  • Patent number: 5690851
Abstract: A drink can induction heating apparatus includes a ferrite core having a plurality of projected portions and recesses formed between the adjacent projected portions. When a drink can is set in a position to be heated, each of the projected portions is oriented toward a longitudinal axis of the drink can and a particular portion of a circumferential wall of the drink can. The apparatus further includes a saddle-shaped heating coil which is partly received in the recesses of the ferrite core and covers a region around the foregoing particular portions of the drink can in a non-contact manner, and an inverter for feeding the AC power to the heating coil. The inverter is arranged to produce the AC power at a resonance frequency which corresponds to one of 5 kHz to 15 kHz where equivalent resistance values of an aluminum can and a steel can approximate to each other.

  • Patent number: 5690204
Abstract: A hydraulic actuator consists of a cylinder and a piston whose primary face is acted on by a working fluid and from whose secondary face protrudes a piston rod, the working fluid being furnished by a pressure fluid source. In order to allow for fast shifting at a precise point in time even at lowest ambient temperatures, a secondary circuit leads from the pressure fluid source via a changeover valve through channels in the wall of the cylinder and through the cylinder space to the secondary side of the piston, the changeover valve being selectively operated in order to allow working fluid to act on the primary side of the piston. By this secondary circuit, the actuator is kept at working temperature.

  • Patent number: 5683198
Abstract: A corner connector (3) joins together two orthogonally disposed sections (1, 2) with C-shaped connecting means. The sections (1,2) have two flanges (11) with a strut (12) on each projecting inwards. The corner connector (3) comprises two angular pieces (4), at least two wedging pieces (5), at least two bolts (6) and at least two clamping pieces (7). The angular pieces (4) have on each flange a wedging surface (22) that press against the nose (14) of the struts (12), and a wedging surface (28) on the side opposite the flange. The wedging piece (5) is drawn by bolt (6) over the wedging surface (28) between the flanges (20), causing the flanges (20) to be tensed against the section. The clamping pieces (7) engage on the projections (13) on the struts (12). The wedging pieces (5) tensed against the clamping pieces (7) do not cause the flanges (11) to be spread apart. This arrangement results in a joint exhibiting high bend strength and high tensile strength in particular by means of friction.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system for training helicopter pilots, more particularly to a system to be used as a highly efficient means for complementing present methods for training pilots. The object of the invention is avoiding the stress to which the trainee is subjected during the first flights and providing understanding of the helicopter behavior easily and without risk. The invention proposes a system basically comprised by a structure and a conventional helicopter permitting simulating stationary or translational actual flight without separating from the ground. The structure comprises a shiftable base having a support for free rotation of a frame from which the helicopter is suspended, so that it may raise and lower within set limits and also that it may be tilted to the sides in a restricted way. This giving the possibility of practicing various maneuvers, also considerably reducing the training cost.
