Abstract: Members are provided for securing together a pair of freight containers having corner fittings which abut one another, the abutting walls of the corner fittings each having formed therein aligned, elongate apertures. The members comprise an elongate locking member in the opposed sidewalls of which are formed opposed grooves each of generally tapering configuration. On passage of the locking member through the aligned apertures to bring the grooves into axial alignment with the abutting walls, and on subsequent rotation of the locking member about its central longitudinal axis, the edge regions of the walls bounding the apertures are received within the grooves to be urged into locking engagement with one another by the sidewalls of the grooves.

  • Patent number: 4725819
Abstract: A fire sensing unit is provided with apparatus which sends out a code identifying the type of sensor apart from transmission of the quantized signals of the analog output of the sensor of the sensing unit. Thus the data processing unit of the receiving unit of a fire detection system including the sensor can be simplified because the receiving unit need not collate the types of the installed sensors with a list of addresses stored therein. Also replacement of sensors can be easily effected since the information regarding the type of sensors is stored in the sensing unit.

  • Patent number: 4719522
Abstract: In a magnetic recording method in which, for the purpose of tracking, a signal having a predetermined frequency is extracted from a reproduced FM recording signal recorded on a magnetic recording medium, and the magnetic head is brought to a position where the amplitude of the signal of predetermined frequency becomes substantially maxim; an FM recording signal recorded on a track of the recording medium is reproduced immediately after the recording, when dropout is detected in the recorded signal, a signal having a frequency other than the predetermined frequency is recorded on the same track in a relation superposed on the recorded signal, and the same recording signal as that recorded already on the dropout-including track is recorded on another track which may be the next adjacent track again.
