Abstract: A disclosure provides techniques for generating search results containing state links to applications. A method includes receiving a query containing one or more query parameters from a remote computing device and identifying a set of third party applications corresponding to the one or more query parameters. For each third party application, the method includes transmitting at least a subset of the one or more query parameters to a server associated with the third party application, receiving a response from the server associated with the third party application, and generating a state link to a native application version of the third party application based on the response. The method further includes providing the states links to the remote computing device.

Abstract: A master wireless device and a child wireless device execute respective device activation sequences. On the child wireless device, the activation sequence displays, on a display of the device, a non-textual image representing a unique child device credential. On the master wireless device, the activation sequence prompts a user to capture a digital picture of the child wireless device screen. The master wireless device presents its own credentials, along with information from the digital picture, to a service management system in a network, allowing the service management system to verify that the master wireless device is associated with a subscriber and is allowed to configure a child device, as well as verify the child device. Upon successful verification, the service management system activates the child wireless device to the subscriber account of the master wireless device.

Abstract: An audio playback system receives digitally watermarked audio programming and distributes it to audio speakers in a venue, enabling a variety of location and product dependent services to be delivered to mobile devices in the venue. Mobile devices sense audio from speakers and decode digital identifying information, including characteristics to distinguish audio sources. The mobile device communicates with a networked computer to provide the identifying information, which in turn, triggers an alert for output on the mobile device.

Abstract: A system and environment to enable entities to utilize courier services provided by a service provider are described herein. In some examples, the service provider exposes the courier services to a computing device associated with a merchant, buyer, and/or others using one or more Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) provided by the service provider. The one or more APIs may enable merchants and/or others to automatically integrate the courier services into technologies used by the merchants and/or others in order to facilitate delivery of items that are offered for acquisition by the merchants.

Abstract: The use of a mobile device with a merchant application may enable the merchant to turn the mobile device into a point-of-sale terminal that interfaces with a server. The server may receive from the mobile device a transaction via a network, in which the transaction includes transaction details for a purchase request made by a customer. In turn, the server may transmit a transaction token that identifies the transaction to the mobile device of the merchant. Subsequently, the server may receive the transaction token from a client device of the customer. The transaction token being transmitted from the mobile device to the client device using a short range communication that is independent of the network. After receiving the transaction token, the server may provide the transaction details of the transaction that matches the transaction token to the client device for display so that the customer may pay for the transaction.

Abstract: A user may request receipts near a current location of the user or a desired location specified by the user. Once a location or address is determined or obtained, a service provider can access a database or other storage to search for receipts for the user within a certain distance from the current user location or desired location. This distance can vary based on results found or density of merchants in the area. The distance can be predetermined by the system or the user. All valid receipts within this distance can then be presented to the user on the user device, such as indications on a map, associated with merchant names and transaction details or summaries, and/or other formats and information.

Abstract: Techniques for augmenting an image of an object captured and displayed in real time with associated content are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method for augmenting the image includes receiving information defining a sampled frame of a video being captured by an electronic device in substantially real time, determining information representative of an object captured in the sampled frame based on the received information, causing the determined information to match stored information defining a plurality of items to locate an item matched to the captured object, retrieving content associated with the matched item, and providing the retrieved content for display with the captured image on the electronic device. The retrieved content may be rendered in an overlay element that overlays the captured image displayed on the electronic device. The rendered content is configured to enable a user to interact with the content.

Abstract: An e-commerce system and method for facilitating transactions between a customer and a vendor is disclosed. The e-commerce system includes a receiver configured to receive a request for at least one token, the request including the details of at least one transaction for the purchase of at least one product, a processor configured to generate at least one token, a transmitter configured to transmit the at least one token to a customer browser, the customer browser being used to validate the token using at least one iframe, the receiver configured to receive submission in the iframe, the processor configured to decode the token, the processor configured to perform one or more validations, and the processor configured to process the transaction, on a condition that the validations are approved.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for an inventory monitor are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the disclosed method involves predicting a number of inventory items on a future date based at least in part upon a number of the inventory items on the current date and a rate of consumption of the inventory items, which is determined based on prior sales of the inventory items. The method also involves determining a price trend of the inventory items. In addition, the method involves determining whether to purchase the inventory items on the current date based at least in part upon the predicted number of inventory items, a rate of consumption of the inventory items, and a price trend of the inventory items. Further, the method involves displaying to the user an indicator of whether to purchase the inventory items on the current date or on a later date.

Abstract: A system and method for providing access to audio-visual (AV) content, such as music or video clips, is described that includes providing an openly accessible code on an item or packaging associated with the item, and a second (limited-access) code associated with the same item or packaging. The first code and the second code can be a quick-response code or other scannable code, or a string of alphanumeric characters. Access to a sample and a full version of the AV content can be provided when the first code or second code, respectively, is scanned, or entered on a particular website or other location, using a device such as a computer, smartphone, or tablet computer. The sample can be a portion or a reduced-quality version of the full AV content. The AV content can be related to images and/or words provided on or associated with the item.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an approach for allowing a user to capture a set of values for a set of input parameters in a template that may be used for present and/or future provisioning of virtual resources. Under this approach, the template may be managed within a networked computing environment (e.g., cloud computing environment) for future use by the creating user or other authorized users. The next time the user is interacting with the environment, the set of templates available may be accessed, and the user can select/utilize a previously stored template. Once a template is chosen, the user may initiate a provisioning request from the environment's interface(s), which may include graphical user interfaces (GUIs), command lines, application programming interfaces (APIs), etc. In any event, the user may also have the opportunity to update any saved data and/or provide additional data.

Abstract: A virtual personal assistant (VPA) application analyzes intents to, among other things, enhance or personalize a user's dialog experience with the VPA application. A set of intents, or multiple sets of intents, are maintained over the course of one or more user-specific dialog sessions with the VPA. Inferences may be derived from the set or sets of intents and incorporated into a current or future dialog session between the VPA and a user of the VPA application. In some embodiments, the inferences are only made available through the systemic understanding of natural language discourse by the VPA.

Abstract: A system to effectuate passive check-in with respect to a user's mobile device is described. A server system may be configured to receive communications from a GPS-enabled mobile device (e.g., a mobile phone), extract a stream of locations from the received communications, and use the location information to determine whether a boundary-crossing event has occurred with respect to the mobile device. In response to detecting a boundary-crossing event, the server stores special locations information in a profile that represents the user with respect to a web-based service.

Abstract: Guiding purchasing via smartphone by, determining, via smartphone input of a user, the smartphone user's intent to purchase a given product. At least one sequence of tasks to purchase each of a plurality of products is determined. The determined intent to purchase the given product is associated with a determined sequence of tasks to purchase one of the products in the plurality of products. The smartphone user's current state in the associated sequence of tasks is determined. The smartphone user is notified, via the smartphone, of the next uncompleted task from the associated sequence of tasks based on the smartphone user's current state in the associated sequence of tasks.

In some embodiments, the system may be configured to create a first user account for a first user with a first number of points, and a second user account for a second user with a second number of points. The system may obtain a first RMM accessory item (e.g., a monitor, a data view, an antivirus definition, a search, a report, a script, a system component, a plugin, a probe, or a definition) and a corresponding price. Responsive to receiving an indication of interest, the system may transmit the first RMM accessory item to the second user, add to the first number of points a first multiplier times the price, and subtract from the second number of points a second multiplier times the price.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and transmitting multimedia messaging service (MMS) messages are disclosed. In some implementations, a mobile device presents, at a touchscreen, a visual user interface. The visual user interface includes multiple thumbnails and multiple contact blocks. Each thumbnail identifies a file. Each contact block identifies a contact having a messaging address. The mobile device receives, via the touchscreen, a selection of a first thumbnail from the multiple thumbnails. The mobile device receives, via the touchscreen, an indication of dragging the first thumbnail across the visual user interface to a first contact block. The mobile device transmits, responsive to the dragging of the first thumbnail to the first contact block, the file identified in the thumbnail to the messaging address of the contact identified in the first contact block.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for facilitating discovery of items added to electronic wish lists. Real-time messages that identify items that have been recently added to wish lists are received from a wish list service. A stream of real-time data is generated from the messages that identifies the items added to the wish lists. A network application programming interface (API) is exposed for providing the stream to clients. A client may obtain the stream from the network API and utilize the stream to generate a visualization of the items added to the wish lists in real-time. Through functionality provided by the API, the stream may also be filtered and searched. Trend data may also be obtained through the API that identifies items that have been added to the wish lists most frequently over a period of time.

Abstract: The present invention is a method and system for generation and playback of supplemented videos which include interactive features. The supplemented video includes hotspots that allow a video viewer to interact with the video when the video viewer sees an object. The hotspots can be manually defined. Information regarding the object and the hotspot can be stored in a separate XML file. Furthermore, the present invention can be a marketplace where a desired object can be found by searching the XML file. The search results can list the supplemented videos which contain hotspots corresponding to the object and also the time in the supplemented video in which the object is found. The present invention can also aggregate data about the objects based on the playback of the supplemented videos and the video viewer's interaction with the supplemented videos.

Abstract: A display characteristic determination machine receives a request to display seller-related content that references an item available for sale. The display characteristic determination machine identifies a display characteristic available from a web server, determines that the seller-related content is to be displayed using the display characteristic, and communicates to the web server that the seller-related content is to be displayed using the display characteristic and with primary content. The display characteristic determination machine may function as an allocation device to allocate use of the display characteristic. This functionality may be scaled, for example, to include determining use of multiple display characteristics, available from multiple web servers, by multiple instances of seller-related content requested for display by multiple sellers of multiple items.

Abstract: A computer system that interfaces with a blockchain is provided. The computer system receives match data for a match between a first data transaction request that is associated with a first identifier and a second data transaction request that is associated with a second identifier. A first blockchain transaction is generated based on the match data and stored to a blockchain. At least one further blockchain transaction is generates that splits the match into two different transactions—one between the first identifier and an intermediary and the second between the intermediary. These are recorded to the blockchain via the further blockchain transactions.

User input is received to create a household profile, wherein the household profile comprises information related to the members of the household. The user also provides a search for information in which the user may be interested. The household profiles may be utilized along with the search, and with other information, such as user profile information, account information, or dynamic contextual questions to provide search results or updated search results, and dynamic contextual information or updated dynamic contextual information for tailoring the search results to the user. The user may select which households, which individuals in the households, and/or information about the individuals to use in the search. As such, the search results for the user may be more tailored to the results in which the user is interested.

Abstract: Methods for managing a project are disclosed. The methods comprise accepting at least two project templates from a database, wherein the project database contains personal project templates and work project templates categorized by type of project. A start date and/or an end date for each project template may be accepted. Information related to each project template may be automatically generated. The information related to all project templates may be aggregated and a user may access the information related to all project templates from one user interface.

Abstract: A computer-implemented service integrates with merchant sites to enable registered users of the service to perform purchase transactions on the merchant sites. In one embodiment, a merchant can incorporate a reference to a display object served by the service into coding of a page of the merchant's site. When the page is loaded by a user's browser, the reference causes the browser to request the display object from the service for display on the page. If the user is recognized by the service, the service may return a personalized display object that includes functionality for the user to perform a purchase transaction using the service. Also disclosed are embodiments that enable users to initiate transfers of personal account information to the merchant sites.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for trading multiple tradeable objects. One example method includes displaying at least one combined quantity indicator representing a combined quantity associated with at least two tradeable objects, detecting an input associated with an order for a predetermined order quantity in relation to one of the combined quantity indicators, and allocating the order quantity between the at least two tradeable objects using at least one quantity allocation rule. In one example embodiment, a plurality of quantity allocation rules can be user-configurable, and different rules can be defined and applied in relation to different order types.

Abstract: A system that displays geographic data is disclosed. The system obtains polygons that define a set of geographic regions. Then, the system projects rays from endpoints of the line segments that define the polygons onto a reference line to form intersection points. For each interval between pairs of consecutive intersection points on the reference line, the system keeps track of open line segments that project onto the interval. For each data point in a set of data points, the system identifies a relevant interval on the reference line that the data point projects onto, and performs a crossing number operation to identify polygons that the data point falls into, and the system increments a count for each polygon that the data point falls into. Finally, the system displays the set of geographic regions in a manner that indicates a number of data points that fall into each geographic region.

Alternatively, the first tradeable object and the second tradeable object may be the same, but the indications of quantity may be provided from different sources, such as different exchanges.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a mobile device and another computer operate in tandem through a cloud synchronization service to analyze image data and provide a location based service to a user. A mobile application receives image data and stores the image data in a cloud service format. The cloud synchronization service sends the image data to a desktop application on the other computer. The desktop application analyzes the image data to generate an image attribute. The cloud synchronization service sends the image attribute data to the mobile application. The mobile application provides at least one location based service based on the image attribute. The mobile application may be an augmented reality application.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a user device, first input corresponding to selection of a recommendation option of an electronic program guide. The method includes sending, from the user device to a display device, a first option to base a media content recommendation on a most recently displayed media content item and a second option to base the media content recommendation on a plurality of displayed media content items. The method includes receiving, at the user device, second input that corresponds to the first option or the second option. The method includes sending a request from the user device to a server. The request includes an identifier based on the second input. The method also includes receiving information corresponding to one or more recommended media content items at the user device in response to the request.

Abstract: There is provided a method for processing electronic documents. The method includes: receiving a plurality of electronic documents stored in a file container created based on a file system; retrieving metadata from the file container, the metadata indicating forensic information about the plurality of electronic documents; applying an interactive filtering to the metadata according to user inputs; and selectively extracting one or more electronic documents from the file container according to results of the interactive filtering.

Abstract: Systems and methods including a mobile device determining the coordinates of its location using a location determination system, such as a global positioning system. A database stores the identifiers of cells representative of predefined regions in a hierarchical grid system. A server computer or the mobile device converts the coordinates of the location to one or more cell identifiers at different grid resolution levels and searches the database to find a match between the cell identifiers representing the regions and the cell identifiers representing the location of the mobile device to determine one or more regions in which the mobile device is located. For example, the hierarchical grid system can be constructed in a longitude latitude space of location coordinates, with resolution levels aligned with decimal precision levels of the location coordinates; and the cell identifiers can be constructed from the digits of the longitude and latitude coordinates.

The trail may be an anticipated browsing path for a user based on current and/or historical browsing data, including search logs, browsing histories, and other data. The trail may be displayed as a search result summary or with individual search results in response to receiving a search query.

Abstract: A user can obtain a list of products previously purchased at a store where the user is presently shopping via the user's mobile device. The user can use this list to determine if any of the products previously purchased should again be purchased on the present shopping trip. For example, the user can choose from an app on the mobile device to view products purchased by location. A location based shopping list system can then determine at which store the user is shopping based upon a GPS location provided by the user's mobile device. The location based shopping list system can then return the list of product previously purchased at that store.

Abstract: Data streams are generally selected according to user preferences and transmitted to the user in general alignment with expressed preferences of the user. Such data streams may be music, including music videos. Users may indicate their general or specific preferences with regards to song, artists, or albums. Any other aspects or factors that might affect the user's preferences can be taken into account. A playlist is created that combines all of these factors. The playlist then serves as the basis for feeding the data streams to the user. Each user is able to express his or her own preferences and receive music corresponding to those preferences on an on-going basis.
