Abstract: A corner filler for the inside corner of the openable end of paint containers. The corner filler is made from resilient material in the form of a ring. The thickness of the ring is sufficient to fill the space between the inside wall of the container and the inside surface of the outer edge of the sealing lip. The corner filler as defined allows all of the paint to be poured from the container and makes the container easier to clean.
Abstract: A vehicle of the type having an opening in its roof on which a molding is formed around the perimeter of the opening. The molding includes a rigid section and a resilient element carried thereby. The rigid section is attached to and supported on the roof at the perimeter of the opening and extends into the opening and about the perimeter underlying a resilient element so as to support the resilient element against motion in a direction toward the interior of the vehicle. At the forward end of the vehicle opening a wind deflector is mounted to the rigid section of the molding. This is accomplished by means of a bayonet member and a retainer member carried on the lower side of the wind deflector with their outer extending ends being in opposing relationship and adapted to engage the upper and lower surfaces of the rigid section of the molding so as to releasably secure the wind deflector thereto.
Abstract: A ski edge has an undercut or hollow forming an inner wall providing greater control and edge grip while skiing particularly on hard snow or ice when executing a turn or stopping. The reservoir is provided with a plurality of apertures which permit the flow of heated water from the reservoir into the receptacle, while the receptacle is provided with a plurality of slits that permit the flow of brewed coffee from the receptacle into the cup in time relation to the flow of heated water from the reservoir into the receptacle. The receptacle includes an integral, radially extending flange that supports the coffee brewer on the upper edges of the cup.
Abstract: The inflatable apparatus, such as an air bag for a vehicle, includes an inflatable body structure which is folded along predetermined lines into a compact shape and volume when the body structure is collapsed or deflated. The valve means is operably connected to the inflatable body structure to facilitate inflation of the apparatus. The inflatable structure is formed and folded in such a fashion that upon operation of the valve, the body structure inflates in a manner wherein the folds puff up simultaneously effecting an even, smooth inflation of the structure to a very large shape and volume which is much greater than the compact predetermined folded shape and volume. One version of the air bag is utilized for the driver of the vehicle, and a second version of the air bag is utilized to accommodate two passengers simultaneously.
Abstract: A freight retaining device adapted to be positioned between opposite, vertical walls of a freight containing compartment, such as a railroad freight car. The device is in the form of a swingboard fabricated from a pair of plastic sheets each having a plurality of longitudinally disposed and laterally spaced ribs separated by integral webs. The sheets are joined in an abutting relationship such that the ribs project outwardly on opposite sides of the joined sheets while the sheet outer edges are fused to define a unitary member. The opposite, longitudinal ends of the unitary member are provided with means for releasably engaging supporting rails carried by the opposite, vertical walls of the freight containing compartment.
Abstract: An air deflector blade for vehicles and the like is pivotally movable between a substantially vertical orientation and a substantially horizontal orientation in response to the wind velocity created thereupon. The pivotal mounting enables the blade to rotate between the vertical and horizontal positions.
Abstract: A contoured inner bathing tub or litter having a multiplicity of perforations or apertures formed therein is removably positioned within a complementarily contoured outer tub. The outer tub is supported on a mobile frame. The present invention permits a patient to be easily positioned on the litter and, then, bathed while resting stationary and in a natural position within the inner tub. The perforations enable the bathing liquid to enter the litter for washing the patient.
Abstract: A transmission mechanism in a driving means for the needle of sewing machines. A needle holder having a needle secured thereto and fitted on a needle guide rod so that it is vertically oscillated thereon is joined to an oscillatory arm oscillatable along the needle guide rod by slidably fitting a front end portion of the latter in a passage provided in an end portion of a horizontal shaft which is fitted in the needle holder so as to be rotated therein to some extent. The passage in the end portion of the horizontal shaft is made at right angles thereto. The horizntal shaft has a vertical passage the diameter of which is large enough to prevent the needle guide rod passed therethrough from being slided on the inner surface thereof. The needle holder has a sufficiently large slide surface with respect to the needle guide rod.
Abstract: A game for at least two players wherein one of the players manually propels a disk-shaped projectile so as to glide the projectile through one of at least three hoops positioned in a common plane and mounted between the players such that the projectile may be caught by the other of the players after the projectile has glided through one of the hoops. The support structure for the hoops may include either one or two vertically extending legs, each of which includes L-shaped brackets at its lower end which function to hold the legs in an upright position. The three hoops are so arranged that at least two hoops abut at least one other hoop and the upper end portion of the supporting structure. The hoops are mounted at a predetermined level above the playing surface, and the hoops are of different diameters to provide varying target areas. The hoops are accorded point values that decrease as the areas of the hoops are increased.
Abstract: An apparatus for attachment to a recording machine of the type in which a printed record is made on a continuous strip of paper, such as a paper tape, traveling over a rotating platen wherein the tape is fed into the machine from a tape roll. The apparatus comprises a support frame having a pair of laterally spaced frame members which are interconnected in such a manner that the distance between the members may be selectively adjusted to accommodate tapes of varying widths. The frame members have spaced spindles which mount a feed roll that supplies the paper tape to the recorder machine, while a second pair of spaced spindles are carried by the frame members for rotatably mounting a take-up reel. The end of the tape passing through the recording machine is attached to the take-up reel in such a manner that the tape may be rewound thereon.
Abstract: A coffee brewer, and, in particular, a single cup coffee brewer includes separate first and second members. The first member seats on a cup or similar receptacle and has a ground coffee receiving chamber formed therein. The second member is used to regulate the flow of hot water of similar fluid into the chamber. An aperture formed in the first member allows brewed coffee to flow from the chamber into the receptacle and regulates, by its size, the flow time of brewed coffee into the receptacle. A seal between the two members prevents the ground coffee from soaking in the brewing fluid.

Abstract: A positive locking differential mechanism that functions to compensate for the difference in driving wheel travel which occurs when turning or traveling over uneven ground, while at the same time functioning to prevent wheel-slip when one wheel loses traction. The differential comprises a spider and center cam assembly having a plurality of trunnions projecting radially from the spider. A plurality of fixed driving clutch teeth are disposed on each side of the spider. The internal diameter of the spider mounts the center cam in such a manner that the same may be rotated a limited, predetermined distance. The center cam is symmetric, having cam lifts on each side which include rounded surfaces that provide anti-friction ramps for disengaging driven clutch members mounted on each side of the spider and center cam assembly. The driven clutch members have clutch teeth which correspond to the clutch teeth of the spider and through which a driving torque is transmitted.
Abstract: An air-pressure splint sized to fully encase an injured human leg. The splint comprises inner and outer flexible wall members which are joined to each other by seaming about the perimeter to define an air-tight sealed relationship between the walls forming a double-walled, sealed, inflatable envelope. The envelope has separable air-tight margins adapted to be releasably connected to each other by a zipper-type fastener to hold the pressure splint in a surrounding position around the human leg. The upper end of the envelope has an uneven peripheral contour such that a portion of the envelope end extends upward above the leg for restraining the splint against rotation about the injured leg when the splint is in an inflated mode.
