  • Patent number: 5950461
Abstract: A lock mechanism structure includes a pair of latches with one end of each latch positioned against a spring and the other end of which are engaged with a rod. A block has a spring urging the block outwardly which in turn urges the latches outwardly to extend into a recess, whereas the other end of the block has a slope surface engaging with a corresponding slanting surface on a bulge extending upward from a rotating plate of a lock core, thus, when opening the lock, the lock core rotates to bring the bulge to push the block upwardly, whereas the other end of the block descends to urge the spring to retract, this allows the latch to detach from the recess and the lock is in a released status.

  • Patent number: 5775145
Abstract: A lock assembly is provided which includes a shell having a front end, a rear end, and a central bore extending from the front end to the rear end. The lock assembly also includes a key operated plug axially aligned and rotatably and removably disposed within the central bore of the shell. The lock assembly further includes a cam module rotatably mounted on the rear end of the shell. A key is provided which is insertable into the plug and allows for the removal of the plug from the shell. When the key operated plug is removed from the shell, a tool can be inserted through the central bore in the shell and into the cam module for rotationally moving the cam module relative to the shell, thereby unlocking the lock assembly.

  • Patent number: 5775147
Abstract: The invention is directed to a locking device with a locking cylinder which is formed of a cylinder guide and a cylinder core which is rotatably supported therein. When the key is withdrawn, the cylinder core is locked with the cylinder guide via spring-loaded tumblers. The cylinder guide is rotatably supported in the housing, but is fixed with respect to rotation therein via a catch when the key is rotated. When the key is inserted, the rotation of the cylinder core is transmitted, via a radially spring-loaded and radially displaceable radial slide, to a driver performing the locking functions in the lock. The catch has a push-rod by means of which the spring-loaded radial slide can be controlled so that the transmission of torque to the driver is interrupted when the locking cylinder is forcibly rotated.

  • Patent number: 5732580
Abstract: A motor vehicle door lock or the like comprises a locking mechanism for securing and releasing the door, operated by a lock which is disengageable from the locking mechanism. The disengageable lock comprises a stator, a tubular intermediate sleeve, a rotor operable by a key, and a control lever for actuating the locking mechanism. The control lever is coupled to the rotor through a driving sleeve. The lock also includes an indexer which is moveable axially between a rest, or engaged, position and a disengaged position when the intermediate sleeve is rotated during actuation of the rotor by an incorrect key. This axial movement of the indexer displaces the driving member axially to a position in which the driving member is prevented from rotating. The indexer is fixed in rotation to the intermediate sleeve, and is also free to rotate with respect to the stator when in the disengaged position.

  • Patent number: 5640864
Abstract: The cylinder lock according to the present invention comprises a latch 19 movably disposed between the joint position connecting the key cylinder 16 and a driver 18 and the release position disengaging the key cylinder 16 and a driver 18; and a clutch 20 for transferring the latch 19 to the release position when a sleeve 13 rotates relatively to a housing 11 with an improper key. When a proper key is inserted into the key cylinder 16, it can be rotated without rotation of the sleeve 13 so that the driver 18 can be rotated to the locked or unlocked position through the latch 19 which drivingly connects the key cylinder 16 and the driver 18. When an improper key is inserted into the key cylinder 16 and rotated, the sleeve 13 is rotated with the key cylinder 16 through tumblers 17 so that radial movement of the clutch 20 disengages the latch 19 and driver 18, thereby preventing unauthorized unlocking of the cylinder lock 10 without rotation of the driver 18.

  • Patent number: 5630331
Abstract: A cylinder shaft projects from a key cylinder along the center line of a sleeve, and first and second case shafts project from a case. A spring is coiled on the first case shaft, and the cylinder shaft is placed between the first and second case shafts. The cylinder shaft and the second case shaft are placed between both legs of the spring. When the key cylinder is rotated with respect to the sleeve by the proper key being inserted in the key cylinder, the spring imparts returning force to the cylinder shaft that is making an arcuate movement in a circular-arc groove formed in the case.

  • Patent number: 5265454
Abstract: A combined lock and latch for use with an exterior compartment door on a recreational vehicle has a cylindrical barrel and a rotatable plug mounted within an axial opening formed in the barrel. A number of spring-biased, key retractable tumblers extend through the plug and are received in a narrow slot formed in the barrel to prevent the plug from rotating relative to the barrel when the plug is in a locked position. Abstract: The lock comprises an improvement in a lock of the type having a cylinder with an associated internal cavity, a key operated lock plug rotatably mounted in the cylinder cavity and a coupling mounted for rotation relative to the lock cylinder for association with a lock member that is movable upon rotation of the coupling between locked and open states. Shoulders are provided on the plug and coupling and upon effecting relative rotation between the coupling and plug through a change key the shoulders can be selectively brought into interfering, facing relationship to prohibit withdrawal of the plug or misaligned to allow removal of the plug. An access key, that is longer than the change key, in a fully seated position in the plug keyway, extends into the coupling opening and is thereby keyed to the coupling so that turning of the control key directly operates the coupling. Structure is provided for preventing shifting of the lock member from its locked state in the absence of a key being in the keyway.

Abstract: A lever type lockset with a rolling housing within a main housing. The roller housing normally only touches the main housing at the rollers and also connects to the latch portion of a lockset. The side plates of the roller are constructed separately from the roller housing so that they can be made thicker and more durable. The inner and outer spindle each have a curved elbow on it which is shaped somewhat like two boomerangs joined together on adjacent distal ends for minimizing local stress concentrations. The side plate also has a curved surface which is designed to offer minimal resistance to the elbows so that the handle can be turned with very little resistance.
