Abstract: An improved small profile hanger system for ceiling suspended lighting fixtures comprises a plurality of hanger assemblies having a support stem and a downwardly arced crossbar. The support stem and crossbar have a relatively small elliptical profile have two sets of wire holes, each set of wire holes having an inner hole and an outer hole overlapping the inner hole, the inner and outer holes defining an intervening gap narrower than the dimension of either hole. The holes are sized to receive an insulated wire; the intervening gap preventing the wire from crossing over into the adjacent hole. The wire holes of the support stem are in communication with the wire holes of the crossbar providing a fully enclosed wiring passage from a ballast box assembly installed above a suspended ceiling to energize a lamp in a diffuser depending from a pair of the crossbars.

Abstract: A sequential stepped movement staging device comprises six legs 70 of equal length extending radially from a central sphere 46 in an X-Y-Z orthogonal relationship. The sphere 46 and legs 70 are held in a horizontally fixed position relative to a support surface 14 by a holder including a primary retaining member 40, a secondary retaining member 74 fixed in superposition to the primary retaining member 40, and an alignment cylinder 84. The secondary retaining member 74 is slidably disposed in the alignment cylinder 84 to allow for vertical movement of the sphere 46, legs 70, and retaining members 40, 74. One of six actuating rods 94 pushes down on one of three upwardly extending legs 70H thereby rotating the sphere 46 and causing two of three downwardly descending legs 70L to move a work surface 16 capable of horizontal sliding movement over the support surface 14 from a first position to a second position. Abstract: A loudspeaker horn (11) having a throat end (13) for receiving acoustic power from aligned acoustic power sources (41, 43, 45), an elongated throat (33), and a flared section (17) is provided with grating lobe mitigation fins (27, 29) that extend substantially parallel to the propagation axis of the horn from the throat end toward the mouth end of the horn's flared section. The length of the grating lobe mitigation fins is established in accordance with the degree of suppression of the grating lobes produced by the aligned acoustic power sources that is desired.

Abstract: A high power absorbing waveguide termination for a microwave transmission line has a power receiving end with a waveguide input port, an oversize waveguide section, and a transforming waveguide section for connecting the waveguide input port to the oversize waveguide. A dielectric taper disposed in the oversize waveguide section has a fluid passage therethrough to allow fluid, most suitably water, to sweep the taper and absorb microwave power introduced into the oversized waveguide section. Fluid is suitably fed into and extracted from the dielectric taper via a manifold end block at the back end of the oversize waveguide section. The taper is inclined relative to the center axis of the oversize waveguide section so as to position the point end of the taper in a region of very low electric field strength for the oversize waveguide section's fundamental mode. A power monitoring probe is optionally provided at the input port of the waveguide termination.
