Abstract: The present invention provides a sample breaking-up instrument and a method thereof, in which a pressing member is pressed by a centrifugal force against a sample within a cylindrical body provided with a filter member to thereby break-up the sample safely and efficiently. Provided is an instrument for breaking-up a sample, comprising: a cylindrical body having a through hole opening in both ends thereof; a filter member installed in one end of the cylindrical body within the through hole; and a pressing member to be operatively inserted into the hole of the cylindrical body from the other end thereof so as to be slidable therethrough in a sealed manner, wherein a force is exerted on the pressing member so that the pressing member presses the sample placed between the pressing member and the filter member against the filter member and thereby the sample is forced to pass through the filter member and is thus broken-up.
Abstract: Systems and methods for error correction of data. In one embodiment of the invention, a plurality of error correction schemes are applied when encoding data and depending on the circumstances, one or more of those schemes is selected to decode the data. In one of these embodiments, the applied error correction schemes include the BCH algorithm and the Hamming algorithm.
Abstract: To provide a noiseproof toothed cable enabling a reduction in noise generated by the contact thereof with a conduit, a reduction in use load, and manufacturable easily. This noiseproof toothed cable (10) comprises a toothed cable (13) having a core (11) formed of metal wires and a tooth line (12) formed on the outer peripheral surface of the core (11) and a tube-like resin coat (14) installed on the outer periphery of the toothed cable (13). Spaces (20) are provided between the recessed parts (18) of the resin coat and the core (11), the projected parts (19) of the resin coat is brought into contact with the tooth line (12), and the recessed amount of the recessed parts (18) of the resin coat positioned between the parts of the tooth line (12) is set to 0.1 to 0.5 mm.
Abstract: A method for authenticating a mobile terminal in a wireless network is disclosed. The method includes transmitting a request for authenticating the mobile terminal in that wireless network operative to provide services at a location where the mobile terminal is currently present, receiving the request at a base station associated with that wireless network, and determining an entity associated with the wireless network to be operative as a single authentication access entity for that mobile terminal, as long as the mobile terminal location remains within that wireless network and traffic is directed through any location associated with that wireless network.

Abstract: An exercise apparatus used to simulate skating or roller blading movement in a user includes a pair of sleds or shuttles which include a pedal adapted to support the foot of a user standing thereon. The shuttles are movable along a respective guide assembly consisting of one or more rails which curve away from each other extending from proximate forwardmost ends, outwardly and rearwardly. The rail assemblies are provided in a substantially mirror arrangement and curve downwardly from their respective forwardmost ends to a lowermost distal portion. A guide member is provided to assist in positioning and maintaining the shuttles in sliding movement along each guide assembly, whereby the reciprocal sliding movement of the shuttles along an associated guide assembly acts to guide the feet of the user in skating or roller blade movement.

Abstract: Disclosed is a process for obtaining hybridoma cell lines which produce human antibodies capable of binding to the hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBVsAg), as well as the hybridoma cell lines, and antibodies produced by the cell lines. Also disclosed are various uses of said antibodies in the prevention and treatment of HBV infection. Peripheral blood lymphocytes obtained from human donors having a high titer of anti HBVsAg antibodies are engrafted into normal strains of mice which were lethally irradiated and radioprotected with SCID bone marrow. After immunization of such chimeric mice with HBVsAg, human cells are obtained from the mice spleens and fused in vitro with heteromyeloma cells to generate hybridomas secreting human antibodies having a high affinity and specificity to HBVsAg.
