Abstract: Tent stake has a straight wire shank and has a head formed of the same material. The head has a hook under the side thereof for engagement by a tent rope, has a driving surface on the top thereof, and has an opening therethrough to serve as a handle for the pulling of the tent stake.
Abstract: In the ground surface drainage apparatus, a monolithic catch basin has a side outlet sleeve for the positioning therein of a subterranean drainage tube. An adaptor bushing engages against a stop in the sleeve and has its own stop lip for use with a smaller sized drainage tube.
Abstract: Housing has a top and bottom and has a living hinge joining them so that the top and bottom are of monolithic construction of a thermoplastic polymer composition flexible material. The top and bottom are configured so that opposite the hinge an edge on the top with a catch thereon enters between a flange and latch on the bottom so that the latch resiliently engages over the catch to detachably hold the top and bottom in the closed position.
Abstract: An animal amusement device wherein a radio transmitter of limited range is carried by the animal. A ball, or other type of movable structure is to be located upon the ground or other supportive surface in close proximity to the animal. Upon the animal moving to within a short distance of the ball, the ball will become randomly movable by being activated by the radio signal mounted within the collar of the animal.
Abstract: The strut tool has a frame with a pair of clamp faces on the front thereof and a pair of clamp hooks extending therebetween. A screw pulls the clamp hooks towards the clamp faces so that the strut clamp can engage on and clamp on a slotted strut to temporarily support structure with respect to the strut while the structure is being secured to the strut.
Abstract: This system controls the cooking time of foods such as french fried potatoes that are cooked in a medium, typically hot fat that may change in temperature during cooking. A platinum resistance temperature transducer senses the temperature of the medium and is connected to circuitry that produces a voltage indicative of the cooking rate of the food at the sensed temperature. This voltage controls the frequency of a train of cooking rate pulses that are counted, starting when cooking is begun. When a preset number of pulses have been counted, an indicator goes on to show that cooking is complete.
Abstract: Thermodynamic unit comprised of a pair of vessels which alternately raise and lower pressure in thermodynamic fluid is connected in a closed system to an engine, which utilizes the fluid in its gas phase, with the vessel raising pressure having a gas outlet connected to the engine and with exhaust therefrom being connected to the vessel lowering the fluid pressure. The vessels are alternately heated and cooled so that each alternately acts as a fluid pressure raising and lowering vessel, and each operates at the function opposite from the other vessel. Heat for the pressure raising vessel is any conventional terrestrially available heat source such as nuclear, geothermal, waste heat, electrical, solar, fossil fuel, and the like. The pressure lowering vessel delivers its heat to any conventional terrestrial sink. The gas engine is preferably a turbine, but may be another conventional gas-expanding engine.
Abstract: Cleat has a base for mounting on deck or dock, with cleat head pivotably mounted to rock on the base. The horns on the head coact with the base to reliably and releaseably clamp line therebetween for secure cleating of the line. The spacing between the horns and the base is adjustable by adjustment of the pivot axis of the head on the base.
