Abstract: A cylinder lock is disclosed having significant resistance to damage or tampering. The cylinder lock comprises a cam provided on the key cylinder; and a pair of pins disposed radially slidably in openings provided in the sleeve rotatably disposed within a casing. The pins are moved within the openings of the sleeve by the cam on the key cylinder which is rotatably positioned within the sleeve when the key cylinder is turned by a proper key independently of the sleeve to a predetermined angle, as tumblers provided within the key cylinder are disengaged from the sleeve. Then, the pin comes into engagement with and is rotated with the connector together to unlock the lock device.

  • Patent number: 5265453
Abstract: A cylinder lock is disclosed having significant resistance to damage or tampering. The cylinder lock comprises an axial cam provided on the key cylinder; a rotator which may be engaged with the sleeve and be in contact with the axial cam of the key cylinder; a stopper positioned adjacent to the rotator and having a pair of lugs engageable with a recess of the casing; and an axial spring positioned between the stopper and a connector for resiliently urging the stopper toward the rotator. The rotator and stopper are axially moved by the axial cam of the key cylinder to release engagement of the rotator with the sleeve and also to release engagement of the stopper with the casing when the key cylinder is rotated independently of the sleeve by a correct key, thereby the rotator comes into engagement with the connector. By further rotating the key cylinder, the rotator, stopper and connector are rotated as a unit to a locked or unlocked position.

  • Patent number: 5212972
Abstract: A tamper resistant pop-handle lock is disposed in the door of a vending machine or similar closure, and is used to restrict operation of a spring-biased handle which is seated in a recessed housing and is adapted for manually latching and unlatching the door. The lock has a cylindrical barrel and a rotatable key plug mounted within an opening in the barrel. An axially extending eccentric lug at the inner end of the plug is received in a recess formed on a retractable locking bolt, such that rotation of the plug relative to the barrel causes the locking bolt to move through a second opening in the barrel. A first stop washer is provided having two slots therein, one slot receiving the first lug to allow limited rotation of the first washer relative to the barrel and the other slot receiving the second lug to allow limited rotation of the first washer relative to the plug. A second stop washer is also provided having two slots therein, one of the slots receiving the first lug to allow limited rotation of the second washer relative to the barrel and the other slot receiving the second lug to allow limited rotation of the second washer relative to the plug. A spring is provided to rotationally bias the stop washers in opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 4683733
Abstract: A door locking mechanism enclosed within a casing for locking a door to its door frame. The door lock includes at least one bolt displaceable inside the casing through a bore in a side wall thereof, to engage a registering bore in the door frame. A base leg is fixed to the rear of the bolt, and includes a Y-shaped notch. A conventional keylock cylinder is fixed within the casing, and a key operated barrel is journalled within the cylinder and offset from the center of the latter and has a radially-outwardly-projecting lug. An annular member is rotatably mounted around the keylock cylinder between two opposite casing walls, and includes an inner projection and an outer operating arm which engages the Y-shaped notch of the base leg.

Abstract: An actuating structure is provided for a switch lock having a barrel with a plug which is key actuated for rotation therein. An actuator interconnects the rotatable plug with a rotatable shaft of the switch and cooperates with a rotatable stop plate connected to a return spring. Specifically, an actuator lug and a stop plate surface which engage upon rotation of the plug in one direction to turn the switch momentarily from the first position to a second position against the action of the spring. The actuator also rotates in the opposite direction independently of the stop plate to turn the switch from the first to a third position.

  • Patent number: 4634822
Abstract: A key actuated tubular lock capable of a plurality of locking operations, each with switch operating capability, includes a substantially cylindrical outer barrel, key actuated locking spindle means, including a stationary sleeve and a rotatable sleeve, disposed within the barrel and a multiple operation switch operating assembly rigidly attached in a removable manner and adapted to be operated by rotation of the locking spindle through use of a proper key. The multiple operation assembly includes a switch subassembly, having a microswitch and a switch operating member associated therewith, positioned within a switch retention area in the rear end portion of the barrel in such a way that the operating member is contacted so as to turn the microswitch "off" when the locking spindle is in a first position and "on" when the spindle is key actuated to a second position.

  • Patent number: 4587816
Abstract: A lock assembly of the type mounted on a door or like closure structure and including two lock cylinders each at least partially encased and surrounded by a casing structure each of which has reinforcing means formed thereon so as to prevent collapse or destruction of said casing structure upon receiving an extreme force such as a blow with a hammer or the like. An activating structure is interconnected between a bolt element and each of the lock cylinders such that rotation of either lock cylinder, as by a key, causes at least partial rotation of the activating structure and linear movement of the bolt element into either an extended or retracted position.

Abstract: The invention relates to a rotatable connection device for a driving part (1) to a driven part (2), wherein the driven part has a rotational play relative to the driving part. The driving part (1) exhibits at least two axial elastic dogs (3, 4) which end in radial teeth (5, 6) and cooperate with circular arcuate slots (8, 9) in the driven part (2), which exhibit enlarged regions (11, 13) for the passage of the radial teeth (5, 6), and with a securing part (14). This securing part (14) is provided with holes (15, 16) to receive the elastic dogs (3, 4), and a bendable strap (17, 18), which is present at each hole (15, 16), after being bent behind the dogs (3, 4), comes into abutment opposite the teeth (5, 6) at their ends. Any accidental disassembly is prevented by this means.

  • Patent number: 4414828
Abstract: A locking apparatus for a compartment door operated by a key comprises an outer cylinder fixed in the compartment door, a rotor inserted into the cylinder, a plurality of locking plates inserted into the rotor radially slidably to engage with the cylinder, one or more engaging plates inserted into the rotor radially slidably, a ring surrounding the rotor independently rotatable with respect to the rotor, a lip projected from the ring engageable with the engaging plates, operating means to rotate the ring, and engaging means maintains the door closed and releasable by the rotor. In door-opening operation, the rotor is rotated by the key from a locking position to an releasing position, then the key is removed to engage the ring with rotor. This engagement enables the operating means to rotate the rotor through the ring.
