  • Patent number: 5046209
Abstract: A batch dyeing machine 10 has separate imperforate compartments A and B for facilitating washing of a length of fabric as it is transported from one compartment to the other. A squeeze roll 50 prevents used wash water from passing from one compartment into the other with the fabric. By separating the compartments, wash liquid is conserved in that only one of the compartments need be filled at a time and a counterflow wash system is provided. Thus, the washing capabilities of a batch dyeing machine have been enhanced.

  • Patent number: 5042769
Abstract: A device for providing an adjustable hanging file holder frame which is adaptable to a variety of existing office and desk organizing systems. In the preferred form of the invention, resilient, flexible clips are used to attach support rods to existing office or desk organization systems. The support rods provide the frame or rail upon which hanging files may be placed. The support rods are reversibly attached to the resilient clip members by a coupling head. The coupling head is configured to allow its forcible insertion into a mated receptacle within the clip member. When the support rod coupling head is within the receptacle, the clip mechanism is free to rotate about the support rod. The clip permits a variety of different shaped objects to be secured, providing a versatile, adaptable means of providing a hanging file folder frame.

  • Patent number: 5037454
Abstract: A gas purification apparatus which is operable utilizing an upflow direct impingement coalescer. A central inlet in the lower portion of a column expands the flow of air and liquid droplets (vertical flow to horizontal separation). The droplets lose velocity and are impinged in the packing. Migration is first outward from the main gas flow and then downward. Finally, the liquids are drained at the bottom. A collar around the central inlet insures that liquid will not reenter into the central inlet.

  • Patent number: 5036916
Abstract: A method and apparatus for locating and determining the quality of a downhole wet cement abandonment plug positioned in an open bore hole. The quality of the plug is detetmined by retrieving a sample of the wet cement mixture to the surface by remotely operating a fluid sampler included as one component in a logging tool. The sample permits the determination of the purity and quality of a downhole wet cement plug, providing valuable information for assessing whether the plug will set properly. Thus the method and apparatus greatly reduces the risk of plug failure due to an inferior cement mixture resulting from the intrusion of contaminants in a wet cement plug.
