Abstract: A protective arrangement for preventing parts of the body from being trapped between at least two mutually relatively moveable parts including at least one strip which is associated with at least one part. There are provided in the strip at least two mutually spaced conductive elements extending in the longitudinal direction of the strip. An electronic sensor system serves to produce an output signal for a capacitance that is adapted to vary as a result of external influences. Due to the fact that at least one first conductive element sends out a signal which is received by at least one second conductive element due to the capacitive effect of the first conductive element and that the second conductive element is at substantially the same electrical potential as the first conductive element and likewise sends out the received signal, there is provided a capacitive crush protection arrangement which does not react to splashes of water or the formation of dew or frost.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for conserving bandwidth. If a presence of a multimedia device is detected, then a stream of data is delivered to the multimedia device. If the presence of the multimedia device is not detected, then the stream of data is degraded to conserve bandwidth.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for reducing phase noise in measurement signals from a sensor are provided. The apparatus and method, in one aspect, may use a multiphase counter to obtain a count for each sensor signals time cycle and a filter to reduce noise from the obtained counts. A suitable reference frequency, including the reference frequency of the sensor, may be utilized by the multiphase counter.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method, system and computer program product for automatically generating message queue scripts for defining one or more Websphere® Message Queue™ (WMQ) objects on one or more queue managers. A user provides parameters corresponding to the WMQ objects as input in an input parameter file. The parameters include the name of the WMQ objects and the queue managers. Further, a message queue environment consistency check is performed on the input parameter file for validating the parameters provided. The validation is performed by using a database that stores information about the message queue environment. After successful validation of the input parameter file, one or more message queue scripts are generated for defining the WMQ objects on the queue managers. Fallback scripts may also be generated for rolling back the modifications performed on the queue managers, if required at a later stage.

Abstract: An outlet guide vane system is disclosed for axial flow fans. Construction details are described which reduce losses in the end wall regions of the vanes, particularly for axial flow fans operating at low flow coefficient with strong localized swirl associated with upstream rotor tip clearance flows. In the preferred embodiment, the vane spanwise airfoil stacking line is approximately straight, while leaning circumferentially toward the incoming swirl flow over the majority of the radial span. The stacking line then curves abruptly in the opposite direction over the radially outboard spanwise portion, so as to lean away from the incoming swirl at the vane tip station. The radially outboard portion of the vanes simultaneously include a gradual increase in vane stagger angle, vane camber angle and vane chord. The vane may also include an axial sweep component.
Abstract: A backlight assembly includes; a plurality of light guide blocks disposed substantially in parallel with each other along a first direction, each of the plurality of light guide blocks including; a light guide plate (“LGP”) having a wedge-shape decreasing in thickness from a first side thereof to a second side thereof, and a light source unit disposed facing a side surface of the LGP, and a light source driving unit which individually controls the light source units of the plurality of light guide blocks to emit light via a local dimming method.

Abstract: A waste disposal device comprises a container having a top opening. The container provides access to an inner cavity that receives a bag with opened and closed ends. A pivoting lid closes/opens access to the opening. An actuation mechanism has a user-actuated interface. A linkage connected to the interface opens/closes the lid. A pair of jaws is connected to the linkage. The jaws move between a clamped position, in which the jaws close off a portion of the bag, and an opened position, in which the jaws are separated to allow waste to reach the closed end. The jaws and the lid are actuated concurrently by a single degree of actuation on the interface, allowing the lid to open and close while the jaws move from the clamped to the opened position, and back to the clamped position. A method for disposal of a waste object is also provided.
