  • Patent number: 7665749
Abstract: A suspension system for a vehicle is provided that allows for the vehicle body to be tilted wherein the tilt is controlled by the operator's legs in a manner that greatly enhances the stability of the vehicle while producing a fun vehicle to operate. Further, the bottom member of the suspension system is structured in a manner that provides storage capacity for installation of heavy items such as battery banks in order to preserve a lowered center of gravity for the vehicle. The tilting suspension may be used in the context of three-wheeled vehicle having a single rear drive tire and two forward wheels, but apply equally to a four wheeled vehicle as well as to water craft operating on pontoons or snow vehicles operating on skis.

  • Patent number: 7655719
Abstract: A thermally conductive polymer composition having enhanced mechanical properties is provided. The polymer composition consists of a base polymer matrix loaded with fillers that results in a thermal conductivity that is greater than 1.5 W/m° K and a tensile modulus within an acceptable range making the composition suitable for structural plastic applications, such as between 1,700 to 12,000 Mpa and more preferably between approximately 2,700 to 10,000 Mpa and even more preferably in the range of between approximately 4,000 to 9,000 Mpa. In addition to a tensile modulus within the identified range the composition also includes an elongation to break value that is at least above 1.0% and more preferably in the range of about 1.2% to 10%.

  • Patent number: 7652303
Abstract: The present invention provides a lighting head assembly that incorporates a high intensity LED package into an integral assembly including a heat sink and circuit board for further incorporation into other useful lighting devices. The present invention primarily includes a heat sink member that also serves as a mounting die and a reflector cup into which the LED package is mounted. The circuit board is placed behind the reflector cup and includes riser members that extend through holes in the rear wall of the reflector cup to facilitate electrical connections to the leads of the LED. This particular means for assembly allows the reflector cup and circuit board to cooperate to retain the LED package, provide electrical and control connections, provide integral heat sink capacity and includes an integrated reflector cup.

  • Patent number: 7653580
Abstract: The method of evaluating differences in the past performance of an asset class population of book valued investments. The analysis period that is of a length to include a significant portion of a market cycle is defined. A series of evaluation-period and selection-period performance statistics are calculated for the asset class population. Testing is conducted to find the correlation, performance and risk axes of the population as revealed during the analysis period. The dividing lines are calculated for subsequent evaluation-period populations of the asset class and use the groupings so identified to assign a value to each of the members of the asset class. This value will be the expected average performance strength of the investments within each group for a subsequent selection period. Findings of subsequent evaluation-period and selection periods can be included as they become available in the analysis period populations for re-execution of the method.

  • Patent number: 7649124
Abstract: Provided is a process for adsorptive separation of p-xylene from an aromatic hydrocarbon mixture comprising other isomers of xylene, and a device used therein. More specifically, the present invention provides a separation process employing simulated moving bed (SMB) adsorptive chromatography, characterized by subjecting the extracts eluted from a plurality of adsorption chambers arranged in parallel, to a crystallizer for additional separation, thereby improving productivity, and a device used therein.

  • Patent number: 7644986
Abstract: Energy absorbing webbing is provided for use in child safety seat and child restraint devices. A harness system includes energy-absorbing regions into the construction of the harness to allow some release or extension of the harness during use. The energy-absorbing regions of the harness are formed using energy-absorbing webbing in a given region or regions to permit the webbing to extend or elongate so that strong forces are not fully and directly imparted to the child. The energy-absorbing region may be installed at various positions within the child safety seat and harness system and may be incorporated into the child safety harness as original equipment or as a retrofit feature.

  • Patent number: 7637402
Abstract: A dispensing closure for viscous fluids contains a closure body, a closure lid and a living hinge structure hingeably connecting the closure lid to the closure body. The closure body includes an upper deck, a skirt configured and arranged to mount to a product container, and a flow conduit extending through the upper deck to provide a flow path from an interior of the closure to an exterior of the closure. The flow conduit includes an entrance orifice and an exit orifice, and an inner wall extending between the entrance orifice and the exit orifice. To provide the desired flow effect, the inner wall includes at least one flow inhibitor structure, such as helically threaded flights extending at least partially inwardly from the inner wall into the flow path to define an unobstructed central flow path and a partially obstructed peripheral flow path.

  • Patent number: 7635795
Abstract: Provided is a process for adsorptive separation of p-xylene from an aromatic hydrocarbon mixture comprising other isomers of xylene, and a device used therein. More specifically, the present invention provides a separation process employing simulated moving bed (SMB) adsorptive chromatography, characterized by pretreating a fluid mixture, i.e. the feed, by using single adsorption chamber so as to raise the concentration of a component to be separated, and then carrying out the simulated moving bed adsorptive separation, thereby improving productivity, and a device used therein.
