Abstract: A multi-layer heat resistant film laminate with good optical properties, extended shelflife, and memory characteristics and its method of manufacture, the laminate having the generalized structure of (outside) A/B/C/D/C/B/E (inside), where A is an outer moisture barrier layer, B is an intermediate adhesive layer, C is a polyamide layer D is an oxygen barrier layer, and E is a sealant layer.
Abstract: A melt-mixed blend of polyamide and grafted fluoropolymer having polar functionality exhibits surprisingly low permeability and can bond to fluoropolymer or polyamide without an intervening adhesive layer. The blend is useful as a component of laminates, such as fuel hose.
Abstract: A composite membrane and method for making the same, comprising a porous support and a crosslinked polyamide surface having polyalkylene oxide groups grafted thereto. The subject membrane provides improved resistance to fouling while offering excellent flux and salt passage performance. The subject method is easily adapted to commercial scale-up and does not require the use of chemical initiators.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrally molded article of polyamide resin comprising at least one primary molded pieces made of a primary molding material and at least one secondary molded pieces made of a secondary molding material, and having a welded part,
said secondary molding material being injection molded on the surface of said primary molded piece, thereby welding the secondary molded piece comprising the secondary molding material to said primary molded piece, and
said primary and secondary molding materials each comprising 100 parts by weight of a polyamide resin and 0.05 to 10 parts by weight of nigrosine or a nigrosine derivative.
Abstract: The shaped article consists of
a) from 5 to 95% by weight of a molding composition A made from at least one thermoplastic polyamide, copolyamide or blends of these as component A1, fillers and/or reinforcing materials, if desired, as component A2, impact modifiers as component A3 and other additives and processing aids as component A4, and
b) from 5 to 95% by weight of a molding composition B, made from at least one thermoplastic polyamide, copolyamide or blends of these as component B1, at least one crosslinked elastomeric polymer as component B2 and, if desired, other additives and processing aids as component B3,
where, in the shaped article, segments of molding compositions A and B are connected to one another over a relatively large area. These shaped articles may be used in the motor vehicle sector, for example as air or coolant ducts.
