlargement/reduction parameter. When the integer portion C of the calculated enlargement parameter of a respective pixel increases by at least two from that of the preceding pixel, a pixel supplement circuit supplements one image data to enlarge the image data. When the counted integer portion C of the calculated reduction parameter of a respective pixel is unchanged form that of the preceding pixel, the image processing circuit removes the image data of the respective pixel to reduce the image data.

Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods that facilitate annotating digital documents (e.g., digital inking) with devices such as Tablet PCs, PDAs, cell phones, and the like. The systems and methods provide for multi-scale navigation during document annotating via a space-scale framework that fluidly generates and moves a zoom region relative to a document and writing utensil. A user can employ this zoom region to annotate various portions of the document at a size comfortable to the user and suitably scaled to the device display. The space-scale framework enables dynamic navigation, wherein the zoom region location, size, and shape, for example, can automatically adjust as the user annotates. When the user finishes annotating the document, the annotations scale back with the zoom region to original page size. These novel features provide advantages over conventional techniques that do not contemplate multi-scale navigation during document annotating.
