  • Patent number: 4508051
Abstract: An apparatus for the automatic application of an adhesive bead to the frame flange of a window opening of a vehicle body has an all-round rail shaped in accordance with the flange and on which moves a carriage. The carriage supports a discharge nozzle by means of a guide column and a bracket arm, which is pivotable radially outwards with respect to the latter, in such a way that the nozzle can move to a limited extent relative to the carriage. The mobility of the discharge nozzle is controlled by a scanning wheel, which is located in the window frame when the apparatus is in operation.

  • Patent number: 4506509
Abstract: A gas turbine plant including one or more gas turbine units comprises a base member formed like a box having square end walls and four side walls joined thereto. An output shaft is journalled centrally in the end walls and carries a gear wheel, the diameter of which is slightly less than the side dimensions of the end walls. The rotor shaft of the gas turbine is, at least partly, enclosed in a housing component having a base portion adapted to be mounted upon arbitrary side wall of the base member. Two gear wheels are mounted upon a lay shaft in the housing. One of these gear wheels meshes with a gear wheel upon the rotor shaft, while the other gear wheel, when the unit is mounted upon the base member, meshes with the gear wheel enclosed therein.

  • Patent number: 4505164
Abstract: A new and unique automatic transmission mechanism to be preferably mounted on an automobile or the like is disclosed which contains two gear assemblies as essential components. The first gear assembly generally comprising four gear elements of a low gear, a second gear, a third gear and a top gear is arranged freely rotatable on an engine output shaft with a clutch holder axially displaceably disposed therebetween, whereas the second gear assembly comprising a single solid multi-stage driven gear is fixedly arranged on a driven shaft. The first gear assembly meshes with the second gear assembly in such a manner that a certain gear element of the former meshes with a corresponding gear section of the latter.

  • Patent number: 4501084
Abstract: A fishing net includes a photoconductive cable comprising a plurality of optical fibers having light-emitting portions, wherein said light-emitting portions are divided into a first group adapted to emit light having favorable influence upon fish and a second group adapted to emit light having an adverse influence upon fish. The direction of light emanating from said first group of light-emitting portions is counter to that of light emanating from said second group of light-emitting portions. Fish travel into the net influenced by the light of the first group and are discouraged from leaving by the light of the second group.

  • Patent number: 4499667
Abstract: A guide clamp is disclosed which includes a clamping jaw at one end of a guide bar. An opposing shifting jaw is slidably carried on the guide bar to permit a workpiece to be embraced by the jaws. The guide bar is a flat, rectangular channel member open at the undersurface which engages the workpiece surface. The jaws, extended below this undersurface engage the opposite sides of the workpiece, such as a board, with the shifting jaw being shiftable and lockable in the channel at a jaw-engaging position and with the clamp jaw being shiftable in the channel a short distance by lever action to lock the clamp onto the workpiece. When so mounted and locked upon a workpiece, the guide clamp may be used as a clamp, a marker guide or a tool guide. Suitable guideways to guide and hold tools, jegs and the like may be provided on the guide bar.

  • Patent number: 4498643
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an automatic locking retractor suitable for use in a vehicle seat belt. The retractor does not produce any substantial unpleasant noise when the webbing is wound up, because its cog wheels and lock lever are kept separated while the webbing is wound up. The retractor features use of a ratchet wheel, latch gear and control member. The ratchet wheel and latch gear are rotatable together with the cog wheels. The control member is normally kept in engagement with the latch gear but can assume a first and second working positions when the webbing is pulled out and taken up respectively. At the working positions, the control member is kept in contact with the path of rotation of the circumference of the latch gear. When the webbing is pulled out, the pawl engages with the control member but is kept out of engagement with the ratchet wheel. When the webbing is then wound back over a small length, the pawl is disengaged from the control member but is then kept engageable with the ratchet wheel.

  • Patent number: 4498222
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a process for clinching a wire rope on a buckle base, which comprises the following consecutive steps:subjecting a starting anchor block material and the wire rope in combination to a first clinching operation to obtain a preformed anchor block bearing steps therein; andsubjecting the preformed anchor block and the buckle base in combination to a second clinching operation to clinch the resultant anchor block on the buckle base, which second clinching operation is applied in a direction different from the first clinching operation. Owing to the first and second clinching operations carried out in directions different from each other, the resulting stresses are scattered and the anchor block is thus protected from being overstressed.

  • Patent number: 4497347
Abstract: In a device for driving the weft-inserting needles of a shuttleless loom in a rectilinear reciprocating movement, each needle is connected to the needle-actuating system by means of a flexible connecting member or so-called flector and is guided within a rail by means of a block of antifriction material attached to the end of the needle. By means of the device, vibrations of the driving mechanism are not transmitted to the weft-inserting needle at high operating speeds of the loom.

  • Patent number: 4496116
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an automatic locking retractor suitable for use in a vehicle seat belt. The retractor does not produce any substantial unpleasant noise when the webbing is wound up, because the cog wheels and lock lever are kept separated while the webbing is wound up on the take-up spindle. The webbing is restrained from being pulled out when the once-pulled out webbing is slightly rewound and is then tried to pull it out again. The retractor features use of a disk, pawl and sensing means.
