Abstract: A wear resistant body mountable at a directional change point within a particulate material duct. A plurality of successively spaced cavities are formed in the body to trap and collect particulates flowing across the body such that the collected particulates act as a wear resistant barrier to wear of the body and the adjacent inner wall surface of the duct. A plurality of spaced, planar ribs are mounted on the body, with adjacent ribs defining a cavity therebetween.
Abstract: A spot welding electrode includes a plurality of alternating, co-axially first and second sections, the first sections having a first predetermined sized cross section. The second sections have a second predetermined sized cross section smaller than the cross section of the first sections. The outer sides of the second sections form undercut areas between the outer sides of adjacent first sections. The outer sides of the second sections act as cleavage surfaces which remove excess material formed at the peripheral edges of the adjoining first sections caused by successive deformation of the first sections during repeated welding operations.
Abstract: A support and holding frame for supporting an air filtering element of the type that is of the nonself-supporting type. The invention comprises a frame adapted to hold the filtering element and consists of a three-sided sheet metal box having its upper and lower surfaces provided with bent edges directed toward the inside of the box to serve as flange supports for the filtering element. A pivotal door is provided on one side to permit simple access for insertion and removal of the filtering element.
Abstract: An adjustable vehicle seat including first and second seat members pivotally interconnected such that the second seat member is pivotally movable between first and second opposed direction facing positions at opposed ends of the first seat member. An angular adjustment mechanism is associated with the interconnected first and second seat members and enables the angular relationship of the second seat member to be selectively adjusted with respect to the first seat member in a plurality of angular positions. A latch is provided for latching the second seat member in a fixed position when the second seat member is oriented in the first direction facing position.
Abstract: An hydraulic cylinder having a plurality of piston rods is disclosed. The cylinder comprises a cylindrical hollow member having a pair of end members to enclose the cylinder, a piston positioned between the end members is supported by a plurality of rods. An end of the rods is affixed to a base of a press supporting the piston in a fixed relationship to the base. The cylinder is movable along the rods and the piston, and a die is attached to the press having a movable portion attached to the cylinder end member and a fixed portion attached to the base. Movement of the cylinder in a first direction closes the die on a workpiece, and movement of the cylinder in a counter direction opens the die.
Abstract: A lifter apparatus for moving a roof panel between closed, open and vent positions in an opening of a roof of a vehicle. The lifter apparatus includes a link pivotally connected at a first end to a slidable guide shoe mounted in a longitudinally extending guide rail attached to the vehicle. The second end of the link is slidingly disposed in an aperture formed in an attachment member secured to the roof panel. A cam block mounted on the guide shoe engages the attachment member to urge the attachment member upward such that the roof panel is urged into registry with the roof opening to close the roof opening. Further movement of the guide shoe causes the link to pivot about the first end to a substantially vertical orientation such that the second end of the link slides along the aperture in the attachment member and urges the attachment member and roof panel upward to the vent position.
Abstract: An audio power amplifier includes an input amplifier stage and an output power amplifier stage. The output power amplifier stage comprises a p-channel field effect transistor and an n-channel field effect transistor having interconnected drain electrodes forming an output signal terminal. A driver circuit is provided for driving the p-channel and n-channel field effect transistors in a transconductance mode of operation in which the output current through the field effect transistors is directly proportional to the input voltage applied to the output amplifier stage. A first feedback path is provided between the output power amplifier stage and the input amplifier stage. A second feedback path is formed between the output and input of the input amplifier stage.
Abstract: A mining drill mountable in a holder of a drilling machine. The drill includes an elongated shaft having an internal bore extending longitudinally therethrough. A cutting bit is mountable on one end of the shaft and includes a cutting tip mounted at one end thereof and a plurality of cutting teeth disposed about its periphery. A partial longitudinal bore is formed in the cutting bit and is alignable with the bore in the shaft. An aperture is formed in the cutting bit in communication with the bore in the cutting bit to direct debris through the aperture into the aligned bores in the cutting bit and shaft. A collar is mounted on the shaft and has a downward-extending inclined top surface. At least one aperture is formed in the shaft adjacent to the collar in communication with the interior bore in the shaft to direct debris into the bore. A cutting edge is formed on the bottom of the collar.
Abstract: A control device for varying the displacement of variable volume fluid energy devices is disclosed. The control cylinder of the present invention is usable with variable volume pumps and motors having a control rod projecting from the pump housing and angular movement of the control rod varies the pump or motor displacement. The control cylinder includes a bore formed in the cylinder, a spool movable within the bore, a lever fixedly attached to the control rod for rotation therewith, a directional control valve manifold mounted to the cylinder for selectively moving the spool within the bore, and a scotch yoke for interconnecting the lever to the spool so that movement of the spool produces an angular movement of the control rod varying the pump displacement. The control device may also be directly applied to an apparatus requiring a linear input for control. A plurality of control devices may be combined to produce an analog input that is either angular or linear.
Abstract: The invention refers substantially to games and their construction. The games are played on the outer surface of a geometric solid necessitating piece and gaming surface construction adequate to permit piece and surface adherance. Also the geometric solid utilized is scribed or covered with an appropriate map or grid pattern to provide separate playing positions and thus specific moves of play are possible. The geometric solid chosen is a three phase icosahedron geodesic sphere. The icosahedron geodesic sphere is supported by support pins projecting from the sphere resting in a concave support surface.
Abstract: An automatic thermal pressure regulator and balancing system adapted for use in an internal combustion engine having a fuel supply conduit connecting a fuel supply and a carburetor. The regulator includes a hollow housing interposed with the fluid supply conduit between the fuel supply and the carburetor. A metallic tubular member is disposed within the housing and includes an inlet disposed in fluid communication with the fuel supply conduit and a pair of outlets communicating with the interior of the housing. A heating element is mounted within the tubular member for heating the fuel flowing between the inlet and outlets of the tubular member. First, second and third co-linear chambers are formed within the housing, with the first and third chambers filled with a metallic mesh material and the second chamber filled with a catalytic agent material reactive with the fuel.

Abstract: A quill drive comprising a housing adapted for mounting on machine tools. A quill is slidably mounted in a longitudinal bore in the housing, and is longitudinally positioned by a ball screw. The ball screw is driven for longitudinal positioning of the quill by a variable speed, reversible motor. The quill rotatably supports a spindle for driving various cutting tools. The spindle is advanced longitudinally by the quill and is rotatably driven by a second motor. The quill drive can be used singly or in a multiple arrangement on transfer machines or other automatic equipment. The unique design has fewer parts resulting in a simple reliable, relatively inexpensive device which is compact and easy to use. A relatively simple modification of the gear box converts the quill drive into a drive for tapping threaded holes.
