Abstract: An air brake lock assembly helps to prevent air brake actuation knobs from being actuated. The air brake lock in accordance with the present invention is a theft-prevention device that mounts over the air brake knobs on the dash of a semi-truck cab. It is installed between the dash and the knobs and, when locked, the assembly prevents the knobs from being pushed in. If the air brake knobs cannot be pushed back in, the air brake will remain locked and the truck and trailer will remain immobile. In one embodiment of the present invention, the assembly includes a base and an enclosure for each brake knob. An air brake lock is disposed between the knobs such that the knobs can be selectively locked and unlocked. In one embodiment, the assembly is spring-loaded. Abstract: A lockset is actuable by pivoting a handle about a longitudinal axis of the lockset by rotating the handle and by pivoting the handle about an axis transverse to the lockset axis, such as by pushing or pulling. The lockset includes an inside handle and an outside handle, each associated with an independent mechanism, each of which can independently actuate the lockset. A locking mechanism prevents actuation of a first one of the independent handle mechanisms without affecting operation of the other handle mechanism. Upon actuation of the other handle mechanism, a retractor engages a surface of the locking mechanism and removes it from engagement with the first locking mechanism. An adjustment ring has a first configuration that centers the lockset in a door having a first standard thickness and a second configuration that centers the lockset in a door having a second standard thickness.

Abstract: A compression latch is provided having a lock bolt operated via a codable cylinder lock. The lock bolt includes a guide having first and second inner surfaces. The lock includes a rotatable portion having a cam with a projection that is movable between the first and second inner surfaces. When the rotatable portion of the cylinder lock rotates via the key to cause the projection to move from a first position to a second position, the projection contacts the second inner surface and urges the lock bolt to engage a control member which prevents a handle of the compression latch from rotating. When the rotatable portion rotates via the key to cause the projection to move from the second position to the first position, the projection contacts the first inner surface and urges the lock bolt to disengage from the control member, which enables the handle to rotate.

Abstract: A lock has a body holding a locking member that can be locked to or released from the body by, for example, operation of a key. The lock includes an alarm that is triggered by the locking of the locking member. If, however, the lock is unlocked and relocked within a predetermined time interval, the alarm is disarmed. In this way, the lock can remain locked but with the alarm disarmed. The signals that cause the alarm to arm and disarm can be produced in any convenient way.

Abstract: A lock includes a body, a key-operable locking mechanism and a rotational indicator. The locking mechanism includes a spindle and a block. The spindle includes a key hole in an end and is connected, at another end, to the block to allow the block to be rotated from a locking position to an unlocking position. The indicator is disposed in the lock body, and includes, at a front end, a recess for receiving the block. With the indicator in the original position, as the block is rotated to the unlocking position, the block pushes a first side wall of the recess of the indicator to rotate the indicator to an indicating position. When the indicator is in the indicating position, a space is defined between a second side wall of the recess of the indicator and the block, and the block is moved in the space.

Abstract: A switch restricting assembly includes a mechanical joiner that is placed around a switch of an electronic device, such as a smart phone, to prevent the device from being turned on or off. In another embodiment, the assembly includes a case that surrounds the power button to prevent access. The joiner locks the case in position over the switch. The switch can also be a power switch, volume switch, a frequency switch, and a configuration switch. The joiner forms a physical barrier over the power switch for restricting access to the power switch. Also, the joiner can secure an external physical barrier, such as a case over the power switch to restrict access. A key releases the joiner from the power switch. Restricting access to the power switch allows a tracking device in the electronic device to remain powered on to facilitate recovery of stolen devices.
