Material Contains A Group Iib Metal Atom (zn, Cd, Hg) Patents (Class 528/281)
  • Patent number: 4171424
Abstract: Metal complexes of zinc, copper, cobalt and nickel and N-.beta.-hydroxyalkylated or .gamma.-aminoalkylated .alpha.-aminocarboxylic acids which are substituted at the .alpha.-carbon atom have excellent heat resistance, in particular a good heat resistance under oxydative influences. These complexes are also soluble in many starting components used for obtaining specific polymers. They are therefore especially suitable for obtaining copolymers which contain metal ions, for example polyesters, polyurethanes and polyamides. The copolymers can be used for manufacturing moulded articles.

  • Patent number: 4124566
Abstract: A process for preparing polyesters having superior thermal stability, transparency and chemical resistance, which comprises (1) a first step of esterifying (A) a difunctional carboxylic acid containing at least 60 mole% of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, (B) 0 to 80 mole%, based on component (A), of an aliphatic diol and/or a dihydroxybenzene and (C) an aromatic monohydroxy compound in an amount of at least 210 mole% as a total of it and component (B) based on component (A), the esterification being performed until the degree of esterification reaches at least 80%, (2) subsequently, a second step of adding 0 to 80 mole%, based on component (A), of component (B) and a bisphenol (D) in an amount of 100 to 130 mole% as a total of it and component (B) based on component (A) to the reaction product obtained in the first step and reacting the mixture, the total amount of components (B) used in the first and second steps being 0 to 80 mole% based on component (C), and (3) performing at least the first of the above st

  • Patent number: 4101496
Abstract: Liquid, highly pigmentable coating compositions containing little or no solvent and which are suitable for spray coating employ a binder consisting either ofA. 45-10% by weight of an aminoplast, a low-molecular weight precursor thereof, or a mixture thereof, andB. 55-90% of an at least bifunctional polyester, or a mixture thereof, having predominantly hydroxy end groups, a degree of condensation of between 2.5 and 10.5 and a molecular weight of up to 1,000, and prepared by condensing an alcohol component consisting of 0-30 molar percent of one or more 3-6 carbon atom polyols having 3-4 hydroxy groups and 100-70 molar percent of a mixture of diols consisting of 33-90 molar percent of ethylene glycol and 67-10 molar percent of 1,2-propanediol, or a condensation product of A and B.
