The cutter includes a body with upper and lower end portions of greater diameter sizes than that of an intermediate portion which interconnects them. A stem extends into an axial bore formed longitudinally through the body. A radial slot is defined within the intermediate body portion. In one embodiment, a pair of slides each with a cutting wheel rotatably mounted thereto are mounted within the slot. A lower conical end of the stem engages the slides and axial movement of the stem will cause radial movement of the slides.

Rigidly interconnecting the ball nuts, a connector surrounds the spindle assembly via a ring rotatably mounted therein. The ring has an inward projection making threaded engagement with the inner spindle member through a slot cut longitudinally in the outer spindle member. The linear travel of the ring with the ball nuts results in the rotation of the inner spindle member relative to the outer.

    Abstract: A device for removing pipe attached to a fitting includes cutting apparatus for removing the pipe disposed within the fitting. A wrench apparatus is connected to the cutting apparatus for gripping the fitting to prevent its movement when the cutting apparatus is activated. Alternatively, this device may be used as a reaming device which permits radial movement of the cutting blades into engagement with a pipe after the cutting blades have been inserted within the pipe.

Immediately upon contact between the sensor and the front surface, the sensor provides for breaking an electrical circuit in the lathe controller providing for automatic position registration of the lens button front surface relative to the cutting tool and its pivot point, and a lens of desired center thickness and power curve radius is subsequently generated. Close tolerances and high repeatability are domonstrated in contact lenses lathed generated by these principles.

Structure supporting the shaft and the reciprocating mechanism enables an automatic tool changer to selectively join the shaft to the spindle, and place the rod reciprocating mechanism in operative relationship with the driving system.

A plurality of frustoconically tapered rollers are arranged about the outer surface for rolling engagement with the outer surface with the smaller ends of the rollers facing forward. The taper of the rollers is such that the outermost surface portion of each roller is parallel to the central axis.
