Abstract: A security system for electrical appliances and other items with electrical circuitry includes a signal source operating within a predetermined zone. A receiver within the appliance or other item receives the signal and activates a circuit thereby permitting operability of the appliance or other item when the signal is received. The appliance or other item is disabled upon removal from the zone.
Abstract: An apparatus for lifting a pneumatic hammer from the hammer's work surface. A pneumatic lift attachment is provided having a support housing. Attached to the support housing is a lift plate, containing a guide hole and an adjustable chain, for securing a pneumatic hammer to the lift plate. Defined within the housing is an air cylinder containing a piston having a piston rod. The piston is responsive to air supplied to the air cylinder, which drives the piston and piston rod downward. Attached to the bottom of the piston rod is a foot. As the foot meets the ground's surface, the support housing is lifted, freeing the attached hammer from the work surface.

Abstract: An earth boring apparatus is illustrated including an engine and an earth boring string wherein a hydraulic clutch driven by the engine is supplied with hydraulic fluid through an electrically operated valve controlled by a manually operated trigger so that release of the trigger resulting from a torque as may be occasioned by encountering a rock or other obstruction interrupts manual operation of the trigger disabling the clutch.
Abstract: These as well as other objects are accomplished by an improvement to a computer numerically controlled apparatus wherein there is provided a vertically oriented workholder including means for guiding the workholder into and out of the enclosure of a computer numerically controlled apparatus. The workholder includes means for holding a plurality of shafts in a vertical orientation to permit the plurality of shafts to be machined within the computer numerically controlled apparatus with only one loading and unloading of the apparatus.
Abstract: An apparatus for correcting irregularities in a moving textile strand utilizes sensors B and C making measurements reflecting variations in capacitance of a moving textile strand, and a computer E supplying data reflecting the characteristics of the strand as a result of varying moisture content in a similar strand for reducing the effect of moisture contained in the strand upon the measurements and upon an autoleveller controlling the strand in response to said measurements.
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the surface of a substrate has a normally horizontal surface for mounting a solid thereon, a device for rotating the surface and a counter synchronized with the rotational device to indicate the amount of rotation and a switch for simultaneously initiating activation of the rotating device and synchronized counter and for simultaneously deactivating both the rotational device and the synchronized counter.
Abstract: A guitar support apparatus which supports a guitar in the playing position while the guitarist is in the sitting position, consisting of a leg support strap supporting three legs hinged together and having guitar support means opposite the strap.
Abstract: Metallic card clothing is illustrated having sharp metallic points at tips of teeth formed by punching and thereafter exerting a mechanical force bending metal over at the tips of the teeth.
Abstract: A tension compensator for a textile strand includes an electronic closed loop arrangement for use intermediate means delivering the strand which may be at constant speed and a take up or other consuming apparatus such as a package onto which the strand is being wound at a varying rate.
Abstract: A male undergarment having a waistband at the top thereof, thigh encircling leg portions at the bottom thereof and a crotch portion between the leg and circling portions with the improvement in the form of a rectangular section of fabric attached at the leg portions and at the bottom thereof near the crotch portion to define a pouch between the leg portions for the placement of the male sex organ therein and isolation of the sex organ from the remainder of the interior of the underwear structure.
Abstract: An absorbable surgical tie which permits positive locking an quick adaptation, particularly during the performance of feline and canine hysterectomies.
Abstract: By an exercise garment comprising a waistband, a pair of upper leg straps attached to the waistband for positioning about the thighs with weight attachments at the front of the thighs, a pair of lower leg straps for placement about the calves and providing for weight attachment in the back of the calves. An upper body strengthening suit complements the lower body suit and has provisions for weights up the spinal cord across the shoulders to the elbows. This is carried out through the use of an upper waist strap with a generally T-shaped portion having a T-base up the spine for the support of weights with a cap to the "T" crossing the shoulders extending to the elbows and provided for placement of weights therein. Shoulder straps attach the upper T cap across the shoulders down the front of the wearer back to the upper waist strap for support thereof.
Abstract: A refuse collecting tool for the sanitary collection of animal excrement or other refuse which is preferably not handled directly. The device includes a tubular handle having a gripping portion attached to its upper end and a scoop, elliptical in cross-section, attached to its lower end. The scoop is divided into opposing jaws which are hinged together along their top edges and constantly urged to a closed condition by coil springs attached to their end walls. A rod extending through the tubular handle is provided on its top end with a lever which extends radially through slots in the tubular handle that are located beneath the gripping portion, and on its other end with a flat rectangular plate sized to fit within the center region of the closed scoop. Upward pressure on the lever forces the opposing jaws of the scoop open as the rectangular plate is forced upwardly into the decreasing diameter of the top of the scoop.
Abstract: A tenter clip is disclosed having a jaw which is pivotally mounted in an intermediate portion on an upper member of a housing which extends inwardly over a lower plate wherein repair of the wear points is facilitated by providing a central bushing pressed into the jaw for receiving a pin upon which the jaw is pivoted. An outwardly extending fixed controller is carried by a depending gripping portion of the jaw, and a transverse slot opens in a lower edge of the gripping portion removably receiving a gripping blade.
Abstract: A dispensing cartridge comprising a plurality of stacked individual articles formed of rigid or semi-rigid thermoplastic material, each article being fusion bonded at its periphery to adjacent articles in the stacked relationship. The cartridges are formed by passing a stack of the articles through a heating zone to fusion bond the articles one to the other without producing any visual discontinuity about the periphery of the cartridge.
Abstract: A robotic gripper is described having opposed fingers which are positively opened and closed through the use of a bushing, powered for a limited stroke up and down by fluid pressure, wherein the bushing is carried within a recess closely conforming thereto in the fingers, and an overlapping or over-gripping action of the fingers is provided by reason of slightly tapering opposed engaging surfaces carried by the grippers.
Abstract: A batcher and the like is illustrated for utilizing torque control rather than speed control to vary the packing ratio of the rolls of a surface wound cloth roll. A phase shifting differential transmission is controlled by a condensor in series with the armature of a field wound D.C. motor in a drive between the rolls responsive to cloth tension to maintain such tension substantially constant.
