  • Patent number: 11868954
Abstract: Techniques for facilitating returns of ordered items include receiving, by a control device, a first code associated with an order, determining that the code corresponds to a valid order, and granting access to a controlled access area where a user may examine the ordered items. If a second code associated with a particular item is received by the control device, a determination is made that the code corresponds to an item associated with the order, and access to a container within the controlled access area is granted. Once an item is placed in the container, sensors in the container determine characteristics of the item. If the determined characteristics correspond to item data that indicates the expected characteristics of the item, data indicative of a return of the item is generated.

  • Patent number: 11869065
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems and techniques for identifying events that occur within an environment using image data captured at the environment. For example, one or more cameras may generate image data representative of a user interacting with an item on the shelf. This image data may be used to generate feature data associated with the user and the item, which may be analyzed by one or more classifiers for identifying an interaction between the user and the item. The systems and techniques may then generate interaction data, which in turn may be analyzed by one or more additional classifiers for identifying an event, such as the user picking a particular item from the shelf within the environment. Event data indicative of the event may then be used to update a virtual cart of the user.

  • Patent number: 11868503
Abstract: An embodiment associates a user's post data that with a category from a predefined list of categories based on the post content. The embodiment analyzes, using machine learning, the post data for potentially sensitive content and generates a first sensitive data indicator identifying potentially sensitive information in the post data and an associated first confidence value. The embodiment generates explanatory data identifying a feature that contributed to the post data being identified as potentially sensitive, and generates a modified version of the post data that modifies the feature. The embodiment analyzes the modified post data for potentially sensitive content and generates a second sensitive data indicator and a second confidence value indicating that the post data is more likely to contain sensitive data than the modified post data. The embodiment alerts the user regarding the potentially sensitive data and recommends changing the post based on the modified feature value.

  • Patent number: 11854084
Abstract: A system and method are provided for intentionally delaying an execution of an executable instruction by determining if a current executable instruction is received from a predefined source for which all executable instructions are to be intentionally delayed. When so, the system sets a sequence time associated with the instruction equal to a receipt time plus a delay time. The system saves the instruction in an intentional delay queue for future execution. When the current executable instruction is received from a source that is not the predefined source, the system determines if a condition for immediate processing of the current executable instruction is present. When so, the system executes the instruction immediately. Otherwise, it performs an intentional delay determination that determines whether the current executable instruction has been intentionally delayed. When the current executable instruction has been intentionally delayed, the system executes the instruction immediately.

Visually similar items and their corresponding product categories, aspects, and aspect values can determine suggested candidate products without discernible delay during a multi-turn user dialog. The user can then refine the search for the most relevant items available for purchase by providing responses to machine-generated prompts that are based on the initial search results from visual, voice, and/or text inputs. An intelligent online personal assistant can thus guide a user to the most relevant candidate product more efficiently than existing search tools.
