Abstract: A method of adapting an interactive user interface (UI) comprising monitoring textual content inputted to a user interface of an IM service by participant(s) of an IM session managed by the IM service, wherein the user interface is displayed on a display of a client device, performing an analysis of the textual content to identify query conditions defining at least one feature of the product or the service, generating an interactive UI according to at least a portion of the query conditions and an identity of the at least one participant, storing the adapted interactive UI to be available to a browser via a link, automatically inputting the link into the IM session so as to allow the participant(s) to access the adapted interactive UI using a browser running on the client device, and submitting an order based on completing data received from the participant(s) via the adapted interactive UI.

Abstract: A system that handles delivery of a service through a client device or a secondary device paired with the client device, includes an interactive service provider and the client device. The interactive service provider inserts at least one of digital watermarks, fingerprints, and trigger identifiers at event opportunities in media content. The client device detects at least one of the inserted digital watermarks, the digital fingerprints, and the inserted trigger identifiers in the media content. The client device further renders overlay graphics on the media content and activates at least one of input devices in vicinity of the client device or the rendered overlay graphics. The client device receives trigger responses over an activated overlay graphic, via the activated input devices. The client device further displays an interactive view on the client device, to enable delivery of services in response to the received trigger responses.

Abstract: A preferred embodiment of the invention allows the designation and manipulation of multiple value unit wallets that allow an end user to designate which types of value units in a transaction product account may be implemented on a per-transaction basis such that a person may perform a transaction in one value unit and settle it using another. The creation of the transaction product specifically may decrease the fees associated with value unit exchange. In addition, the value unit conversion and utilization product is contemplated to have multiple interfaces where a person may select alternate sequences of value unit withdrawal such that an end user may prioritize the different types of value units that are withdrawn from an account during a transaction.

Abstract: A method comprises a computer-implemented virtual reality (VR) system connecting VR devices in a collaborative VR session. The VR devices are associated with participants in a collaborative activity to perform an ordered procedure directed to a real-world assembly. The VR system receives session inputs from VR devices associated with the participants. The session inputs correspond to actions of the participants to modify a virtual object included in a VR expression of the VR session. The virtual object corresponds to the real-world assembly. In response to the session inputs, the VR system performs a transaction directed to the virtual object, which produces modifications of the real-world assembly corresponding to the modifications of the virtual object. A collaborative VR system can comprise a VR server and VR devices configured to perform the method. A computer program product can instruct processors of a VR system to perform the method.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for generating search results to search queries based on user-submitted content. A query containing a first search term for an item and a second search term for an intended use of the item is obtained. Then, an item catalog is search for a browse node that includes the item and is related to the intended use of the item. A plurality of items classified within the browse node are selected. A network page that includes the plurality of items classified within the browse node is then generated.

Abstract: A computerized enhanced discreet coupon (EDC) processing system processes shopper EDC(s) using a scanner and a processor. The scanner scans purchased items. The processor generates tickets corresponding to the purchased items, syntactically validates shopper EDC(s), semantically checks the EDC(s), and authenticates the EDC(s). If an EDC is authentic, then the processor compares the EDC against the ticket to determine if the EDC qualifies, and if so, then the EDC is redeemable. Authentication can be accomplished by, for example, comparing EDC rule(s) and/or rule identifier(s) against genuine rule/identifier sets. Genuine rule set includes a qualifying rule and a redemption rule.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for providing a recommended payment account includes receiving location information from a mobile device of a user having one or more payment accounts provided by a financial institution computer system, and determining a location of the user relative to a merchant based on the location information. Abstract: A methodology and/or system to automatically generate an optimal collaborative agreement, according to which multiple vessel arrival time windows, start and end times for each time window, and multiple handling rates during each time window are offered by the marine container terminal operator to the liner shipping company at each port of the given liner shipping route. The vessel scheduling problem is formulated as a mixed integer nonlinear programming model, where the total liner shipping route service cost is minimized. A set of linearization techniques are applied to the original model, and the linearized model is solved using CPLEX. A number of computational experiments were performed for the Pacific Atlantic 1 liner shipping route, served by the NYK liner shipping company, with results showing effectiveness of the proposed collaborative agreement and the adopted solution methodology to improve liner shipping operations.

The system may also enable the customer to select a second merchant at a second geographic location and submit the order for the one or more items to the second merchant. Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, from a requestor, a request for an on-demand identity product in relation to an identity of a consumer, the request comprising personally identifying information (PII) of the consumer. The method also includes executing, using the PII, a partial registration of the consumer for the on-demand identity product, the partial registration omitting satisfaction of at least one security requirement. The method additionally includes determining whether delayed authentication is enabled for the on-demand identity product. Moreover, the method includes, responsive to a determination that delayed authentication is enabled for the on-demand identity product: conditionally suspending the at least one security requirement; initiating provision of the on-demand identity product to the requestor; and restricting the requestor's access to determined sensitive data resulting from the initiated provision at least until the at least one security requirement is satisfied.

The method includes selecting, based on the generic user representation, an anonymous user flow type for tracking the user as an anonymous user of the merchant webpage. The anonymous user flow type associates the user device with the user list independently of associating the user with the merchant.

Abstract: Systems and methods to improve an e-commerce platform through modifications to the checkout and fulfillment process aimed at reducing the incidence of returns. Modifications may include determining a likelihood of a return and, based on the likelihood of return, generating a staged fulfillment process in which an order is split in two linked orders that are processed serially and based on receipt of confirmation to proceed after delivery of a first one of the orders. Modifications may include determining during the checkout process that a custom return policy is to be used and generating the custom return policy based, at least in part, on one or more of a purchaser return history, the product item or items in the order, and product return history.

Abstract: Embodiments provide a recommendation for an additional item in response to receiving a basket of goods determine a type for the basket of goods from a set of basket types, receive a set of additional targeted items as target recommendations and receive a history of received types of baskets of goods. Embodiments iteratively perform a clustering into a plurality of clusters of each of the basket types based on the history of received types of baskets of goods, and preference updating for each of the targeted items into each of the plurality of clusters. The iteratively performing, after a plurality of iterations, outputs a sequence of mappings and a sequence of preference parameters. Embodiments generate a frequency of tabulation of mappings from the sequence of mappings and then generate the recommendation based on the sequence of mappings, the sequence of preference parameters and the frequency of tabulation of mappings.

Abstract: A system generates a first gift selection matrix that includes a first set of items of interest to a recipient organized in columns of increasing cost and rows of decreasing interest to the recipient. The system transmits the first gift selection matrix to a first user computing device and to a second user computing device. Item selections are received from users, along with gift purchase contribution pledges. If the pledges are insufficient to cover a cost of one of the selected items, the system sends a request to the first user and the second user for either an a second gift selection, or a pledge of additional funds. If the new gift selections are not the same, or if the pledged amounts are insufficient to purchase a selected gift, the system generates a second gift selection matrix. The system transmits the second gift selection matrix to the first user computing device and the second user computing device. A final gift selection can be made from the second matrix.

Abstract: Systems and methods for the automated fulfillment of orders from a fulfillment network including consumer-facing retail locations. Orders are partitioned into suborders, which are in turn assigned to retail locations based on forecasted demand for the suborder items at the retail locations. The assignment process considers operational data for each retail location such as the number of employees, the inventory of suborder items, shipping rate cards, return policies, business hours, pick decline estimations, etc.

Abstract: A computer-based digital marketplace exchange is disclosed, providing the functionality of offering rounds of golf for sale, as well as conducting the sale of the rounds of golf. Customers can use the system to build, purchase, and redeem rounds, subject to at least one rule uploaded by the course. Once an order is purchased with the system, a customer's account is credited. When the customer seeks to redeem the round, the system can be configured to access a real-time positioning component and temporal component of a customer's mobile computer device. The system determines whether the time/location of the customer violates the rules placed on the round. If the rules are violated, then the system notifies the customer that he/she is prohibited from redeeming the round. Conversely, if the rules are not violated, then the round is redeemed and the course notified of the customer's arrival.

Abstract: This disclosure describes various processes for collecting information about users from sources other than catalog activity data. This information can be used to generate recommendations for users with activity data deficiencies. Some example sources for this supplemental data include collaborative content sites, such as social networking sites. Social networking sites typically allow users to engage in conversations with other users through text, audio, and/or video. Conversation data collected from these sites or from other sources can be analyzed to infer user interests. A recommendation process (or other application) can use the inferred interests to supplement or take the place of catalog activity data.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for automatically navigating a graphical user interface (GUI) of a media device. In embodiments, objects (e.g. selectable items) in device GUI menu screens may be located, identified, and selected by another device (e.g., a switch) using several types of image processing, image recognition, and automated screen navigation techniques. For instance, a device may receive an operation request, for example from a user, receive a video signal from the connected media device, extract a video frame, process the video frame using one or more algorithms, and automatically navigate the GUI of the device by transmitting one more navigation commands for application to the GUI. In this manner, multi-step, time-consuming manual GUI navigation to achieve a desired result may be reduced to an automated technique, allowing users to save time and frustration in navigating a GUI using a remote control to find a particular resource.

The method includes acquiring, using at least one visual sensor, first image information including a person. The method further includes identifying the at least one person from the first image information by classifying the person into a class. The method further includes identifying a behavior of the person relative to the item, and updating, based on the identified behavior, the virtual transaction.

Abstract: A set of computing methods and systems are provided that allow geographically distributed stylists to review and recommend “looks” for geographically distributed users, and that allow for asynchronous access by both the stylist and the user. Using “looks” instead of individual products allows the system to build an understanding of what products complement each other when worn together. Analytical insights of trends, style recommendations, customer behavior, and other internal data can be made available to stylists in order to help stylists more efficiently provide recommendations to multiple customers. Further, embodiments of the present disclosure may allow recommendations to be based around a look, but do not require that recommended products be depicted in an image associated with the look. In this way, greater flexibility can be achieved than if only products depicted in the look image were recommended.

The application integrates the tutorial object into the set of runtime tags by selecting a tag from a set of runtime tags that control operations of a website and links the tag with the tutorial object. Based on a performance of the operation, the condition is met, and the tag is executed, causing the tutorial object to be loaded and executed by the website and the content segment to be displayed by the website.
