With Housing For Drive Or Support Patents (Class 57/406)
  • Patent number: 6052985
Abstract: A device for producing a twisted yarn in a combined spinning and twisting process has two open end spinning rotors positioned in a stationary protective pot, a hollow spindle axle into which the spun yarns produced by the spinning rotors are introduced, and a yarn guide channel extending radially from the spindle axle and driven in rotation about the spindle axis for guiding the yarn formed by the spun yarns. The yarn exits from the yarn guide channel and is guided external to the protective pot counter to the guiding direction within the spindle axle to a centering point positioned on an extension of the spindle axle. A device for supplying a dissolved fiber material to the two open end spinning rotors is provided. Two slide bearings for supporting the spinning rotor shafts, an electric motor with a drive member resting at the spinning rotor shafts, and for each spinning rotor two guide rollers are arranged within the protective pot.

Abstract: In a method for a contact-free energy and signal transmission for a textile machine between a first stationary part and a second stationary part separated by an air gap, wherein at least one component consisting of an electrically non-conducting material is moved through the air gap, wherein an alternating current signal of a frequency of at least 10 kHz is inductively transmitted by a transformer, having a primary side arranged at the first stationary part and a secondary side arranged at the second stationary part, wherein the primary side and the secondary side are separated by the air gap, a transformer is employed having only one coil pair. Energy and signals are transmitted via the one coil pair by a common carrier signal. The carrier signal provides energy transmission. The signals to be transmitted are imprinted onto the carrier signal as a frequency modulation such that the carrier signal jumps between two frequency values having a fixed spacing.

Abstract: For an aerostatic bearing (6) of an open-end spinning rotor, in which the bearing material consists of a wearable material, a wear indicator (9) is provided on the bearing plate (601) of the axial bearing (6) so that the state of wear of the axial bearing (6) can be checked by simple optical inspection. The wear indicator (9) can be integrated into the running surface (610) and be made e.g. in the form of a blind bore (91), so that the presence of the bore indicates that the wear lies still within the admissible limits.

  • Patent number: 5850730
Abstract: In the course of the installation or removal of an opening roller, the opening fittings, which for example consist of many pointed needles or a sawblade-shaped metal strip, represent a considerable risk of injury. So far no devices are known in connection with opening rollers driven by individual motors which, make unintended starting of the rollers impossible while being replaced and serviced. In accordance with the invention, an opening device has a locking and unlocking device which assures an orderly operation of the opening roller driven by an individual motor and also assures that while servicing or installing the opening roller no danger of injuries can occur, for example because of an unintended starting of the opening roller.

Abstract: In the case of a feeding and opening device for an open-end spinning arrangement, a stationarily mounted sliver support is arranged at the end of the sliver to be opened to single fibers. The sliver support comprises a deflecting edge for deflecting the sliver, and a supporting surface, which presses the end of the sliver somewhat tangentially onto the opening roller. The sliver support is exchangeably affixed to an opening roller housing, which consists of two housing parts, between which the sliver support is clamped without gaps. One housing part serves essentially to support the opening roller and the other housing part serves essentially to cover the peripheral side of the opening roller.

Abstract: A supporting ring for a supporting ring bearing of the rotor of an open end rotor spinning machine for the optical control of a joining carriage and having at least one reflecting region on an otherwise substantially non-reflecting axial ring surface (2) of the supporting ring (1) facing a light source, wherein one or more cupped receptacles (6) are provided for in the ring surface (2) into which reflectors (3) can be inserted and secured, and wherein an interruption of a rotational motion of the supporting ring (1) about a rotational axis (4a) is optically recognized by the joining carriage to start a joining carriage execution procedure, is characterized in that the depth of a receptacle (6) is larger than the thickness of a reflector (3) which can be placed therein. In this fashion the disadvantages of conventional supporting rings having reflectors can be avoided and optimal reflection can easily be restored at any time after wear of individual reflectors.

  • Patent number: 5755087
Abstract: An open-end spinning device has a spinning rotor defining a fiber collection groove between a rotor bottom and an open-end of the spinning rotor. The rotor further includes a wall extending from the fiber collection groove to the open end of generally less than 6.0 mm. A rotor cover has an extension reaching into the interior of the spinning rotor. The extension includes at least a portion of a fiber feeding channel for feeding a fiber and air mixture into the rotor. A feed surface is disposed essentially parallel to a plane through a fiber collection groove into the extension adjacent the fiber feeding channel so that fibers exiting the feeding channel are directed along the feed surface. The feed surface has a radial dimension so that an open radial distance of less than 4.0 mm exists between the feed surface and the wall or fiber collection groove which is directly radially opposite of the feed surface.

  • Patent number: 5749216
Abstract: In the case of an open-end spinning arrangement, a spinning rotor is arranged in a rotor housing, to which a vacuum of at least 500 mm water column is applied. A fibre feed channel, beginning at an opening roller with an entry opening, is directed with an outlet opening at a sliding wall of the spinning rotor. The fibre feed channel bends slightly in the direction towards a fibre collecting groove of the spinning rotor. The cross sectional area of the outlet opening of the fibre feed channel measures at least 19 mm.sup.2 and amounts to at least 30% of the cross sectional area of the entry opening. As a result of the bend in the fibre feed channel, the fibres are collected together in a fibre bundle on a longitudinal side of the fibre feed channel. The fibre bundle occupies only a part area of the outlet opening when leaving the fibre feed channel and is fed with high precision onto the sliding wall. The outlet opening can thus have larger dimensions without this leading to inaccurate feeding of the fibres.
