  • Patent number: 5931283
Abstract: The invention relates to a scraper-chain assembly for scraper-chain conveyors, in particular central or double central scraper-chain conveyors, having a scraper connection to horizontal chain links of the single-strand or two-strand chain assembly. Vertical chain links hooked into the horizontal chain links are provided with longitudinal limbs which have a non-round cross-section, and whose thickness dimension is smaller than that of nose parts of these chain links that connect the longitudinal limbs. For the scraper connection, the scrapers have coupling and locking pins, which extend through internal openings of the horizontal chain links, between the hooked-in vertical chain links and which protrude from the internal openings to form locking pieces which serve to secure the scrapers.

  • Patent number: 5927924
Abstract: The invention relates to a hopper discharging and charging plate conveyor with automatic weighing and apportioning device for bulk materials of all types, there being arranged in the conveying path of the plate conveyor (1) a weighing station (15) which is formed by a weighing bridge which is displaced on load cells (16) or the like and, during conveying operation, determines the bearing weight of the loaded conveying belt by way of repeated measurements. In order to achieve precise weighing results, the horizontal tensile forces of the drawing elements (6), which comprise flat-link chains for example, are isolated from the vertical bearing forces measured at the weighing bridge, this resulting from the fact that the drawing elements (6) are connected to the plate elements (7) of the plate conveyor so as to be freely movable to a limited extent in the vertical direction, and this connection preferably being made via transverse bolts with vertical play in the bolt holes.

  • Patent number: 5920983
Abstract: An electrostatic supporting type acceleration detecting gyro apparatus is formed as an active type so as to be able to positively cancel a displacement of a gyro rotor. Control DC voltages for generating electrostatic supporting forces and displacement detection AC voltages for detecting a displacement of gyro rotor are applied to electrostatic supporting electrodes, and mechanism control circuits detect displacement indicating voltage signals (P.sub.1A) through (P.sub.4B). A displacement of the gyro rotor and the control DC voltages applied to the electrostatic supporting electrodes are computed based on the displacement detection voltages (P.sub.1A) through (P.sub.4B) outputted from the mechanism control circuits.

  • Patent number: 5914076
Abstract: Flow agent particles, Aluminum Oxide C, are blended with metal oxide phosphor particles in an amount less than or equal to 2% by weight of the phosphor particles. The blended particles are finely sifted, through a 10 micron screen, in a sonic-sifting apparatus. The sifted particles are introduced into a carrier resin, thermoplastic polymers such as polyamide, polyester, and polypropylene, during the melt-stage of an extrusion and pelletizing process, to form pellets in an amount of less than or equal to 30% by weight of the polymer. The pellets are fed, via a volumetric color chip feeder, into a melt extrusion unit to form multi-filament phosphorescent textile yarn in an amount of less than or equal to 10% by volume of the polymer.

  • Patent number: 5906090
Abstract: An aerating device adapted to be retrofit to existing household lawn mowers comprising a pair of wheels each having a plurality of tines extending therefrom for penetrating a lawn and removing therefrom a section of soil, thereby aerating the lawn. The tines are offset from the center of the wheel to utilize the rotational energy of the wheel and the weight of the lawn mower to penetrate the lawn without the application of additional force by the user. In this manner, a user can simultaneously cut his/her lawn and aerate the same.

  • Patent number: 5899815
Abstract: A skill based game presented in a bingo format in which a bowler, based on his or her bowling skill level and number of strike frames bowled during a three game session, has an opportunity to successfully complete pre-identified bingo patterns for awards. All entrants pay a fee prior to their league bowling and receive one or more computer generated bingo cards, each containing a matrix of numbers that correspond to individual bowling frame numbers for their three game sessions. In addition, and as a means of equalizing opportunity (handicapping bowlers), free computer generated strike frames may be given on each entrant's bingo card based on the bowlers skill level. An algorithm has been developed which determines the number of free strikes awarded to equalize all skill levels. The number of free strikes given is determined by identified average bracket levels and the system precludes issuance of a winning pattern with free spaces.

  • Patent number: 5862825
Abstract: A collapsible walker that includes a front frame, a pair of side frames, and a pair of levers. The front frame has a pair of skewed surfaces. The pair of side frames are hingedly attached to the front frame and are parallel thereto when the collapsible walker is in the closed position and are perpendicular thereto when the collapsible walker is in the open position. The pair of side frames have notches therein with skewed surfaces, with the pair of skewed surfaces of the front frame being vertically movable in the notches. The skewed surfaces of the pair of side frames move relative to the pair of skewed surfaces of the front frame as the collapsible walker is achieving the open position, until such time as it achieves the open position in which the pair of skewed surfaces of the front frame and drop down in the notches and mate with, and abut against, the skewed surfaces therein so as to prevent relative rotation therebetween and further rotation of the pair of side frames in both directions.
