  • Patent number: 9032681
Abstract: A building construction system is provided having an elongated track (bypass clip track) that overlays a front edge of a concrete slab. The elongated track provides an even flat surface along an uneven concrete slab because the elongated track can be placed at adjustable distances from slab edges that may be uneven. The track is secured to a bracketing structure that has foam inserts that become embedded within the top and/or bottom surface of the concrete slab after the concrete hardens. By attaching the track to these foam inserts instead of the concrete directly, breakage or spalling of the slab edge is reduced. Studs are then attached to a stud attachment plate extending from the track, such that thereafter, a wall or façade may be attached to the track that overlays the uneven slab edge.

Abstract: A building insulation system for roofs and walls supported from the interior side of the building, which eliminates thermal bridges and bottom side ceiling fasteners to support the insulation system materials during the insulation and exterior sheeting process of the building construction. The insulation system creates an air gap space layer in roofs and in walls between the exterior wall and roof sheeting panels and the interior sheet material, which supports the insulation material layer. An air gap space enables active solar energy collection and its use to reduce the overall purchased energy for operation of the building. The insulation system preferably includes a support sheet material, a sheet material tensioning devices, an insulation material layer, insulation hanger retention devices, heat and air collection and distribution ducts, dampers, louvers, pipes, dehumidification and condensate collection devices used in the air gap layers of the building to improve the building energy efficiency.

  • Patent number: 8769898
Abstract: A facade/wall system comprises a number of modules. Each module comprises a plurality of insulating panels which have connection means on opposite sides thereof for interengaging the panels together at joints between the panels. Reinforcing elements in the form of top hat sections bridge the joints between adjacent panels. The top hat reinforcement elements used to interconnect adjacent panels in a module ensure that the composite panels act together as monolithic structure that creates a diaphragm while providing a surface to which cladding can be fixed and also providing a cavity between the panels and the cladding attached to the modules. They stiffen the panels and thereby enhance resistance to deflection. The system is cost effective and relatively easy and quick to install.
