  • Patent number: 4502726
Abstract: A control apparatus for a pivotal/sliding roof panel powered by a reversible electric drive motor operative to move a roof panel from a closed position in a roof opening in a vehicle to either of a venting or an open position. The control apparatus includes a first, operable switch which connects electrical power in one of two opposite polarities to the electric drive motor. A sensor detects when the roof panel is in the closed position. A control device, energizable by the activation of the first switch and the output of the sensor when the roof panel reaches the closed position from either of the venting or open positions, switches its output to disconnect the drive motor from the source of electric power.

  • Patent number: 4500174
Abstract: An electrochromic imaging apparatus utilizing electrochromic iridium oxide and a thin-film solid ionic conductor. In a transmissive cell, a first electrode, a photoconductive material layer, an electrochromic iridium oxide layer, an ionic conductive material layer and a second electrode are successively disposed on a substrate. The electrochromic iridium oxide exhibits coloration when an electric field of one polarity is applied across the first and second electrodes to record an image which is incident upon the substrate. Reversal of the polarity of the electric field across the first and second electrode causes bleaching of the electrochromic iridium oxide. In a reflective cell, a light blocking layer having a reflective surface is disposed between the photoconductive material layer and the electrochromic iridium oxide to optically separate a viewing light incident upon the second electrode from the image incident on the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4498160
Abstract: A simplified record player having a fixed record member and a rotatable turn table carrying a sound reproducing stylus which rotates together with the turn table. Until the record is positioned on the record holding portion of the player, the reproducing stylus is disposed in a recessed portion or an opening so as to be shielded from the outside. When the record is positioned and fixed to the record holding portion, a projecting rod attached to the center of the record pushes a pusher placed about the center pin of the player such that the pusher advances along the center pin. By a wedge action given by an inclined face of the head of the pusher, a tone arm carrying the reproduction stylus is pushed outward so that the reproduction stylus can be positioned to confront the recorded face of the record. By virtue of this construction, the design defect of injuries to an operator's body by an exposed stylus can be entirely prevented.

  • Patent number: 4494649
Abstract: An accumulating conveyor having a plurality of spaced article support stations. A plurality of conveyor modules are reciprocally mounted along the length of the conveyor, with each module being so mounted as to be movable between a pair of adjacent stations. Each module comprises a housing having a reciprocally mounted actuating rod, the outer ends of which are adapted to alternately engageably abut the outer ends of the actuating rods carried by the modules immediately ahead and behind. Article engaging levers carried by each module become operative upon movement of their associated actuating rods to engage an article in one of the associated support stations to transfer the article to the next advanced or forward station when the modules are reciprocated towards the unload station. Each support station has a sensing arm rotatably affixed thereto which detects the presence or absence of an article in the next advanced station.

  • Patent number: 4491305
Abstract: An automobile dolly for supporting the front end of a front wheel drive vehicle during transmission repair having a wheel supported frame sufficiently narrow to pass between the tracks of a vehicle hoist. In one embodiment front and rear tubular transverse supports are attached to the frame and spaced inward from and above the tracks, each support having a pair of opposed transversely adjustable sleeves telescopically engaging the tubular transverse supports and adapted for projecting over the tracks when positioned between the same. A vertically adjustable support member is attached to each opposed front sleeve and configured to abut and support the vehicle. In a second embodiment the frame pivotally mounts a single transverse support which includes adjustable sleeves adapted to telescopically project over the tracks. The sleeves have vertical support members for receiving and supporting the frame of the vehicle to permit the vehicle to be moved by means of the dolly.

  • Patent number: 4489833
Abstract: A case for transporting and storing guns. The case includes a flexible body having a sealed interior space. The body has a concave configuration defined by opposed sides, an integral bottom and an open top. An inflation member is mounted on the body and disposed in communication with the interior space within the flexible body for enabling the flexible body to be inflated and deflated. A fastener is provided for closing the open top end of the gun case to enclose a gun disposed within the sides and bottom of the body. In a preferred embodiment, an outer cover is provided which encircles the outer surface of the flexible body and includes a fastener mounted on opposite sides of an elongated aperture disposed adjacent the open top of the flexible body for releasably closing the aperture in the outer cover and, thereby, the open top of the flexible body. An inner cover is secured to the inner surface of the gun case to prevent puncture of the flexible body.

  • Patent number: 4486871
Abstract: A continuous repeating type simplified sound reproducing device including on its casing, a fixed locking lever having a locking face parallel to the plane of rotation of a record disc and a rotating locking lever on the record disc which rotates together with the record disc and is able to enter under the locking face of the fixed locking lever only when the record disc is placed at its retracted position. At least one of the locking faces of the two locking members are arranged to have a face length corresponding to the angle of rotation sufficient to maintain the record disc at its retracted position until the record disc has completely returned to the starting point of sound reproduction. By virtue of this construction, satisfactory returning motion of this continuous repeating type sound reproduction device can be assured by a comparatively simplified construction.

  • Patent number: 4482990
Abstract: The sound-reproducing device for playing the record disc has a number of selection poles corresponding to the member of recorded grooves and a stylus force releasing wheel normally urged to a specific direction but which rotated by one of the selection poles to release stylus force on a pickup. The stylus force releasing wheel includes a locking arm confronting the back face of the selection pole in an advanced position for pushing the inclined face of the releasing wheel. Each of the selection poles has a jaw which catches the locking arm and prevents the selection pole when in an advanced position from retraction. A locking device locks the stylus force releasing wheel at the position to which the wheel has rotated. A record disc unit includes a turn table and a record face member disposed in a stacked but axially separable arrangement. A stopper pin is disposed on the record face member.
