Abstract: A method, system and product for compressing videos. The method comprising: obtaining a video that comprises a sequence of video frames, wherein the sequence of video frames comprises at least a first frame and a second frame, wherein the first frame is ordered before the second frame in the sequence of video frames; determining to preserve the first frame in its entirety; and in response to a determination to utilize a partial frame instead of the second frame: cropping the second frame to determine a cropped frame, wherein the cropped frame is smaller in at least one dimension than the second frame, wherein said cropping is based on an anchor location; whereby an alternative video can be constructed using the first frame and the cropped frame, wherein the alternative video does not include a remainder portion of the second frame in an explicit manner.
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for cloud gaming. In some examples, an apparatus for cloud gaming includes processing circuitry. For example, the processing circuitry receives a video sequence and metadata associated with the video sequence. The video sequence includes a sequence of picture frames generated in response to gaming control information, and the metadata is determined based on the gaming control information. The processing circuitry can determine, based on the metadata, an encoding configuration for encoding the video sequence. Then the processing circuitry encodes, based on the encoding configuration, the video sequence into a coded video bitstream.
Abstract: One example may include transmitting data between a client device and a server over a first channel, determining an error rate on at least one of the first channel and a second channel not mirrored with the first channel, when the error rate crosses a first error rate threshold then mirroring the first channel and the second channel, and when the error rate is between the first error rate threshold and a second error rate threshold that is different than the first error rate threshold, determining whether to continue mirroring or discontinue the mirroring of the first channel and the second channel.
