Abstract: A method for controlling a food ordering terminal assembly includes dividing a display into first and second display portions. The method includes dividing the second display portion into a plurality of sections including a first section and a second section immediately adjacent the first section. The method includes introducing a first set of food items for selection in the first section. The method includes, in response to selection of one of the first set of the food items, moving the first set of the food items across the second display portion from the first section to the second section such that (i) a second set of food items appears for consideration and selection in the first section, and (ii) in the second section, the first set of the food items remains visible and available for reselection.

Abstract: A dispensing device is provided for providing a product categorization user interface from which a product may be selected. The dispensing device may display a menu of product categories in the user interface. A selection of one of the product categories may then be received from the menu. The dispensing device may then display a sub-menu corresponding to a selected one of the plurality of products category in the user interface. A selection of a product may then be received from the sub-menu on the dispensing device. An action request may then be received which corresponds to the selected one of the plurality of products. In response to the action request, the dispensing device may then execute an action (such as a dispensing action) associated with the selected one of the plurality of products from the sub-menu.

Abstract: Computer implemented methods and systems for generating a menu of browser extensions. A first user interaction with a first set of information is detected. The first set of information is associated with one or more browser extensions. A first menu for display of the one or more browser extensions is generated. A second user interaction with the one or more associated browser extensions is detected, wherein the second user interaction executes at least one of the associated browser extensions. A second set of information is extracted from one or more uniform resource locators in response to the second user interaction with the one or more associated browser extensions. A second menu for display of the second set of information is generated.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a menu management section, a variant-attribute menu management section, and a display processing section. The menu management section manages a tree structure including a plurality of menus hierarchized according to their attributes. The variant-attribute menu management section manages a variant-attribute menu associated with a specified menu as a quasi lower-level menu. The specified menu is classified according to its variant attribute different from corresponding one of the attributes used for the tree structure. The display processing section displays the quasi lower-level menu on a display according to selection of the variant-attribute menu and displays, once the quasi lower-level menu is selected, a next-lower-level menu of the quasi lower-level menu on the display based on path information and the tree structure. The path information shows pathways to be selected to reach the specified menu in the tree structure.

Abstract: An “Interactive Word Lattice” provides a user interface for interacting with and selecting user-modifiable paths through a lattice-based representation of alternative suggested text segments in response to a user's text segment input, such as phrases, sentences, paragraphs, entire documents, etc. More specifically, the user input is provided to a trained paraphrase generation model that returns a plurality of alternative text segments having the same or similar meaning as the original user input. An interactive graphical lattice-based representation of the alternative text segments is then presented to the user. One or more words of each alternative text segment represents a “node” of the lattice, while each connection between nodes represents a lattice “edge. Both nodes and edges are user modifiable. Each possible path through the lattice corresponds to a different alternative text segment. Users select a path through the lattice to select an alternative text to the original input.

Abstract: A calling and display unit displays the image of a function calling icon (FCI) on at least one of the four corners of a screen of a touch panel. An icon calling unit calls function activation icons (FAI) in correspondence to a touch manipulation on the FCI. A function display unit displays the images of the called FAIs so as to be arranged on at least one of the four sides of the screen, which communicates with one of the four corners where the FCI is located. Therefore, the proportion in which the images of the displayed FAIs obstruct a display image displayed on the screen can be minimized. In this way, a data processing device minimizes the proportion in which the images of the FAIs displayed on the touch panel obstruct the display image.

Abstract: A user selection interface system comprises one or more rotatable selectors linked to selectable characteristics, and a display linked to the selectors, for display of an image that corresponds to the selected characteristics. The interface is typically linked to a database comprising stored images and other information which corresponds to the selectable characteristics, whereby an image that corresponds to an item which meets a selected characteristic is retrieved and displayed. Information other than the corresponding image may also be retrieved and displayed. A collection of device elements having properties including a visual representation and a functionality are instantiated in a global container. The global container includes the device elements that are required for various screen views. Device elements that are not required in a currently displayed screen view are torn off in the global container so that memory and processing requirements are reduced, while increasing the speed and performance of the interface, particularly in switching between screen views.

Abstract: A segment ring menu is provided that is used to easily access menu items. The segment ring menu includes a number of menus that are located equidistant from an initial mouse position from where the segment ring menu is evoked. Hovering over any of the sections of the segment ring menu displays the menu items hosted in that section. The segment ring menu layout is directed at making it easy for the user to reach any of the menu items with a small amount of mouse movement.

Abstract: This disclosure describes embodiments of systems and methods for performing inspections of an asset. The systems can include an inspection apparatus that executes a menu directed inspection (MDI) protocol to direct an inspector that performs the inspection. The MDI protocol includes, in one example, reference material that is associated with areas of the asset that the inspector will inspect. This reference material can include data and information (e.g., technical manuals, operating manuals, images, etc.). In one embodiment, the method includes one or more steps for building an inspection tree with inspection points that correspond to the inspection areas on the asset. The method can also comprise steps for assigning or associating the reference material to inspection points, which is then available to the inspector on the inspection apparatus during execution of the MDI protocol.

The method then moves the manipulated file or file folder to a target drive or file folder corresponding to the target position.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and system for providing a user interface representing organization hierarchy wherein a group of entities can be displayed as a node, and the node is displayed as a part of a hierarchical chart. In various embodiments, the present invention provides a graphical user interface displaying nodes that represent groups of entities, and the nodes are displayed as a part of a hierarchical chart based on the hierarchical relationship among the nodes that represent groups of entities. In various embodiments, a user is able to select actions for a group of entities displayed on the same node. Based on various criteria, nodes displaying one group of entities may, based on user selections of different grouping criteria, display a different group of entities. There are other features as well, in the graphical interface.

Abstract: A method and system for providing a graphical user interface with contextual views. In various embodiments, the present invention provides a graphical user interface that allows the changing contents of a global menu in the graphical display based upon the selected nodes that belong to a hierarchical chart. Only those actions applicable (contextual) to the selected nodes will be determined and displayed in the menu. Accordingly, the contents of the selectable options are updated based upon the selected nodes. When more than one node is selected, the displayed selectable actions are an intersection of the actions permitted for each selected node. In a specific embodiment, a comparison menu is provided to allow the user to be able to compare unique corresponding properties of selected nodes.

Abstract: A method and program that improves the efficiency of menu tree visualisation and navigation in graphical user interfaces. Menu items are displayed as call-out shaped objects each made up of a call-out bubble and its leading arm. The leading arm connects the call-out bubble with the higher level menu item, the context-menu reference point or any other reference point on the user-interface screen. Menu lists are displayed as sets of similar-sized call-out shapes, which can be arranged in a variety of ways. A menu item can be selected by selecting either the leading arm or the call-out bubble of a call-out shape. The selection of a menu item through the selection of its leading arm significantly reduces the distance over which the pointer has to be moved for menu tree navigation. This is because the leading arm of each of the call-out shapes in any menu item list is close to the pointer's position immediately following the preceding selection process.

Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for consistent and coherent layout for an installation wizard. The mechanisms divide the installation wizard into a plurality of actions. The mechanisms generate a graphical user interface panel for each of the plurality of actions to form a plurality of graphical user interface panels and generate at least one optional view for each graphical user interface panel. For each given action of the installation wizard, the mechanisms present a graphical user interface panel with a default view based on context of the given action and responsive to user input selecting an optional view, present the graphical user interface panel with the selected optional view.

Abstract: In general, techniques are described for providing a user interface to create report specifications and included source definitions for business reporting and analysis. For example, a computing device includes a user interface (UI) module for displaying a graphical user interface (GUI) and receiving a selection of a data element at a start location of the GUI. The UI module may display an overlay element having a boundary forming a plurality of paths from the start location to a plurality of end locations, the paths corresponding to a plurality of report options associated with the data element. The UI module may receive a second input indicative of a traversal of the overlay element along a chosen path. The computing device may include a definition module operable to create a definition for a report specification based at least in part on the report option corresponding to the chosen path.
