The process of the invention describes an improved method of manufacturing orthopedic supports.

Abstract: Apparatus for removing gaseous monomer emitted during the manufacture of polymer fibers collects the gaseous monomer in a suction nozzle constructed of smooth polymeric material having low heat conductivity to avoid monomer buildup therein and delivers same upwardly through a water trap to a transport duct which is kept sufficiently wet to receive and remove monomer solids carried in the water which flows by gravity in the duct.

Abstract: An animal feeder having a hopper (A) with a shelf-like bottom (B) dispenses a predetermined amount of animal feed into an animal feeding bowl (F). The bowl is supported by a vertical rod (D), which is supported by the bottom and which protrudes through a central passage therein. The act of feeding by the animal moves the bowl, agitating the rod and thereby causing the predetermined amount of feed to be discharged through the central passage and into the bowl.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for packaging frozen food includes positioning a stationary hopper above a rotating plate having spaced openings receiving frozen food from the hopper and directing same into spaced vertical cylinders of predetermined volume preparatary to discharge, the cylinders and associated parts being constructed of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene and the like to avoid sticking and binding of the frozen food thereon.

Abstract: Apparatus is illustrated for limiting the movement of tenter frame rails in order to avoid damage, particularly to chains, resulting from excessive movement which includes a spring biased plunger valve carried by the rail on one side of a rail junction, while the other side of the junction carries a member having a predetermined surface for actuating a switch when the member moves to an extreme position where it can no longer support the plunger against the resilient force of the spring, causing a switch to be activated to deactivate the motor imparting transverse movement to the rails.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed for the measurement of hydrogen peroxide concentration from within a textile bleaching bath. The apparatus comprising a sample chamber, a process valve between a source of the solution to be tested and the sample chamber, a reagent valve between a source of reagent and the sample chamber, a pressure measurement tube attached to and extending from the sample chamber, an exhaust valve in communication with the sample chamber, and a pump at a location between the exhaust valve and exhaust device. The process measures hydrogen peroxide concentration by the pressure of the oxygen given off into a known volume as a result of a chemical reaction between the hydrogen peroxide and sodium hypochlorite.

Abstract: A fishing lure has a substantially flat, bendable elongated body of rigid, hard, molded lead like material with an eyelet attached preferably by being embedded adjacent each end thereof, and to which a decorative material for attracting fish is applied. The elongated relatively heavy body has a cross section with a major axis and a minor axis about which the body may be manually bent, and because of the weight of the material casting is facilitated. Molding the body while attaching the eyelets and thereafter coating the body and applying a reflective material which may include an adhesive tape thereto simplifies the manufacture of the lure.

Abstract: A system for the automatic operation of a marine bilge pump is provided. The system comprises, in series, a fluid level detector, a fluid level discrimination circuit, and pump control circuitry. The fluid level detector uses an AC signal to determine when an unacceptable level of bilge water is present. The discrimination circuit determines when the fluid level detector is sensing a true level reading, as opposed to mere bilge water sloshing. If the water level is indeed too high, a bilge pump is activated. The system may be adapted for multiple pump operation. Furthermore, an emergency backup circuit, as well as alarms and a test circuit, may be added.

Abstract: An illuminated spirit level comprising an elongated bar having a number of apertures wherein bubble tubes are positioned for measurement of the flatness of a surface. An illumination means including lamps, a system of conductor wires, a dual battery configuration connected in series and a switch are contained within the bar. Each aperture is illuminated by a lamp and each lamp communicates with the batteries by conductor wires which are immersed in a channel containing a vibration-dampening fluid. The fluid is supplied through a duct which is accessible from the exterior of the bar. A switch protruding through the exterior of the bar permits power to the lamps.
