  • Patent number: 4452059
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lock system comprising a lock of the type where the combination of the lock is given by a more or less platelike code member which may be removed and substituted and where the lock is operated by means of a more or less platelike key member. The key member is equipped with a code adapted to the code of the code member. The lock comprises a housing and means intended to be activated by the code of the code member and/or the code of the key member, said means reading the codes. Parts of the code on the key member may be read mechanically, using blocking pins while parts of the code may be read optically and/or electronically by means of light diodes emitting infrared light.

  • Patent number: 4432142
Abstract: A key reading system including a key having a plurality of rows of reading positions, each reading position cooperating with a reading position in each other row to form a set of reading positions. The reading system includes a clock line which senses all but one of the total number of code combinations of each set as a clock pulse, thus eliminating the need for a separate clock pulse row.

  • Patent number: 4338805
Abstract: A lock including a lock casing (1), a locking mechanism (2) dislaceable therein and connected to a latch bolt (2a) and block means (12), which are movable transversally to the displacement direction of the locking mechanism and resiliently loaded (14) towards positions blocking the locking mechanism, wherein the blocking means can be brought to releasing positions by insertion of a card (3) serving as a key and having recesses (3a) corresponding to the blocking means. The blocking means (12) are preferably annular and entirely guided in the displaceable locking mechanism (2) as well as moveable between two blocking end positions, in which each blocking means is in locking engagement with the lock casing (1a,1b). The card (3) belonging to the lock has through-going, elongated slits (3a) located and dimensioned to receive the annular blocking means (12), so that upon insertion of the card all the blocking means (12) are brought to intermediate positions permitting the displacement of the locking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4287737
Abstract: A lock mechanism operated by a slidable non-rotating perforated plate key having perforations disposed at random points thereon. The lock mechanism employs a slidable lock bolt controlled by a rotatable handle. A transversely slidable control rod is engageable within a groove formed in the lock bolt for holding the latter locked in its latched position. The control rod slidably extends through an opening formed in a transversely movable operating rod, the latter being spring-urged into a position of engagement with the control rod to normally maintain the control rod in its position of engagement within the groove. The plate key slidably coacts with the operating rod to displace same whereby it releases the control rod, whereupon the control rod is spring-urged downwardly through the opening in the operating rod so as to withdraw the control rod from the groove, thereby unlocking the lock bolt.

  • Patent number: 4266415
Abstract: A door lock, in particular a lock for hotel room doors. Actuation of the exterior door handle creates a supply of compressed air which is directed through a coding assembly to actuate a lock release member. The operation of the coding assembly is controlled by a pair of matching punched cards. One of the cards is normally positioned within the lock and the other card is retained by an authorized user for insertion into the lock to operate the coding assembly. Two separate coding assemblies are provided with a hotel door lock, one being for use by a guest and the other under the control of the hotel management.

  • Patent number: 4164857
Abstract: A cylinder which does not have a plug but has selectors and cooperating pin tumblers controlled thereby under influence of a key which is thrust rectilinearly into the key way and which selectors are actuated by a bolt or the like.

  • Patent number: 4149394
Abstract: Lock apparatus comprising a housing in which is movably supported a locking member for movement between locked and unlocked positions. The housing and locking member have aligned bores containing blocking pins supported for movement between a first position in which the locking member is movable relative to the housing and a second position in which the blocking pins block movement of the locking member relative to the housing. A plate-like key member and a plate-like code member are respectively insertable into slots provided in the housing. The bores in the housing and locking member are arranged in a predetermined pattern and the plate-like members have respective regions corresponding to the location of the bores in the pattern.

  • Patent number: 4111018
Abstract: The specification describes a lock and coded key for operating the lock. The lock comprises a housing having a keyhole, a rotatable actuating member, a locking mechanism provided with a lockable portion moveable from a locking position to an unlocking position, first locking means, second locking means, a pusher member for pushing the key into contact with the first locking means, and a locking member. The lockable portion is normally held in the locking position by the first locking means. The second locking means is normally in a release position but is arranged so as to lock the lockable portion in its locking position when a key bearing an incorrect code is inserted in the lock. The key is coded to move the first locking means to a release position without disturbing the second locking means. The lockable portion is tensioned to move to the unlocking position when both the first and second locking means are in a release position.

  • Patent number: 3943737
Abstract: A lock mechanism comprises a plug slidably to a home position into a cavity of a block which plug has a recess for receiving side-by-side plates.Said block has a receptacle for receiving a similar set of spring biased plates. The front base of said plug a keyway with rectangular cross section communicates with said recess at a position close to the bottom thereof. A key is also provided for said mechanism which is made up of as many bars as are the plates. The plates in said recess have a bevelled corner. The bevel plane of the plates and of the key bars being the same. When the key is inserted home into said plug the bevelled point of each bar of the key engages the bevelled corner of a corresponding plate in the recess and lifts it to come flush with its upper edge with said recess aperture whereby the mechanism is unlocked. When the key is withdrawn from said slot the plates in said receptacle are moved by the related springs to enter the plug recess and block the mechanism thereby.
