Abstract: A respiratory protection device for protection against airborne toxic material comprising a rigid tube having an inlet opening at one end, an outlet opening at the opposite end, a filter for particulate material at the inlet opening, two distinct layers of gas adsorptive material which are arranged in series between the inlet and outlet openings, and means for retaining the layers of adsorptive material within the tube. The chemical composition of the layers differ from each other and the compositions have different adsorptive characteristics.
Abstract: A wax polish comprises a wax, e.g. beeswax, turpentine and/or white spirit, and alum. The polish may also comprise a vegetable or mineral oil, acetic acid, resin and/or blue stone.
Abstract: A support and/or guide roller device for folding, sliding panels which consists of support pedestal (29) resting on the front side of panel (5) for one of the ends of the vertical axle bolt (23), whose other end is supported in a running carriage (21) for support rollers (22) or guide rollers. The distance between support pedestal (29) and running carriage (21) of support rollers (22) or the distance of the guide roller from this may be adjusted and fixed in the longitudinal direction of axial bolt (23). So that the support and/or guide roller device can be adapted to different thickness measurements of the panel cross-sections, axle bolt (23) sits on a bracket arm (26), with which support pedestal (29) can be displaced in a limiting manner essentially crosswise to the panel plane and can be set in a fixed manner in any chosen position (43-46 and 51.
Abstract: A day-night mirror assembly for a motor vehicle having a housing with a front opening, a first sheet of transparent material at the opening and second sheet which is located behind the first sheet and which has a first light reflective surface which faces the opening. A third sheet having a second light reflecting surface which differs in light reflectivity from the first light reflective surface is located within the housing for movement between an inactive position to an active position in which the third sheet is located between the first and second sheets and a second light reflective surface faces the opening in the housing. The third sheet is selectively positioned in either the active position or the inactive position by means of an actuator which is manually operated from outside of the housing.
Abstract: A detection apparatus for monitoring specified safety eyewear being worn by persons who are either passing into or are located in the designated area which requires that a person in the area be wearing the specified safety eyewear. The detection apparatus includes an infrared reflector which is located on the specified eyewear, an infrared transmitter for transmitting a beam of infrared radiation towards the person, an infrared receiver which receives reflected radiation from the infrared reflector on the safety eyewear being worn by the person and an alarm which is normally inactive and which remains inactive as long as infrared radiation from the transmitter is reflected back to the infrared receiver from the reflector. The alarm is activated when infrared radiation is transmitted to the person and not reflected to the receiver due to the absence of specified safety eyewear which contains the appropriate infrared reflector.
Abstract: A window or a door with a panel (1) mounted on a fixed frame (2) on or near an upright boundary edge by hinge fittings (5, 6). To relieve the hinge fittings (5, 6) of the vertical component of the force of weight or load of the panel (3), a brace (11) is provided, engaging with the panel (3) on the one hand in the area of the hinge fittings (5, 6) and on the other hand, anchored to the fixed frame (2) against the force of weight or direction of load of the panel (3). The brace is provided above, but adjacent to, a lower corner hinge.

Abstract: A hinge system including a door and a frame having matching angular edge surfaces and a hinge comprising an L-shaped pintle and an elongated secondary element each having a wood screw thread wherein the pintle has a vertical leg and the secondary element has a bore fitting snugly over the vertical leg and each wood screw thread is secured in a respective angular surface at a right angle thereto.
Abstract: An apparatus for and method of coating an article by the use of electro-static attraction of ionized particles which are subsequently cured. The apparatus includes a first foraminous conveyor for carrying the article through a powder coating zone and a second conveyor for carrying the article through a curing zone. The surface of the article which rests on the foraminous conveyor is cleaned of particles as the article is transferred from the first foraminous conveyor to the second conveyor. The first foraminous conveyor is also cleaned of particles after the article has been transferred. After the articles have been cured to form a coating on the article, the article is put through the coating system again except that the article is supported on the conveyor so that the surface which was not coated in the first pass through the system is out of contact with the conveyor.
Abstract: Timing and warning system for use on a track involving a plurality of vehicles (12,13,14) including a series of stationary transceivers (15) located at selected locations along the track (11) and a mobile transmitter (18) located in each vehicle.
Abstract: A stereoscope for viewing two stereoscopically complementary pictures which are positioned one above the other. The stereoscope includes a housing which has left and right front openings at the front of the housing and upper and lower rear openings at the back of the housing. A passageway leads from the left front opening to one of the rear openings and from the right front opening to the other rear opening. Optical elements, such as mirrors, are located within the passageways for directing a light image from one of the pictures through one of the rear openings to the left front opening and for directing a light image from the other picture through the other rear opening to the right front opening so that the observer sees the two images as superimposed and perceives the superimposed images as a single 3-dimensional picture.
Abstract: A biological living-filter system for treatment of sanitary landfill leachate which comprises a treatment basin which is lined with a water impervious material and filled with an organically enriched treatment medium which is conductive to maintaining a population of micro-organisms. The system also includes leachate tolerant plants growing in the treatment medium and flow control means for the leachate.
Abstract: Tile for use in forming a toy roadway, each tile having a roadway pattern formed on it and each tile having an engagement structure for interlocking with similar adjacent tiles to form a complete system. The pattern of the roadways of the complete system may be varied by simply changing the orientation of one side of the toy roadway tile or by changing the alignment of an edge of one or more tiles.
Abstract: A hinge joint for windows, doors, or the like which can especially be provided on the swing out arm of a disengagement device for rotary/tilt wing. An angular intermediate piece 14 is swingably held in a bearing block adapted to be fixed at a blind frame. It is connected with a supporting arm 15 which is swingable by 180.degree. around an articulated axis 19--19 through a pivot pin connection. The supporting arm engages the wing as a holding element and is fixable in position with respect to the angular intermediate piece 14 in two swiveling positions offset by 180.degree.. The end of the supporting arm 15 facing the angular intermediate piece 14 exhibits a fork shape having two parallel fork legs 38 adapted to pass laterally along a bearing eye 28 on the intermediate piece 14 wich encompasses the articulated axis 19--19.
