Abstract: A system is provided for forming a fire resistant wall structure from a wall having an exposed combustible component. A sheet member comprising cellulose fibers is interacted with a fire-retarding substance, wherein the fire-retarding substance is substantially uniformly distributed about the sheet member so as to render the sheet member substantially ignition-resistant. The sheet member has a major surface adapted to receive an aesthetic surface treatment, and is configured to be applied to the wall to at least partially cover the exposed combustible component. An adhesive material is configured to be applied between the sheet member and the wall so as to secure the sheet member to the wall, such that the major surface of the sheet member is exposed and so as to substantially prevent atmospheric oxygen from interacting with the combustible component. An associated method is also provided.

Abstract: The present application is directed to adhesive articles and release liners. Namely, the present application is directed to an article comprising an adhesive layer with a structured surface. The structured surface comprises a first groove and a second groove recessed into the adhesive layer from a reference plane defined by the adhesive surface on either rim of the groove. In some embodiments, the second groove is contained within the first groove, and in other embodiments the grooves are separate. The first groove and the second groove have walls. The wall angle of the first groove with respect to the reference plane is non-zero and is smaller than the wall angle of the second groove with respect to the reference plane. The application is also directed to release liners for the adhesive article, wherein the surface of the release liner is the inverse of the adhesive surface.

  • Patent number: 8263201
Abstract: A self-laminating rotating cable marker label is constructed of a transparent film having a first adhesive area, an adhesive-free smooth area, and a second adhesive area. A print-on area forms one side of the transparent film, the print-on area adapted to receive indicia identifying the cable about which the marker label is applied. A perforation extends across the transparent film providing a line of separation of the transparent film. When wrapped around a cable, the second adhesive area overlies the print-on area such that the cable identifying indicia is visible through the transparent second adhesive area. As the transparent film is wrapped around the cable, the first adhesive area adheres to the cable. The remainder of the transparent film is rotated, breaking the perforation, whereby the smooth area of the film in contact with the cable provides smooth rotation of the label around the cable.
