A rake plate is pivotably coupled to the mounting bracket and defines a rake slot having rake slot teeth. A telescope plate is pivotably coupled to the column jacket and defines a telescope slot having telescope slot teeth. A rake lock having rake lock teeth is disposed within the rake slot and a telescope lock having telescope lock teeth is disposed within the telescope slot. The rake plate and the telescope plate pivot as the rake lock and the telescope lock move into interlocking toothed engagement to avoid peak-to-peak contact between the lock teeth and the slot teeth, thereby permitting full meshing engagement between the lock teeth and the slot teeth.

Therefore, the present invention can markedly enhance the internal stress of the coil spring, compared to a coil spring treated by the conventional shot peening apparatus. Furthermore, in the present invention, because the coil springs are clamped by the corresponding spring clamping units facing each other and are simultaneously rotated and moved into the shot room for shot peening, various kinds of side load coil springs, as well as a typical cylindrical coil spring, can be evenly treated throughout the entire surface thereof by shot peening.

The processor is either executing in the host mode and has no zone or in the guest mode with the current zone. The requesting zone indicator and the contents of a programmable filtering register that indicates exceptions to filtering performed by the processor is used to determine if filtering should be performed. The quiesce interruption request may be filtered based on the requesting zone indicator even after the mode switches from the guest mode to the host mode.
