Abstract: An apparatus for repairing and/or leakage testing of sewer pipes, in particular of connecting pipes diverging therefrom. The apparatus is constructed as a tubular member and includes an opening, wherein the apparatus can be moved in the sewer pipe. The apparatus has a bladder which can be moved out through the opening.
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, a roadway for supporting vehicular traffic and which can be used over a wide variety of terrains comprises a network of interconnected modular components for supporting a road bed over which vehicles can travel and a plurality of prefabricated panels, overlaying the network of interconnected modular components, which form a road bed. The network of interconnected modular components includes a first layer of interconnected, prefabricated concrete cylinders placed over the terrain to be traversed. The concrete cylinders are formed into a number of rows whose longitudinal axes are parallel to the direction of the road. The network further includes a second layer of interconnected, prefabricated concrete cylinders placed over the first layer and joined to the first layer by a number of intermediate support devices. The concrete cylinders in the second layer have their longitudinal axes extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of the road.

Abstract: The oil control ring 1 is provided to attach in an annular groove 10 formed in a piston 2 for internal combustion engine. The spacer expander 4 comprises a base 8, a plurality of supports 6 and a plurality of arms 7. The supports 6 and arms 7 are integrally formed with the base 8 to extend from an outer periphery 8a or inner periphery 8b of the base 8. The supports 6 resiliently urge a side rail 5 mounted on the space expander 4 toward an upper surface 14 of the annular groove 10 so that during upward stroke of the piston 2, the supports 6 can be resiliently deformed to form between the side rail 5 and upper surface 14 of the groove 10 a radial passage through which oil scraped by the side rail can be drained. Each arm 7 is provided with a lug 8 to resiliently urge the side rail 5 in radial and outward direction.
Abstract: A process for preparing a hydrocarbon in water emulsion includes the steps of: providing a hydrocarbon phase containing a contaminant selected from the group consisting of vanadium, sulfur, and mixtures thereof; mixing a solid additive with the hydrocarbon phase, the solid additive being selected from the group consisting of calcium compounds, magnesium compounds and mixtures thereof so as to provide a hydrocarbon suspension including the solid additive; and forming an emulsion from the hydrocarbon suspension and an aqueous phase including a surfactant so as to form a combustible hydrocarbon in water emulsion having the solid additive suspended in the hydrocarbon phase.

Abstract: In a connection between a pipe and a molding, a tubular housing, fixed on the molding, engages around the pipe with an inner wall tapering conically toward the free end of the housing. Arranged between the pipe and the housing inner wall is a clamping ring, which braces the pipe with the housing in a wedge-like manner. The clamping ring is held in its wedging functional position by a spring element acting on it in the axial direction. The spring element can be locked in a prestressed state without force acting on the clamping ring. To establish the connection between the pipe and the molding, a locking clip passing through the housing is pulled out of the housing to relax the spring element.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for controlling a memory address of a digital signal processor in which a memory address is independently managed for each for during parallel processing of a plurality of jobs and no program of the same content as others is stored redundantly. Two bits of a high order A19 and A18 are masked among memory addresses of 20 bits from A0 to A19 which can be accessed for internal and external memories by a digital signal processor. In an address setting and an address computation performed on a program for executing each of jobs of the digital signal processor, only an address space of 18 bits from A0 to A17 can be accessed by an address pointer. The masked two bits of A19 and A18 are accessed by an address area register.
Abstract: A folding tool including a U-shaped handle and a tool element adapted to lie within the handle in its closed position, a tang at one end of the tool element fitted pivotally around a pivot axis between the two prongs of the handle, said pivot axis extending parallel to the plane defined by the tool element, wherein a locking leg extending parallel to the prongs is resiliently suspended on the inner side of the first prong such that a free end of the leg can be pressed towards the first prong against the action of a spring force. The locking leg is provided with locking means adapted to engage with an engagement part of the tang for locking the tool in its 180.degree. opened position, the locking state being disengaged by pushing the free end of the locking leg towards the first prong.
Abstract: A warning and measuring device for personal protection with a rod-shaped casing shape. The shape of the casing allows the device to be suitable 1. for measuring if held in the hand or mounted on a tripod, 2. for warning when carried on the body and 3. for leak detection in hollow conductors. This is made possible through a compact construction and a movable absorber which in an absorber package within a cap can be fitted to the casing while the cap is detachable and can be used as handle on the other end. The device can be economically manufactured and with regard to quality can be considered a high-quality measuring instrument.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and a method for separating a hydrocarbon containing material such as crude oil from water. The system of the present invention includes a treatment tank, a layer of a fluid having a chemical affinity for the hydrocarbon contain material being separated within the tank for separating the hydrocarbon containing material from said water without any mixing and with a minimum level of turbulence, and a distribution system for introducing the water with the hydrocarbon containing material into the layer of chemical affinity fluid. The method of the present invention broadly comprises the steps of providing a treatment tank having a layer of a fluid having a chemical affinity for the hydrocarbon containing material and separating the hydrocarbon containing material from the water without any mixing and with a minimum of turbulence by introducing the water with the hydrocarbon containing material into the layer of chemical affinity fluid.

Abstract: A side entry robot for removing molded articles from mold halves of a molding machine of the present invention and an associated process and molding machine are disclosed. The robot for use with the molding machine includes a device for engaging the article; a trolley for supporting and carrying the device for engaging into and out of the mold halves; a mechanism for guiding the trolley from outside the mold halves to a position between mold halves, wherein the mechanism for guiding is stationarily fixed between the mold halves and wherein the mechanism for guiding extends from outside the mold halves to between the mold halves; and a device for moving the trolley along the mechanism for guiding to a position between the mold halves and to a position outside of the mold halves.
Abstract: An improved tanning system involves the use of a film of material which is permeable to ultra-violet light and which is adapted to be laid on part of a human body, for example the torso. The film is covered in certain desired regions with a material which is impermeable to ultra-violet light which regions are surrounded by regions which are only slightly permeable to ultra-violet light. When a person wearing the film is subjected to tanning, the result is improved appearance of the torso, for example, the person may look fitter, slimmer and/or more muscular. The tanning may be achieved by either natural sunlight or by means of a sunbed.

The sheets include at least one perforation line permitting separation of the sheet into at least two separate sheets, and a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive on the bottom surface of the sheet and covering at least a portion of the bottom surface of each separate sheet.
Abstract: The well known slip casting process for the production of ceramic green parts, in which hardening is achieved by water removal with porous molds, is characterized by disadvantages in terms of strength, shrinkage during drying and problems with cracking during drying. The present invention avoids these disadvantages and produces ceramic green parts by changing the surface potential of powder particles in the slip instead of by removing water. Further more the coagulation strength is increased by adding polymers or extremely fine divided colloidal particles.
