The pattern roll rotates about an axis of rotation and includes a plurality of pattern surfaces, wherein the substrate is compressed between the anvil roll and the pattern surfaces of the pattern roll to form discrete bond regions in the substrate. The pattern surfaces on the pattern roll are formed on continuous threads extending circumferentially around the axis of rotation along helical paths parallel with each other. As such, the pattern surfaces press the substrate against the outer circumferential surface of the anvil roll in the different axial locations along the cross direction as the pattern roll rotates when forming the discrete bond regions.

A portion of the hob with the teeth generates the grooves that define the side faces of the protuberances. The grooves between the teeth of the hob have a profile that is curvilinear in a cross-sectional view. With a double pass at two different inclinations of the surface of the roller, the protuberances of FIGS. 5 and 6 are generated.

    Abstract: In a photosensitive material processing apparatus of the present invention, a brush roller used in a pre-water-washing section and a developing section is formed by winding a slender band wherein bristles are woven into a knitted fabric onto the peripheral surface of a roller which is a core member. This makes it possible to arrange the bristles closely and uniformly on the whole of the peripheral surface of the roller. Therefore, the brush roller can be applied to a photopolymer plate, which uses a non-polymerizable layer as a photosensitive layer and requires strong rubbing without causing brushing unevenness.

Accordingly, a more firmly adhered fitting body is prevented from being peeled off from the outer race of the bearing and the tire and the outer race of the bearing are prevented from separately racing even when the bearing is exposed to a heavy load and rotates at a high speed, that is, the roller is adhered so as to prevent the tire and the bearing from rotating relative to each other.

The ridges may extend in right-handed or left-handed orientation, or in other angled (non-radial and non-horizontal) manner.
