Order Filling Patents (Class 700/216)
  • Patent number: 11008167
Abstract: Robotic automation and methods described herein can be used to enhance the efficiencies of order fulfillment and inventory stowage processes. For example, this document describes the use of mobile robots in conjunction with a human order picker to pick and transport items for order fulfillment processes in an efficient manner. The described systems and methods allow the elimination of human labor particularly related to transporting saleable goods and similar items. Mobile robots take over many of the tasks related to transporting the picked items. Accordingly, the efficiency of the human order picker, as measured by the number of line items picked per hour for example, is greatly enhanced.

Abstract: Various examples of methods and systems for prioritizing identifier in cost-based inventory allocation are described. In one implementation, a method may determine a shipping cost sensitivity of each identifier of a plurality of identifiers of a plurality of items in an inventory, the shipping cost sensitivity of each identifier related to sales volume, billable weight and shipping zone associated with the respective identifier. The method may also rank the plurality of identifiers based at least in part on the shipping cost sensitivity of each identifier. The method may further determine an order of allocation of the inventory of the plurality of items based at least in part on the ranking of the plurality of identifiers.

Abstract: A pharmaceutical order verification system and method for an automated pharmacy system is disclosed. A computerized line control application controls a dispensing line, facilitates automated dispensing of drugs into vials, and collects and records data for dispensed drug as well as each verification step performed by a pharmacist. In an example embodiment, pharmacist verification occurs in connection with replenishing the drugs in automated tablet counters and in connection with verifying a specified percentage of orders for each automated tablet counter. During the replenishment process, the pharmacist verifies that a replenishment canister has been loaded with the correct drug in the appropriate dosage and strength. During the order verification step, a pharmacist verifies the contents of vial matches the prescription order data.

Abstract: Systems and methods related to roadmaps for mobile robotic devices are provided. A computing device can determine a roadmap that includes a first intersection associated with first and second edges. The computing device can determine an edge interaction region (EIR) surrounding the first intersection that includes portions of the first and second edges, where a traversal region on the first edge portion can overlap a traversal region on the second edge portion. The computing device can determine first and second sub-edges of the first edge; the first sub-edge within the EIR and the second sub-edge outside the EIR. The computing device can receive a request to determine a route, determine the route specifying travel along the first sub-edge with a first rule set and along the second sub-edge with a second rule set, and provide the route.

Abstract: Features are disclosed for providing guidance regarding robotic traffic density to humans working in the same physical area as robots. Through analysis of the planned and/or historical routes of the robotic traffic, traffic densities can be identified for the physical area. The densities may be used to generate a heat map or other visual display for presentation to human workers. This allows the workers to move through the physical area with a better understanding of where robot traffic is dense and how to best avoid interrupting those assets.
