  • Patent number: 4974557
Abstract: An air compressor, which is embodied as a single or multi-cylinder/piston compressor, and which is driven by gear wheels. The drive gear or pinion of the air compressor is disposed on the air compressor crankshaft and meshes with a gear wheel on the camshaft of an internal combustion engine. Provided on the periphery of the air compressor pinion is, for a single cylinder/piston compressor, one interval having an enlarged tooth gauge, and for a multi-cylinder/piston compressor, several such intervals, the number of which corresponds to the number of times the tangential force passes through zero during one air compressor crankshaft revolution, with the centers of the intervals being coordinated with the respective top dead center position of the air compressor piston.

  • Patent number: 4910034
Abstract: A process for the production of meat products, especially cooked ham, which is cooked in a compact form in a net, wherein the raw or pre-processed meat product is wrapped in a casing of edible collagen and a netting of optional mesh design is applied thereover and, in a subsequent step, the product is subjected to the final cooking process. Procedure for the simultaneous enveloping of compact meat products with an edible collagen film and an elastic netting includes employment of a feed sheet for the meat products, which fits into an inner guide tube, and an outer tube upon which a supply of the elastic netting is provided, and a guide channel situated therebetween for the collagen film(s). The procedure is complemented by elements for maintaining a supply of the collagen film and the unrolling and fold-free guidance of the collagen film, as well as a conventional clipping device.

  • Patent number: 4902175
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining the angular position of a workpiece and for positioning the same relative to at least one tool. The workpiece has at least one set of teeth. Pulses are derived from a rotating reference workpiece and from a reference shaft which has a known gear ratio with the reference workpiece, and consequently also turns. A first phase measurement is undertaken between the pulses, the result of which is stored as the reference value. The reference workpiece is replaced with a workpiece which is to be machined and which is provided with teeth. A second phase measurement between the pulses of the refernece shaft and of the reference workpiece are undertaken in a second measuring operation. The reference value of the first phase meaasurement is compared with the result of the second phase measurement. The workpiece is turned relative to the reference shaft in conformity with the difference between the two measured values.

  • Patent number: 4898334
Abstract: An arrangement for securing a cap to the end of a supporting body of a hammer mill rotor. The forward end of the supporting body end is provided with a front projection that is an integral part of the supporting body end and extends parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotor. The rearward end of the supporting body end is provided with a recessed portion for receiving a filler member that forms a rear projection. The front and rear walls of the cap are provided with respective flanges that are directed toward one another, extend parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotor, and extend in a hook-like manner about the front and rear projections. The cap covers all sides of the supporting body end but leaves free spaces between a hammer shaft and the side walls of the cap.

  • Patent number: 4896398
Abstract: A device for increasing the resistance and durability of an articulation mechanism, usable to control the position of a seat, includes a fixed flange rigidly connected with the seat and a movable flange rigidly connected with the movable part of the seat; these two flanges are rotatable with respect to each other by a mechanical assembly with a locking by suitable mechanism. The fixed flange carries, close to its periphery, a fine toothing that is not normally in contact with a fine continuous circular toothing provided on a peripheral circular element of the movable flange, these fine continuous circular toothings coming in contact with each other along a given length when the articulation mechanism is distorted as a consequence of a sudden shock.

  • Patent number: 4895038
Abstract: The planet wheel has either toothings having different diameters but a same tooth module or toothings of a same diameter but different tooth modules. The toothings are produced by die stamping of a disc down to a certain depth which provides, in the median plane of the disc, a central cheek against which bear the toothings thereby stiffening each tooth for preventing it from being crushed and deformed.

  • Patent number: 4893379
Abstract: An apparatus for continuously steaming filament tows or fiber slivers following a stretch-break converting machine. A steam channel receives saturated steam for releasing and eliminating shrinkage from filament tows or fiber slivers in the channel. To improve the elimination of shrinkage, the counterpressure against the filament tows or fiber slivers in the steam channel is adjustable. To effect this adjustment, a pivotable flap can be disposed at the outflow end of the steam channel to vary the cross-sectional area of the latter.

  • Patent number: 4892657
Abstract: A spacer for guiding flowing medium, especially in apparatus for filtering and separating flowing medium via reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration. The spacer has a central hole that essentially serves for the clamping together of a plurality of disk-like spacers. A filter element is disposed between each two spacers, with flowing medium flowing about both sides of the filter element. To reduce pressure loss in the flowing medium, a plurality of spaced-apart openings through which flowing medium passes are disposed about the central hole of the spacer.

  • Patent number: 4892509
Abstract: A belt with rods for a rod belt conveyor. Transversely extending rods are secured to the side bands. In order not to have to further prepare the rods and the bands, yet to provide a secure connection, a holder extends about the rod ends, with the ends of the holder being held by clamps that are forced into the non-prepared bands. The clamps or securing elements could at the same time also be formed as holders and could thereby form the aforementioned holder.

  • Patent number: 4889642
Abstract: A method and filtration apparatus for purifying solvents. Impurities present in the solvent are separated out in the filtration apparatus via filtration using at least one filter, through which the solvent flows and upon which the impurities settle as a filter cake. At least prior to the removal of the impurities that form the filter cake from the filtration apparatus, solvent residues present in the filter cake and possibly also in the filter are recovered by evaporation. The solvent residues in the filtration apparatus are vaporized by the action of a hot, gaseous medium that is conveyed first through the filter and only then through the filter cake, i.e. the impurities, in the direction opposite to the direction in which the solvent flowed through the filtration apparatus during the filtration process.

  • Patent number: 4886437
Abstract: A bearing arrangement of an external axial rotary piston blower for gaseous medium having a housing which consists of an interior runaway surface and two side parts through which shafts project upon which pistons rotating therewith form working chambers. The shafts of these pistons have ball bearings with lip flap or face seals for sealing-off of gas pressure in the working chambers as well as externally of these bearings having transmission gears journalled with respect to the side parts. Bearing necks or collars are formed and provided with the ball bearings for the shafts of the pistons and these annular grooves are open extending radially outwardly. Groove walls on the transmission side along with inner edges of the gear rings of the gears of the transmission form an annular gap of closest narrow tolerance. A further annular gap can be provided between the bores for the shafts and the bearing necks and the hubs of the gears of the transmission.
