  • Patent number: 4936171
Abstract: The base of the illuminated screwdriver attaches to the light source, and the screwdriver shank is attached to the base. The tip of the screwdriver is a flat metallic blade inserted into the shank. The shank is made of light transmissive material so that light from the source is delivered at the blade. A shield is slidably mounted on the shank to slide from a position away from the tip to a position surrounding the tip. The shield is made of insulator material to prevent the blade from shorting between adjacent screws.

  • Patent number: 4909537
Abstract: The vehicle has a chassis formed of a front strut and a seat strut which are attached together so as to be angularly adjustable about a horizontal axis. The seat strut telescopically carries a seat post with a seat thereon. The front strut telescopically carries a front post. Angularly adjustably mounted on the top of the front post is the steering head which rotatably carries the front fork. A wheel is mounted on the lower end of the front fork. A power strut is also mounted on the chassis axis. A telescopically mounted post extends from the power strut and rotatably carries a rear wheel thereon. In this way, complete adjustability is achieved. Pedals are mounted on the chassis axis and are connected to drive the rear wheel. A motor may be additionally or alternatively installed. In addition, different kinds of wheels and different numbers of wheels as well as skis and the like can alternatively be installed.

  • Patent number: 4897755
Abstract: Where there is a relay controlling an AC power circuit to a load, the apparatus of this disclosure includes a sensor for observing arc at the relay contacts and a control circuit which controls the time of subsequent actuation or deactuation of the relay with respect to the alternating current power circuit so as to eliminate relay contact arcing.

  • Patent number: 4878305
Abstract: Hand-carried weapon has a stock offset below the barrel and receiver so that a shooter can keep his head below the barrel to fire from the protected position. A movable periscopic sight, when in the raised position, permits the shooter to see along a periscope-offset line-of-sight parallel to the axis of the barrel so that he can sight from a protected position. When the shooter has his head below the axis of the barrel, he can place his forehead firmly against the periscope to provide triangle support for the weapon with his forehead and two hands. When the periscope is in the lowered position, the shooter can hold and shoot the weapon with his eye on a straight line-of-sight through the sights, without being in the protected position. Secondary trigger permits the shooter to actuate the primary trigger from the protected position. The weapon can also be used to shoot from the hip.

  • Patent number: 4843534
Abstract: In a switching type DC to AC power converter a plurality (A-D, FIG. 6) of pairs of switchers (S1 and S2) are connected through inductors (L.sub.A -L.sub.D) to a load. Each set of switchers is switched to produce a square wave shaped output voltage (FIGS. 5A-5D) at a switch frequency (f.sub.S) and at a modulation percentage to produce an output voltage (E.sub.O) to a load, at a selected frequency. The sets are switched at phased delays, so that the ripple currents through them, when summed up, result in a ripple current I.sub.T at a frequency f.sub.C, where f.sub.C =n.multidot.f.sub.S, n being the number of pairs of switchers. In another aspect of the invention, means are incorporated to prevent the flow of currents between parallel connected amplifiers, characterized by zero output impedances.
