Abstract: A coupler having an adapter element detachably held between a support member and a closure element. The support member defines an opening for receiving a connecting plug which feeds current to first spring pin. The connecting plug is provided with an opening for receiving a connecting pin for feeding current to a second spring pin. An insulating material is provided between the pin and the connecting plug and the connecting plug and support member respectively.

Abstract: Device for manufacturing cold-formed shaped forms of packaging out of a metal-plastic laminate where the said device contains a die with at least one die opening, in the die opening a stamp which may be driven by the die, and a retaining tool as a clamping facility that holds the laminate securely between the die and the clamping facility. The die and the retaining tool feature a facing edge region and the die, within the edge region, a shoulder region that surrounds the die opening, and the surface of the shoulder region lies 0.01 to 10 mm lower than the surface of the edge region of the die. Parts or in particular the whole of the shoulder region may be covered with a surface layer of low friction characteristics. The metal-plastic laminate is held clamped between the edge of the die and the edge of the retaining tool, and the stamp draws and stretches the part of the laminate in the region of the shoulder over the shoulder into the die opening.

Abstract: Articles of aluminum containing at least one unanodized surface or parts of at least one unanodized surface which are suitable for the deposition of layers or layer systems from the gas phase on said unanodized surfaces, the unanodized surfaces being of a refined aluminum with a degree of purity of equal to, or greater than, 98.3% by weight or aluminum alloys of said aluminum with at least one of the elements from the series comprising Si, Mg, Mn, Cu, Zn or Fe, and the surfaces have a peak-to-valley height Ra of equal to, or less than, 1 .mu.m, and the layer or the layer system is a reflective layer, in particular for radiations in the optical range.

Abstract: A process for producing a container and closure assembly includes molding a preliminary container including a closed bottom portion, a body portion and a shoulder and neck portion. The shoulder and neck portion is separated from the body portion. An open ended second container is formed from the body portion, the second container having a rim at its open end and an encircling wall. The open end of the second container is then closed with a closure comprised of a cap and a cap liner. The cap liner has a weakened portion adapted to be broken by the cap. The cap or the cap liner are formed from the shoulder and neck portion of the preliminary container.

Abstract: A catalyst useful for the simultaneous and selective hydrogenation of diolefins and nitriles present in a hydrocarbon feedstock. The support material is preferably selected from the group consisting of an inorganic oxide-zeolite composite, carbon and zeolite. A catalytically active phase is deposited on the support material. The catalytically active metal phase is selected from the group consisting of partially reduced Group IB metals and completely reduced Group VIII metals. The catalytically active metal phase is present in an amount of .gtoreq.0.03 wt %.

Abstract: A case for holding an elongated object is provided. The case includes a first containment portion for containing at least a first portion of the object. The first containment portion includes a door for exposing at least the first portion of the object. A second containment portion for containing at least a second portion of the object is also provided. The second containment portion is pivotally connected to the first containment portion and thereby pivotal relative the first containment portion through an angle having a magnitude for allowing clearance of the first portion from the first containment portion for allowing removal of the object from the first and second containment portions.

Abstract: An inventive orientation apparatus is provided in the present invention preferably for use with blow molding operations. The apparatus includes an object having a body portion and a neck portion. The neck portion has an outer peripheral surface and an alignment lug which extends outwardly from the peripheral surface and past the same. Additionally, a rotating support is included for supporting the object and causing the same to rotate, wherein the rotating support is movable with a moving carrier pallet. The apparatus also includes an orientating element located adjacent the carrier which engages the alignment lug on the object and stops the rotation of the object at a desired orientation. The invention may also include an orientation check device which is positioned upstream from the orientation element, adjacent the carrier, which is used for checking the orientation of the alignment lug for preventing a system jam.

Abstract: A composition for increasing the resistance of polyamide fibers or polyester fibers to oxidizing agents comprising an organosiloxane modified with amino groups, melamine formaldehyde resin, a catalyst for complexing the melamine formaldehyde resin and water. The composition is used by applying it to the fibers so the fibers absorb the composition, and then drying and curing the composition on the fibers. The composition is employed to treat a polyester or polyamide felt employed to convey wood pulp which is to be bleached, prior to paper making operations, treatment of the felt with the composition significantly lengthens the useful life of the felt, exposed to bleaching chemicals.

Abstract: A surgical staple remover includes a first elongate member having a forward first end, a rearward second end and a central portion therebetween, the first end terminating in two spaced anvil members, a second elongate member having a forward first end, a rearward second end and a central portion therebetween, the first end terminating in a blade member adapted to fit between the two spaced anvil members, a releasable pivot member for releasably and pivotably joining the first end of the first member and the first end of the second member at a pivot point, and a releasable joining member for joining the second end of the first member and the second end of the second member and for holding the releasable pivot member in a pivotably joined position, at least one of the first and second members being at least partially bowed whereby movement of the central portion of the first member relative to the central portion of the second member provides pivot of the anvil members relative to the blade member.

Abstract: A catalyst comprising a modified mordenite zeolite catalyst modified with Pt and a promoter selected from the group consisting of Group IIB, Grouo IVA, Group VIB and mixtures thereof is effectively used in a process for the simultaneous dehydrogenation and isomerization of paraffins to isoparaffins and isoolefins under controlled conditions. The catalyst is prepared by depositing on the modified mordenite zeolite catalyst sequentially Pt and thereafter the promoter.

Abstract: In a multipurpose object holder for skis, surfboards or the like an elastic device including a horizontal plate and two curved lateral tongues is inserted in a vertical guide fastened to a base. The radius of curvature of one tongue is greater than that of the other tongue, allowing for the definition of lateral transport compartments of different thickness. A further elastic tongue is attached to a mobile clamp. The objects to be transported can also be placed between the plate and the further elastic tongue. In a second version of the object holder the elastic device is fastened to a mobile clamp and has an X-shape cross-section that includes two V-shape lateral reinforcing members such that two ranges of pressure forces are defined.

Abstract: An elastic membrane filter, in particular for filtration of mash, has a lower feed pipe and a second or upper feed pipe passing through the filter elements at a location opposite the lower feed pipe, the upper feed pipe being connected of the lower feed pipe so that it is fed with liquid to be filtered from the downstream end of the lower feed pipe and flowing in the opposite direction to the liquid in the lower feed pipe, a pipe connecting the lower and the upper feed pipes.

Abstract: The invention concerns a packaging tube comprising a multi-layer pure plastic laminate and a sealing arrangement for tube heads for the packaging of materials with volatile substances such as flavouring or scent substances, which has a resistance to diffusion which is the same as or comparable to tubes which in their laminate structure have a metal layer as a diffusion barrier and which improves the recycling of tubes.

Abstract: In an apparatus for sieving, grading, sifting, filtering or sorting dry solid substances or solid substances in liquids having a sieve surface provided in a sieve frame and an ultrasound transducer (10) which is associated with the sieve surface (18) and by which oscillations can be fed to the sieve surface, associated with the ultrasound transducer (10) is at least one resonator (14) which bears against the sieve surface (18) and which is tuned to the resonance of the ultrasound transducer and which can be caused to oscillate thereby, in particular with flexural oscillations. The resonator (14) which in an embodiment is disposed in the center of the sieve surface (18) is to be provided with resonance-transmitting elements (16) which project finger-like from the resonator on the sieve surface (18) and which project radially from same in the form of bar resonators.

Abstract: The foregoing objects are attained by the inventive opposed gating injection method and apparatus of the instant invention for forming molded articles and for use with injection molders wherein a first mold half and a second mold half are adapted to cooperate and form at least one mold cavity. The invention includes a first injector nozzle positioned in a first mold half adjacent the cavity, for injecting a first molding resin into the cavity through a first orifice. A second injector nozzle is included which is positioned in the second mold half adjacent the cavity for injecting a second molding resin. The second resin may be different from the first resin or the same as the first resin. The second resin is injected through a second orifice unconnected with the first orifice. In accordance with the invention, the injector nozzles may be either simultaneously or sequentially activated for filling the mold cavity, and may be single material or co-injection type nozzles.

Abstract: A source of free lime is introduced into a cooling zone of a cement kiln in an amount to elevate the free lime content to a content of 0.6 to 2.0%, by weight. This addition is made without altering the normal or standard process operating parameters of the kiln for cement clinker production. The free lime content of 0.6 to 2.0%, by weight, provides advantageous characteristics in cement produced with the cement clinker.
