Tampering Prevention Or Attack Defeating Patents (Class 70/416)
  • Patent number: 7895865
Abstract: The present application relates to lock assemblies that provide a secondary coupling point, utilizing an anti-rotation pin or extended tailpiece leg or other method, which rotationally couples the tailpiece to the cylinder plug, thereby preventing rotation of the tailpiece independently of the cylinder plug. Therefore, a tailpiece within a bolt cam or other actuator used to withdraw a bolt or unlock a lockset cannot be rotated after the tailpiece connector connecting the tailpiece to the cylinder plug has been forcibly removed, severed, or destroyed.

  • Patent number: 7802828
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention are illustrated. A first embodiment is a safety cover for a deadbolt of a door. The cover includes a housing having a first open end and a second open end. The housing is mounted to the door and positioned to substantially surround the deadbolt with the first open end and to contain a deadbolt actuator knob of the deadbolt within a cavity formed from the housing. The safety cover includes a cap mountable, via the second open end, into snug mating engagement with the interior of the housing. The cap is positioned such that upon actuation the cap slides axially within the housing until an inner wall of the cap meets the deadbolt actuator knob and wherein upon further actuation the inner wall grips and rotates the deadbolt actuator knob.

Abstract: A shield device is for fastener(s) of a lock assembly that is adjustable between inoperable and operable states, each fastener including a head and being removably engageable with a door to connect the lock assembly therewith. The shield device includes a barrier displaceable between a first position, where the barrier covers the fastener head to prevent removal of the fastener, and a second position where the fastener is accessible to permit removal. The barrier is disposed in the first position when the lock is in the inoperable state and in the second position when the lock is in the operable state. Preferably, the lock assembly includes a member that adjusts the lock assembly between the operable and inoperable states and the barrier is coupled with the member. • Patent number: 6910357
Abstract: A lock includes a lock housing (3), a bolt (20) which is moveable in the lock housing between an inwardly withdrawn and an outwardly extended position and which includes a weakened region (36). The lock also includes a blocking element (5) fixedly arranged in the lock housing, an interlocking device (12, 14, 16), and a bolt-carried abutment element (34) which is adapted to coact with the interlocking device (16). When the bolt is subjected to an outer force that exceeds a generally predetermined force, the bolt will deform in the weakened region (36) so that movement of the bolt between the outwardly extended and inwardly withdrawn positions will be blocked by the fixedly mounted blocking element (5).
