  • Patent number: 9201040
Abstract: A gas sensor including coating layers (64) and (69) of fluorine or a fluorine compound formed on the surface of a separator (60), including a front separator (61) and a rear separator (66), disposed inside a sheath (30). The coating layers (64) and (69) have water impermeability and water repellency. Even in the case where moisture contained in the atmosphere within a sheath (30) forms dew on the surface of the separator (60), the coating layers (64) and (69) prevent soaking of moisture into the separator (60), to thereby secure the insulation property of the separator (60). Also, the coating layers (64) and (69) having water repellency prevent a water droplet from spreading on the surface of the separator (60) with resultant formation of a film of water, to thereby prevent flow of leakage current via a film of water.

Abstract: A dual-personality extended USB (EUSB) system supports both USB and EUSB devices using an extended 9-pin EUSB socket. Each EUSB device includes a PCBA having four standard USB metal contact pads, and several extended purpose contact springs disposed on an upper side of a PCB. A single-shot molding process is used to form a molded housing over passive components and IC dies disposed on the lower PCB surface. The passive components are mounted using SMT methods, and the IC dies are mounted using COB methods. The extended 9-pin EUSB socket includes standard USB contacts and extended use contacts that communicate with the PCBA through the standard USB metal contacts and the contact springs. The EUSB device is optionally used as a modular insert that is mounted onto a metal or plastic case to provide a EUSB assembly having a plug shell similar to a standard USB male connector.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for connecting a portable electronic device to a power source. The apparatus comprises a light that illuminates the charging port receptacle into which the connecting tip is inserted. In the field of devices that connect electronic devices to power sources, it is often difficult to see the charging port receptacle, especially in low light applications. It would therefore be desirable to have a light that shines on the charging port receptacle to facilitate inserting the connecting tip into the charging port receptacle. The apparatus comprises a housing, having a light, a connecting tip, a cord, and a connection to a power source. The light shines in the direction of the connecting tip, and thus, on to the charging port receptacle into which the connecting tip is inserted.
