  • Publication number: 20120160000
Abstract: A pin-tumbler locking mechanism comprising a lock-core with an elongated key slot and a series of bores arranged in a plane of the key slot for a corresponding series of driver pins of various lengths slidably received in the bores. The lock-core is normally supported in lock casing. A corresponding series of spring-supported key pins is seated in a series of bores coaxially with the driver pins so that normally at least some of the key pins are adapted to push respective driver pins to project into the key slot each by a different extent according to the respective lengths thereof; a key comprising alternately teeth and notches so that when inserted into the key slot, the driver pin ends contacting the key pins become flushed with planar surface to allow a sliding movement of the lock-core within the lock casing.

  • Publication number: 20120042701
Abstract: A lock includes a stationary key mass having a first key mass bore and a keyway, and a movable spring mass including a first spring mass bore. A first spring mass pin is mounted in the first spring mass bore, and a first key mass pin is mounted in the first key mass bore for reciprocation between a locked position immobilizing the spring mass and an unlocked position unconstraining motion in at least one direction. The unlocked position is a function of the presence of a matching key in the keyway. Multiple key mass and spring mass pins can be used, some or all of which can have stepped configurations, and corresponding single-bladed or multi-bladed keys, or multiple keys, can be used. The keys can be straight or curved in any of various planes, or they can be straight but flexible to match curved keyways. Curves can be unidirectional or compound. Relative motion between the key mass and spring mass can be in a plane or along straight line or circular.

  • Patent number: 7956741
Abstract: A tumbler-type lock apparatus for use with a tumbler-type card key having a code pattern region including an array of holes and non-hole portions that expresses a key code of the tumbler-type card key. The tumbler-type lock apparatus includes a slider case and a slider movable relative to the slider case when the tumbler-type card key is inserted into the tumbler-type lock apparatus. Tumblers extending in the slider case and slider each correspond to one of the holes or non-hole portions. Springs bias the tumblers towards the slider. The tumbler-type lock apparatus verifies the tumbler-type card key when the tumblers are engaged with the slider case and slider during insertion of the tumbler-type card key. The slider includes accommodation portions. A distal end of the tumbler that has passed through the corresponding hole of the tumbler-type card key is accommodated in the corresponding accommodation portion.

  • Patent number: 7793528
Abstract: A lock operated by a corresponding key. The lock has a housing, and a keyway is formed in the housing along a keyway axis for receiving the corresponding key therein. A latch is moveable with respect to the housing between a first position, wherein the lock is secured, and a second position, wherein the lock is not secured. A permutation surface is formed on the latch, and a plurality of intermediaries are disposed within the housing. Each intermediary has a first portion engageable with the permutation surface of the latch and a second portion engageable with the corresponding key, wherein insertion of the corresponding key into the keyway selectively engages the intermediaries with the permutation surface in a predetermined sequence, thereby moving the latch from the first position to the second position.

  • Publication number: 20100077812
Abstract: An unlocking device includes a casing mounted to a side of a lock having a keyhole. A movable body is rotatably received in the casing about an axis. The movable body has a closed end having a hole. A key receiving seat is received in the movable body and has a key receiving hole. The keyhole is normally blocked by the closed end of the movable body. The movable body can be rotated to align the hole with the keyhole and the key receiving hole. A block is fixed to the movable body and includes a through-hole extending along the axis. A manually rotatable linking rod extends through the through-hole and has an engaging portion for coupling a key received in the key receiving hole. The key can be moved into the keyhole by moving the linking rod along the axis and can be rotated for locking or unlocking operation.

  • Publication number: 20090266123
Abstract: The invention relates to a lock device comprising a key and a lock cylinder, said lock cylinder comprising a fixed cylinder housing and a cylinder core mounted to rotate therein. The key shaft (10.3) has an edge profile and may be inserted in a key way of the cylinder core in which displaceable tumblers (41, 42) are located transverse to the above. The key shaft (10.3) has profiled recesses running in the longitudinal direction, comprising a pair of follow points for each tumbler (41, 42) for coding the key, whilst the tumbler (41, 42) has a pair of counter follow points which are the basis of the corresponding counter coding. According to this invention, a space-saving design of the lock device may be achieved with a large range of variation for the coding wherein both follow points are on the key shaft (10.3) in the form of recesses, arranged on opposing lateral surfaces to an edge (57.2; 57.3) of the edge profile of the key shaft (10.3).
