  • Patent number: 4543517
Abstract: An electronic system for controlling the extent of motion in the start and stop positions of a hydraulically driven member includes cold start compensation. The driven member is equiped with a voltage sensitive circuit which provides a voltage indicative of the position of the driven member along its path of motion. The position indicative voltage is compared with reference voltages and the resulting comparison voltages actuate switching circuitry to effect changes in the acceleration and deceleration of the driven member and to control the start and stop positions of the driven member. Hydraulic or mechanical apparatus responsive to the switching circuitry controls the motion extend and velocity of the driven member in accordance with the comparison voltages.

  • Patent number: 4542473
Abstract: A gage block set includes a plurality of gage blocks mounted within a case, each gage block having opposed gage surfaces with a nominal dimension therebetween and a known deviation from the nominal dimension. Sensors associated with each gage block sense the removal of each gage block from the case. A signal generator provides a distinct signal corresponding to which gage block is removed from the case. A memory stores the known deviation of each gage block within the case. A control unit responsive to the signal generator addresses and retrieves from the memory the known deviation for each gage block which is removed from the case, combines the known deviation with the deviations of previously removed gage blocks and outputs the total deviation to a display device.

  • Patent number: 4541845
Abstract: A process for the separation of solid and/or liquid particles from gases or solids from liquids, as well as for the separation of gases or liquids with different densities is proposed, in which a Venturi tube is used. The gas and/or liquid mixture is introduced inwards in radially symmetrical manner from the outside through the slot of an annular nozzle at a high flow velocity which, in the case of gases, extends up to the velocity of sound. The gas is subject to the action of a high centrifugal acceleration in the slot, which has a radius of curvature of approximately 1 to 100 mm.

  • Patent number: 4541085
Abstract: An acoustic playback device includes a plurality of selector bars equal to the number of recording grooves, a plurality of biased stylus-pressure releasing bars, the bars moving against the force of the associated spring as the corresponding selector bar is pushed into engagement with a stopper pin on the record disc to bring the introductory portion of the selected recording groove to a position where it can be engaged by a pickup. A latch plate is axially spaced from the reverse side of the record disc unit. An annular vertical wall is formed on the surface of the latch plate facing the record disc unit. Hooks on the stylus-pressure releasing bars engage the vertical wall when the stylus-pressure releasing bars are moved forward. Stylus-pressure releasing portions formed on the ends of the stylus-pressure releasing bars engage the stopper pin when advanced with the stylus-pressure releasing bars.

  • Patent number: 4538750
Abstract: A bed and pack frame is convertible between an elongated bed frame configuration and a nested pack carrying configuration. The frame includes first and second members, each having first and second spaced side rails. Interconnecting members depend from and interconnect the side rails of each of the first and second members into a rigid support structure. The first and second side rails are releasably interconnectable to form a co-planar bed support frame and are separable so as to be re-arranged in a nested pack carrying configuration.

  • Patent number: 4537285
Abstract: A conveyor lubrication apparatus includes a counter for energizing lubrication devices once for each predetermined number of cycles of the conveyor past a lubrication station. Timers energized by the counter activate control valves for a predetermined period of time to supply lubricant to parts of the conveyor as each part reaches the lubrication station. A current sense circuit detects current flow to the control valves and energizes the central lubricant supply pump to pressurize the lubricant flow lines for a predetermined period of time, at the end of which the pump is de-energized until the next control valve is energized. A pressure sensor is disposed in the lubricant flow lines to detect a low pressure level and causes the pump to be de-energized and an alarm to be activated.

  • Patent number: 4526242
Abstract: A drilling device which can be lowered in a drill hole consists of a drive device, a drill which is rotated by this drive device and a clamping device formed as a unit which can be engaged with the inside wall of the drill hole and serves to transfer the torque of the drive to the drill. The drill consists of a ring-shaped housing, the outside diameter of which corresponds with the diameter of the drill hole and the upper part of is closed off by a plate. The housing contains several cutting tools which are equipped with bore crowns which serve to cut out a drill core and which are arranged at uniform distances and parallel with the longitudinal axis of the drilling device. Using additional drive devices, the cutting tools are designed to impart impact impulses and/or additional rotational movements in an axial direction. All drive devices are fluid actuated in such a manner that the clamping device is actuated initially and the drill is subsequently activated by the increasing pressure of the fluid medium.

  • Patent number: 4525192
Abstract: A method of making level vials includes the steps of heating a hollow glass tube and inserting the heated glass tube to a mold having a plurality of successively arranged mold cavities, each configured to the shape of one level vial having an enlarged, bulbous-shaped central portion and two circular cross-sectional end portions. Next, one end of the glass tube is removably sealed and a pressurized fluid, such as air, is injected into the opposite end of the glass tube, causing the heated glass tube to expand into contact with the walls of the mold cavities to form a plurality of connected vial sections. Apertures are formed, such as by drilling, in each vial section for subsequent filling of each vial with a liquid and a gaseous level indicating bubble. Each vial section is separated by a cutter and the ends of each vial section are sealed by heat from a heat source.

  • Patent number: 4521914
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for automatically indicating the alpha-numeric station designation of a received frequency signal in one of a plurality of frequency ranges in a radio or TV receiver. The circuit includes a counter for determining the frequency of the received signal. The counter addresses a first memory containing address information. A second memory connected to the first memory is addressed by the output of the first memory. The second memory stores information corresponding to the station designations of the received frequency signals. A third memory resets the counter to 0 to the lowest frequency within each range of receiving frequency signals.
