  • Patent number: 4742088
Abstract: Nitrogen-containing 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide derivatives are prepared by condensation of the oxide with amines and aldehydes or ketones. They may be used as additive flame retardants or incorporated into synthetic resins such as polyesters and polyurethane foams, by copolymerization to form flame-retardant resins. They may also be used as antioxidants, germicides or herbicides.

  • Patent number: 4727177
Abstract: Antistatic agents for synthetic fibers comprising a specific type of quaternary ammonium alkyl phosphate as principal constituent and 1 weight percent or less of by-product alkali metal halides have improved antistatic characteristics both in high and low humidity conditions and reduce the amount of deposits that fall off, yellowing by a heat treatment and generation of rust. Methods of producing such antistatic agents are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4600429
Abstract: Novel guanidated aminophosphonic acid compounds their use as biocides and their intermediates. The compounds are guanidated N-(aminoalkyl) aminoalkanephosphonic acid derivatives and are characterized in that they comprise both a phosphonic acid type group and at least one guanidino group and also in that they are based on alkylene amines. The compounds have the general formula: ##STR1## wherein Z and Z' are hydrogen, a lower alkyl group or an alkali metal, Y is hydrogen or an amidine group, m is 1-3, n is 4-16 and p is 1-3. The compounds can be prepared by reacting a halogenoalkanephosphonic acid compound with an alkylene di- or polyamine followed by guanidation of the so obtained product. The compounds are particularly useful as fungicides and especially as fungicides for industrial purposes.
