  • Patent number: 11232460
Abstract: A computerized enhanced discreet coupon (EDC) processing system processes shopper EDC(s) using a scanner and a processor. The scanner scans purchased items. The processor generates tickets corresponding to the purchased items, syntactically validates shopper EDC(s), semantically checks the EDC(s), and authenticates the EDC(s). If an EDC is authentic, then the processor compares the EDC against the ticket to determine if the EDC qualifies, and if so, then the EDC is redeemable. Authentication can be accomplished by, for example, comparing EDC rule(s) and/or rule identifier(s) against genuine rule/identifier sets. Genuine rule set includes a qualifying rule and a redemption rule.

  • Patent number: 11074636
Abstract: This disclosure describes various processes for collecting information about users from sources other than catalog activity data. This information can be used to generate recommendations for users with activity data deficiencies. Some example sources for this supplemental data include collaborative content sites, such as social networking sites. Social networking sites typically allow users to engage in conversations with other users through text, audio, and/or video. Conversation data collected from these sites or from other sources can be analyzed to infer user interests. A recommendation process (or other application) can use the inferred interests to supplement or take the place of catalog activity data.

  • Patent number: 11076195
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for automatically navigating a graphical user interface (GUI) of a media device. In embodiments, objects (e.g. selectable items) in device GUI menu screens may be located, identified, and selected by another device (e.g., a switch) using several types of image processing, image recognition, and automated screen navigation techniques. For instance, a device may receive an operation request, for example from a user, receive a video signal from the connected media device, extract a video frame, process the video frame using one or more algorithms, and automatically navigate the GUI of the device by transmitting one more navigation commands for application to the GUI. In this manner, multi-step, time-consuming manual GUI navigation to achieve a desired result may be reduced to an automated technique, allowing users to save time and frustration in navigating a GUI using a remote control to find a particular resource.

  • Patent number: 11070881
Abstract: A device may receive content data, a first model, and a second model. The first model may be trained on different types of metadata than the second model. The content data may include a first identifier of a first content item and a first set of metadata associated with the first content item. The device may process the first set of metadata to generate first recommendations from the first model and second recommendations from the second model. The device may provide the first identifier and a combination of the first recommendations and the second recommendations to client devices. The device may receive, from the client devices, user-generated target recommendations based on the combination. The device may process the user-generated target recommendations, the first recommendations, and the second recommendations, to provide feedback to update the first model and the second model.

  • Patent number: 11055622
Abstract: Example apparatus and methods concern selective adaptive predictive data placement to improve the operating and/or electrical efficiency of a data storage apparatus. A future input/output operation is predicted from a current input/output operation, the state of the data storage apparatus, relationships between data currently being processed and data previously processed, environmental factors, or other factors. The apparatus and methods may improve data storage efficiency by selectively pre-fetching data, relocating data on the data storage apparatus or within a plurality of data storage apparatus, speculatively producing erasure codes or other error correction codes, speculatively deduplicating data, or other adaptive functions. Relocation and pre-fetching may be configured to achieve different policies focused on electrical efficiency, operating efficiency, use spreading, or other considerations.

  • Patent number: 11050683
Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a housing, a display configured to be exposed through one surface of the housing, a communication module configured to communicate over a first network compliant with a first protocol or a second network compliant with a second protocol, a processor configured to be electrically connected with the display and the communication module, and a memory configured to be electrically connected with the processor and store a specified application. The memory stores instructions, that when executed, cause the processor 420 to execute the specified application, designate a CP server by interacting with a platform server over the second network, receive an initial response message generated by the designated CP server over the first network, and verify a first identifier of the designated CP server based on the first protocol from a source of the initial response message.

  • Patent number: 11049166
Abstract: A set of computing methods and systems are provided that allow geographically distributed stylists to review and recommend “looks” for geographically distributed users, and that allow for asynchronous access by both the stylist and the user. Using “looks” instead of individual products allows the system to build an understanding of what products complement each other when worn together. Analytical insights of trends, style recommendations, customer behavior, and other internal data can be made available to stylists in order to help stylists more efficiently provide recommendations to multiple customers. Further, embodiments of the present disclosure may allow recommendations to be based around a look, but do not require that recommended products be depicted in an image associated with the look. In this way, greater flexibility can be achieved than if only products depicted in the look image were recommended.

Abstract: Systems and methods for deploying tutorial content to websites via tag management systems are disclosed. In an example, a tutorial deployment application accesses a content segment and a condition for displaying the content segment. The application generates a tutorial object including code to display the content segment. The application integrates the tutorial object into the set of runtime tags by selecting a tag from a set of runtime tags that control operations of a website and links the tag with the tutorial object. Based on a performance of the operation, the condition is met, and the tag is executed, causing the tutorial object to be loaded and executed by the website and the content segment to be displayed by the website.
